I'm.........

Back from hand surgeon and physical therapist for my hips and in a way I'm worse off....

IMG_8731ed-L.jpg

This is my splint with a cast sleeve inside. I no longer can use my fingers at all and am forbidden from lifting anything at all with my left hand. I can take it off to bathe, sleep and do my hand exercises but that is all!

So disappointed but it is supposedly healing as expected. I tried to drive but can't reach the turn signal or grip the wheel properly.

Thanks for letting me vent; I feel a bit better.

Are you suppose to wear that forever? I am going to keep praying for you. Why can't you use it? And is something wrong with your hips? Don't worry.

Thanks Jo! At least 3 weeks more; it's healing as it should be but is still swollen and 'vulnerable' to damage. I was not expecting this I guess and it makes it hard to drive and even do things like buttoning a shirt. In the big picture it's just a small bump in the road.

How is your dog doing?

Well, just give the hand time to heal. At least you won't have it forever. My poor husband has had to step up to the plate and do a little more since my back issues. So let someone help you when you can't do it. The dog is doing much better thank you for asking. As soon as she got the anitibiotic shot it started cleaning up. I am surprised the pain pill does not knock her out like mine does...:rotfl:

Guess we both have our crosses to bear Jo! You're right about letting DH help me. I actually hate it and feel guilty that I can't help with dishes etc even though it's only temporary. With his scoliosis everything he does hurts him even stuff he enjoys like cooking. I hate to add to his work.

Glad to hear that she is improving; our furbabies worry us just like our kids. She's like me in a way; strong pain pills barely affect me while even half of one of my pills can knock DH out who is 2x my weight!

The way I deal with DH since he works, I just ask for basic things that are on a low level. If he has worked long hours I by pass asking. But his list of things is short as we rent so he doesn't feel over whelmed. I hate darn pain pills.

Me too! I am cutting back and this along with stopping a couple of other meds has really made me cranky lately.

Well you work too Jo! Don't shortchange yourself but I totally understand what you mean about some of the guilt and worry.

I really can't do that much, the last round I just cleaned the tub and the back went out. I try to over look much stuff. Somethings I can't but oh well.

Glad it will only be on a little longer, Kathy. But I'm sure it is a pain.

Sorry about the back, Jo. Glad the dog is doing better.

Woke up early and decided not to do my usual walk; we might go for a drive today.

Have fun. I am always up early

Not sleeping well the last couple of nights anyway......stupid toe.

Hope you finally get some decent sleep Nancy!

I'm back from another day of shopping for lamps; really hate this. We found some really nice bedroom lamps but hate to pay $200 for each :sad2: so back to online...

Oh Nancy I hope you get some relief from your toe…

Ouch Kathy, I just use floor lamps. Nothing is inexpensive anymore. I don't know if you have a Home Goods store, they are usually decent priced.

I think a grilled cheese sounds good for dinner.

The toe is getting better, just hurts if I hit the side.

I am so done with summer.....tired of it always being hot.

We still need to go look for furniture, but not in the mood right now. It might have to wait until Sept. now

:grouphug:
We do sound pretty sad, don't we.

By the way, how are the knees doing, Bobbi?

DGD will be over for the weekend.....so busy!

My knees are wonderful! Thank you!
We are in Cape May NJ. We come back every month to spend time with my mother who is in a nursing home. Our Ohio house will go back on the market in March. By this time next year, we hope Cape May is our only home!
Yesterday our youngest grandson was 3.:cake: We did face time, and will visit him in TX next weekend.
