My baby (WHO JUST TURNED 5 - 3 WEEKS AGO!!!!) just lost her first tooth!!!! She is my 3rd and final child and just a few days ago I was thinking how sad I would be the day this day came. It would be my sign that my baby girl is getting bigger:sad:....

This is not fair, my other two kids didn't loose their first tooth until 6...6 1/2!!!!!

:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad: I was not ready for this. I know it's just a tooth, but this makes me feel sad.

Sorry - needed to vent.

Awww, must be hard. My baby just turned one so I understand the bittersweetness of it. Hope the tooth fairy is good to her.

Feel free to cry! We understand!

I hear ya! I had a "crying over teeth" moment twice in one week. My 11 year old lost his last baby tooth. I had to leave the room because all the memories of his teeth coming in when he was a baby just hit me like a brick. And then my 7 year olds two front teeth started to come in really fast...no more cute gapless look. What is it about teeth that gets us going?:confused3
Anyway, I have three kids too, and that third one passing the milestones is really tough:sad1:

It's good to know that it's not just me...I called my DH and told him I wanted another baby (j/k - I don't think I'm that sad). It helped because she climbed up next to me and put her little arm around me and told me she would never be too old to snuggle. :lovestruc

Thank you to everyone for the hugs....I knew I could count on my DIS family.

I hear ya OP..My daughter lost her top 2 teeth..She is my ONLY CHILD and I can't have anymore... I get tearful at just about any milestone anymore. My husband thinks I am nuts

I feel your pain. My DD who just turned 6 lost her 1st tooth last week. It was such a sad moment, she is growing up so fast. If only they could stay little forever.

Oh my goodness! My "baby" just turned 5 last week, and I've been doing really well with things. I was great at kindergarten registration, and I was fine through all the birthday parties. But just the other day I was staring at his little baby-tooth smile, and thinking that my DD lost her first tooth when she was just shy of turning 5! I teared up right then. I am not ready to have him not look like a little guy anymore. :( Now my middle DS didn't lose his first tooth until he was nearly 6, so I may still have some time.

But isn't it funny how their teeth can mean so much?

{HUGS} Mama! I know how you feel!

My baby started losing her teeth really early too. She's 7 now (turned 7 in December) and has lost and grown in all 8 front teeth. Those huge "chipmunk" teeth in a little mouth look so funny at first but somehow it all works out.

I was just out to dinner with one of my best friends and she was saying how sad she was that her daughter has lost 2 teeth already and she just turned 5 last week! I said that I thought that was super early and she said that she had heard that it usually isn't until 6 or so. :confused3 I guess you never know what to expect. DD is only one and hasn't even gotten all her teeth so I have a little ways to go until she loses some  But it seems so weird to me that she gets them in, loses them, and then gets them in again :lmao:

Don't feel bad you are not alone. I cried like I had lost a child when the twins went to Kindergarten. It was so bad in fact that the first day of first grade they said "You don't have to cry like last time Mom because we are going to come back":lovestruc I tell them all everyday I can not believe how big they are:hug:

My son came home a few weeks ago and said a classmate in his preschool class lost a tooth, so he wants me to brush his teeth more. Out of the mouths of babes, right! He is in the 3 year preschool class, so some of the kids are 3 and others are 4 (depending on their birthdays). I am sorry that this happened so young. My son is dreading the loss of his teeth. He's my first, so I do not even know what to say about it. It was never something I worried about, so I do not even recall my Dad talking to me about it.

I feel you on kids getting older. It makes me sad to even think about it.

LOL good to hear I am not the only one!

My baby gril just turned 3 yesterday, and I had not said it out loud, until someone asked and I got choked up and had to hold back tears!

After that, I was a complete emotional mess......Just had that heavy stomach ache feeling.

Not to mention I found a gray hair on my birthday this past March! Literally, I woke up to a gray hair that day!

How funny! OK not funny but my dd just turned 5 the beginning of March & lost her first tooth on her birthday. I took her out to lunch at Friendly's & she bit into her hot dog & out came a tooth. A week later the 2nd tooth came out & she has another wiggly one in the front. She is my 3rd & last child as well.

Oh & I am est. in 1971 too!

My first baby turns 5 next week. I am having such a hard time with it. If I had to deal with a loose tooth also, I might have to institutionalized.

Your not nuts. Its okay to feel like that.

I wish i had a child young enough to be loosing teeth!! My youngest is 15. I long for the days when he was little. He's almost 6 feet and likes his time with his friends. We are still close but i'm not the most important person in his life anymore. I miss buying toys. I was at Shoprite the other day and they had the bubble lawn mover for $9.99!! I had nobody to buy it for. Enjoy every minute. It goes so fast.:scared:
