I’m looking forward to our annual Polar Express night - one of my favorite family Christmas nights. I’m so grateful that Katie still loves doing this, because it wouldn’t be the same with just DH and I.

Tomorrow we will be enjoying a pizza we have good memories of. Hope Regina pizzas are as good as we remember.

I’m not having to wear any lipstick to work for awhile - we’re mandating masks again at the office - such a shame that this virus is raging again. We made masks optional due to us having very little people in the office at once and the COVID numbers weren’t a lot by us, but now, it’s crazy. We’ve had several patients cancel recently due to COVID. Since I’m immune compromised, I’ve never stopped wearing my mask everywhere else and knock on wood I’m still ok. Katie’s BF sadly won’t be joining us for Christmas Eve due to his unvaccinated boss being sick (he hasn’t been tested so we don’t know if he has COVID). Katie told her BF that with my health situation that he can’t come over until we know what his boss has (the BF is vaccinated, but that doesn’t matter - every patient of ours that has COVID has been vaccinated and boosted). Her BF is a wonderful young man and knows my situation and completely understands, but I feel bad for Katie and him - they were looking forward to their 3rd Christmas together. Definitely sucky times in regards to this virus.

I know....it has gotten so bad again.
We still wear and will continue to wear masks everywhere.
We have been lucky. Only that one person at Thanksgiving has gotten Covid and it was after we saw her.
We're both in the compromised position too, DH more than me.....so always extra careful.

Lots to do here today......get the cinnamon rolls made and ready for the oven for tomorrow.
Make the Eclair Cake
Make the corn muffins
Make avocado dip and onion dip
Get the cookie tray ready for tonight

And then clean the downstairs bathroom, mop the kitchen floor.
The family will be arriving around 3

I’m about ready to go pick up Katie’s apple pie at Whole Foods and pick up our Chicken Kiev’s from the butcher tonight - they are so good - custom made to what each of us wanted stuffed inside (this is our Christmas Eve early meal). Then we need to leave at 3:50pm for 5:00pm Mass - gotta get there early to get the seat we want.

We went on line to the Family Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC. It was especially good and beautiful, I think.

Just Tom, Gus and I are at home now. It was an excellent day today with my DSis. We went for a bike ride today, the temperature went up tp 60°!

It was nice being with the family, but that was a lot of work!! Glad I only do it every 3 years.

Going shopping this morning for a bit and then back to get the house in order.
3 beds and a bathroom to take care of.....extra, plus it is clean upstairs day and do laundry anyway.

@Meriweather, that avocado and onion dip sounds good! I looked up a recipe, and just might try it for "football snack" today. (I have one avocado left, and no idea until I cut it if it's still useable. )

Christmas was good here. DS was home, and we were able to go to dinner at my in-law's house. Everyone liked their presents, and I got asked for the recipe for both of the new cookies that I made.

Today is sunny and feels warmer than it is. I already have laundry in, so one guaranteed accomplishment. Everything else is gravy.

We both tested negative for Covid this morning as did our guests who are coming today. Tom’s cousin provided the tests, they are particularly careful, and I am glad we will be able to visit!

I have another apple pie in the oven…yesterday’s went home with my DSis. I really only like pies on the day they are made!
