I'm With Stupid!

hogwartsdropout - I think that's hilarious! And I don't think it would necessarily ruin their videos. Just think of it. If I got home from my trip, sat down to watch my vacation videos & saw some guy in the background acting like a dork, I would be on the floor!!! I would be showing it to all my friends!! :rotfl2:

I have to disagree, there are several post about this exact discussion..so no need to start a new one and hijack this one..so I'll just disagree.

All right, I'll 'fess up. It was me.

On Thanksgiving night last year, we walked into our ADR at O'hana. My family had all dressed up just a bit and I had on a pretty new pair of sandals (high heels, even though I rarely wear heels... for a reason). We were going around the wooden walkway that circles the restaurant and the lovely singing woman had just stopped her song to welcome us ("Hello, cousin!") when I hit a wet spot on the floor with my slippery new heels and went flying.

I managed to hang onto my drink and keep it upright, so there was little mess, but I hit my knee hard and a large group of CMs rushed over to help. Everyone was asking if I was okay, and every person in the restaurant was staring. I was mortified! I tried to play it off and get to our table A) without visibly limping and B) without crying of embarassment. Our server, a very savvy smart woman, whispered to me, "If you're hurt and you'd like to let me know privately, just call me over." The restaurant manager came over and apologized, but really I just wanted everyone to stop looking at me. I had a reminder bruise for weeks afterward -- oh my. I may never go into O'hana again!

YUP...I embarrassed myself! Our 1st trip, a few weeks ago at AK on Mother's Day! it's after the pararde and we're heading over to Everest to ride it again before we leave (even though my dh was very hot and tired and wanted to leave) I told him it's Mother's Day and Richie (my ds) and I are riding it again whether my dh liked it or not. He agreed and as we got closer he's says well I'm gonna ride ti too then..and smiled. Standby was only 20 minutes. I say to dh "who's goin' 1st, me or you?" He's says to me "go ahead since it's Mother's Day" I yelp with delight and my ds (age 7) takes off for the entrance I run after him and trip on the little path between the FP machines and the entrance and go flying through the air and then as if I was sliding into homebase, arms stretched out and everything I hit the ground-SMACK!!!! In like 2 seconds I have 3 CM's and other bystanders next to me asking me if I'm OK and I'm blushing like an idiot, saying I'm fine, wanting them to just leave me alone so I can get on the darn Everest-LOL!! I did end up hurting 1 knee and scraped up and bruised my palms pretty good. We get off the ride and dh declares what an idiot I looked like, he said 1 second he saw me and the next second I'd disappeared....we all got a good laugh, but boy did my knee hurt by the next day! :rotfl:

This sounds familiar, only it was my mom and not me who fell. During our second trip (2002), we were staying offsite at a Holiday Inn (we had not yet been enlightened about Disney resorts). Their transportation to the parks was very sparse, with only 2 or 3 buses leaving in the morning, so if you missed the bus, you had a LONG wait or may miss the parks entirely. One morning, we were running late, so we were walking quickly to the bus stop on a brick pathway. Well, my mom slips and takes a flying leap, knees down onto the path. Of course, since we were going to Blizzard Beach, this was the ONE DAY she was wearing shorts. Well, needless to say, her knees were a mess! We couldn't go back to the room or to first aid because we would miss the bus, so she cleaned them up with tissues as best as she could. So we get to the bus stop, and the line is HUGE. We ended up standing on the bus, with my mother's knees scraped and bleeding. The bright side? Only a couple of peolpe saw her fall, so it wasn't SO embarrassing. But we still laugh about it to this day!
