It closed, but I did find this...story from November 2019...I had no idea it closed. I remember it was a huge deal to have a Longaberger party.
Longaberger baskets are making a comeback under a new owner.
Dresden, Ohio-based Dresden & Co. has entered into a license agreement to manufacture the baskets again, in a deal with New York City consumer products conglomerate Xcel Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: XELB) and Chicago-based Hillco Global, which have acquired the intellectual property of the one-time distinctive brand of baskets and consumer goods.
The new brand is set to launch on QVC Wednesday evening, with an appearance by Tami and Rachel Longaberger, whose father founded the basketmaking enterprise in 1973 and grew it to $10 billion in sales. The company was sold to a new parent company in 2013 and later filed for bankruptcy protection.
Longaberger Co. vacated its distinctive headquarters at 1500 E. Main St. in Newark in 2016, two years before ceasing operations. Today, the basket-shaped building's owners are planning to turn it into a boutique hote
