I'm watching "Kate Plus Eight"....

And you got all this from what I wrote LOL? Where did I say any of that? Did I say any of it was J and A fault? I put in a simple sentence saying I'll be happy to not see them anymore. And I will be. Their gravy train is also over.

YOu can't even begin to compare the two. Kate is the one screaming she needs help and we all know that she doesn't get it, at least not to her specifications. That minute she told me to cut the lettuce instead of tearing it, would be the day that Kate was wearing that salad. They were along to help Kate, Kate started this whole mess, she was the one that loved being on TV. They were there as paid help and also as friends. They have lives outside of TV, Kate doesn't, this is the big difference between the two. And yes I also thought that you implied that it was more their fault than Kate's. NOt to mention, they didn't look like idiots, Kate did. And for all of you that say they shouldn't bash Kate in front of the kids. What about their own MOTHER, bashing Jon?

I implied nothing. I said nothing about anything that was their fault. I'm not even sure what fault you are talking about. I mentioned the producers putting all those people together in two RV's, I didn't say it was J & A's fault LOL. I made no comparisons at all. I just said I'm glad I won't be seeing them again (and again, I am..although mostly it's Jamie, Ashley does seem to be good with the kids..the fun babysitter). Two more people making money off the backs of the kids. I wonder, if there was no money involved, would they still be there?

I don't think anyone should talk in front of the kids about someone in their lives.

I think so. Jamie has been in Kate's life longer than the show has. Hasn't Ashley been in their life since before the show as well?

But a lot has changed in Kate's attitude since then. I know it was said they have made up, and they have been through a lot in each other's lives, but I still wonder if she would still be there now, if not being paid. Ashley has been there a long time. I thought her and her mom were volunteers when Kate first came home from the hospital with the kids.

I doubt we'll ever really know.

Didn't something happen on last week's show with one of Jamie's kids? (and now wondering if the kids were comped for being on the show, as well) To me, that would be more of a relationship strain than the stuff I've seen posted about Monday's show.

Look at what being (or not being) paid did to the relationship between Kate and her brother. Money sure can bring out the worst in people. :(

that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. In their life before the show, but not before the babies.

Since you didn't add Kate into the I'll be happy to never see Jamie and Ashley again sentence it seems that you have more hostility to them.
No one has rode the gravy train longer than Kate.

It's funny how "everybody leaves" Kate - how many "best friends" has she gone through?

Don't worry, she'll always have DMRick. :goodvibes

I stole this from another site. I apologize to the person who wrote it, but it was just too funny not to spread around.....

<<<Oh, Lordy-bee, I'm a genius! I've finally solved the riddle of Kate! It came to me suddenly tonight, as I watched her in the raft.

Think about it:

1) She has an extreme aversion to water.

2) Her horribly dark fake tan must be covering up something.

3) She is often seen with a broom in her hand.

4) She has an unnatural affection for overly gaudy shoes.

5) She is mean to young girls and small dogs.

6) She is inevitably surrounded by munchkins.

7) She lives in a make-believe world where someone behind the scenes is pulling all the strings.

8) She knows someone who lacks courage, someone who lacks heart and someone who lacks bravery - oh, wait - sorry, it's the same person and he's gone now, so that doesn't really count...

Got it yet?? Quick - somebody throw a bucket of water on her and be done with it: "I'm melting, I'm melting!!!"

Me? I'm off to see a Wizard about some pesky flying monkeys... :) >>>>>>

LOVE IT!

Think you have figured it out!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Exactly. This poster only blames Kate for having the kids on the show. She is rotten to the core, Kate that is. TLC is finally showing her true colors to the world, although some of us knew this already. Everyone that leaves has one thing in common, KATE. She is a toxic waste, and her kids would do well to get as far away from her as they can, before they become like her. In fact some of them are, we may be too late.

I have never regularly watched the show. I'll just tune in for a few weeks here and there until I get bored of it again. But this last episode Kate said something about wearing flip flops and that she ALWAYS wears heels. I did remember that Jon used to help her pick out her clothing, but not much else. So I decided to search youtube clips of the 1st season. Her looks have changed dramatically (no heels back then), but her attitude hasn't really. She has always seemed like a horrible person and her attitude has been allowed to go unchecked and worsen because of the success of the show.

I never get why this gets personal. Is there a threat that someone feels when someone wants things to turn out ok for this family?

Yes, she will have me in that I want her employed. That's a lot of kids to support, and I would be surprised if she could be hired as a nurse at this time. People always said they didn't care what she did, as long as the kids aren't on TV. I guess many no longer feel that way. I still do. I want the kids supported, and if they don't have to make too many changes (school, living close to dad, whatever) all the better. I doubt I would watch anything she does, as the kids were always the draw, but I don't want the kids to pay even more for her downfall.

So, once the kids are off TV, do the rest of you want them taken from her? What, and then given to social services? To Jon (could he support them?).

Yes, she will!!

Those that have followed any of the previous Kate threads know what we're talking about.

And have I said somewhere in this thread that I want the show to continue? I think they have all made enough off the kids, and I'm glad the show is done. Do I want Kate to fail on her own? I guess I don't, and if you can make fun of me because of that..go at it. Sorry that I don't hate her, and I hope their lives get back on track.

that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. In their life before the show, but not before the babies.

I read today, that Ashley has been paid to be with the kids off an on (when not in school) for 5 years, and was a volunteer before that. I don't know if it's true..it was on another site.

Yes, I agree..there was a spat between the kids and Kate got involved after one of the kids went and got her. She should have just let it be handled in the RV it happened in. I don't know if there was a history before we saw it. Something about the toys and where they could play with them.

Do you think the news media is picking this up because the show was cancelled?

I have another question. After the RV show was played, I got to see the show where Kate answers Tweet messages. How come Jon only gets to see the kids twice a month and only on the weekend. Whatever happened to Jon and Kate sharing the house, didn't Kate say the house was the kids and they would have joint custody. So whoever had the kids got to stay in the house. How did I miss that Kate got custody. Also Kate made a remark that when they go by Jon, it is just like a sleep over for them, and not their real home. Their real place to stay is at home with her, in the big house. Kate made the comment too, that all the kids should leave their back-packs in the "big blue car", because if they don't, she don't get their backpacks back. She must make it plain ole hell for those kids when they go by Jon.

The support time is up to the courts. Maybe that will change, if Jon is settled down. Maybe Jon has no way to care for them on weekdays..who knows. Hopefully he'll want and ask for and get more time, with the kids no longer shooting for the show.

The house thing didn't work out...it was talked about a lot on old threads. Did anyone who is divorced expect it would have? Maybe the backpacks with school work, etc weren't coming back? I think a lot of what you are asking could be answered by divorced people where it wasn't a 'good' divorce. I read about these things all the time on the Dis. I'm sure both Kate and Jon have issues with each other about the kids.

I think that the change probably boiled down to money and logistics. I recall hearing what you posted (that the mansion would be kids' home and they'd "share" it then the parent-of-the-week). But in order to do that each parent would need to maintain an off-site home or apartment for when it's not their turn to be with the kids in "their" house (so that'd be 3 homes to maintain instead of 2). Also, I believe that Jon left the immediate area to set up his new life and find a job. My guess is would be challenging to find a job that wouldn't mind you only showing up every other week (or for some other "equal time" arrangement).

After the Mt. Rushmore clip, I thought that it's too bad that Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? isn't in production anymore! :lmao:

Perfect! Did you notice that she also said the Grand Canyon was 10,000 miles long?

That is brilliant! Probably not an exact quote but close, "Ashley the nanny should know the kid's mother's bodyguard's culinary peccadillos.":rotfl2:

Yeah, she'll be around for a little while longer, but she doesn't have the talent or personality to stick around long term as a host or entertainer.

I definitely see a dating show in her future. And if that doesn't work, maybe a Dr. Phil special where she says she realizes she has issues and seeks advice on how she treats people and her kids. Of course, I don't think that her intentions will be genuine. She just knows what people think about her and it would be a last-ditch effort to restart her "career" and get her back in the spotlight branded as the "new and improved" Kate that has seen the error of her ways.

If you really want to be sick, look up her twitter account. She tweeted during the last show and of course she was just edited to look like a witch.

Perhaps we should have a thread with a poll. What show will hire Kate? I'm thinking Survivor is also a possibility.

I looked at her twitter account a couple of weeks ago. I don't do twitter, and her tweets mostly consisted of stuff like: "W8 b4 u judge me. U R not the mom of 8" and "Ran 4 8 hrs tday, feel gr8." Makes my eyes hurt.

Don't worry, she'll always have DMRick. :goodvibes

Very true, that!

Do you think the news media is picking this up because the show was cancelled?

.

Yes.

As to the custody arrangement -- that was mediated before the divorce was final, and while Jon was being sued by TLC for breach of contract. There was a lot of discussion about it on the old threads.

Slightly OT, but do any of you watch Quints By Surprise? This follows the Jones family of 1 older daughter and quints (4 girls, 1 boy). Their 2nd season was only 3 weeks long and they were unsure of their future. But soon after Kate Plus 8 was canceled the Jones' hinted on FB that they may be starting filming of their 3rd season soon. Looks like TLC has a replacement for the Gosselins already, though I actually really like this family.

Yes, she will always have me, wanting her to have a job that will allow the kids to be supported without being taped on a show. Shame on me for that. You can make fun of it/me all you want. She's made bad decisions, but I don't think working without the kids is one of them...even if the decision to end wasn't hers. I don't care who's it is, but I want her to be successful in landing a job.

Very true, that!
