....it was a NIGHTMARE!

....but yes, we are moved in to the new house and we closed on our old one on Monday...

....let's put it this way: it was NOT 'move-in ready'.....

....no....we have to do some major construction work. There are three bedrooms on the first floor but they are kind of small. Plus, the master bedroom has two TINY closets. I had my own 5-ft walk-in closet, while my DH had 3 sliding wood doors which covered his closets, so you can see, we definitely need more closets. We are going to knock down the wall between those closets and the small bedroom on the other side of them and convert that into one GIANT walk-in closet 'suite'. The kitchen is kind of small also so we are going to knock down the wall that separates the kitchen from the dining room and lengthen the kitchen and separate the two rooms with a peninsula.....

Sounds like a lot of work, Kim. And you have to live there while doing it
So....why did you decide to move?

....the town where we used to live is, um....'changing'....the values of homes have been going down, while the taxes keep going up...

Funny, homes have finally been going up here, along with taxes.

....if we were to move our old house just one town over, it would have been worth at least $75,000 more...

Good luck with all the work and getting the house the way you want it.

Prices here are finally going back up again. I think we are back to where it was when we bought it. DS's (his rental) is still a bit low. He wants to sell it, but doesn't want to lose money.

We did new build so we could get what we wanted.
