I'm completely ticked off with Disney. I find out today that they started taking reservation for the Pin Celebration July 8 and the breakfast is totally sold out at this point. Nothing was mailed on this event and since I have effectively been offline I am again shut out.
I'm wondering if I should even bother to go. Last year wasn't thebest with no accommodations as they are lousy about giving out infromation in a timely manner. Without knowing what will need an interpreter before hand why should I bother just to go and stand in line to buy pins and not be able to participate in anything.

I am sorry you missed out. If it is any consollation, the event sold out on the first day, and a lot of folks that faxed in a form that day still didn't get in.

There was quite a bit of information on the Dizpins site as to when the registrations would be accepted.

I can't advise you on the right thing for you to do about going, but I do know that there seems to be a big number of people going that are not attending the breakfast.

I'm one of the one who was shut out and has been put on the waiting list (yeah right someone is going to cancel!). Friends have assured me that you probably will get a pin for attending the event and you get to put that day's pin order form in before everyone else, but basically you aren't missing all that much. Besides, Jeff and Mean Laureen's event should more than make up for missing out on some eggs and bacon. Bottom line.....I'm still going.

It is all fine and good that it was on Dizpins but unfortunately I wasn't getting to the computer very much at that point since my ankle was shattered and I was stuck in bed.
It would have been nice if Disney had sent out letters like they did for all the other pin events. I could have had my dh fax for me if I had it and maybe had a chance at the breakfast.

Lisa,

I want to see "ditto" on Daber's post.

You may miss the breakfast (we did last year, and hardly noticed), and not have absolute first shot at Friday's pins...But that's all you'll be missing!

For the next two days, you'll be on even footing (or is that wheeling? ;) ) with everyone else!

And Jeff and Lauri's shindig is not too be missed! Better than Disney (Who said that?? )

And...don't forget....I've been waiting nearly ten months to run interference for you and your "wheels." :smooth: You wouldn't want to deny me this opportunity to mow down unsuspecting sharks, oblivious CMs, and just generally rude people?

Please come. Have fun with friends...whom you haven't even met yet. :teeth:

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel for some on the waiting list, though this won't help the original poster. This morning I noticed that my Disney credit card had been charged twice for the September pin event. I called and asked "if I get 2 sets of everything for me and my husband." Well it seems I was registered not 2 but 3, yes THREE times. Though only charged twice and one charge still pending. They cancelled 2 of my registrations and kept one (they swear they did). Anyway, that looks like 4 breakfast seats just openned up to the waiting list. And I can't imagine that I'm the only one that this happened to. I faxed my form and it finally went while I was sending in my online registration. I called and told them that there might be a duplicate and they said they would delete it. I guess they didn't. So the folks on the waiting list may still have a shot!! Dizpins had the information that the breakfast was coming for months and months before the big day to register. Also the official Disney pin trading web site also had the information posted for a very long time before the registration openned.

Lisa,

Come on down. I still have that pin for you!

It's come on up 3kids4me. I live south of ORlando by about 4 hours. I know I will end up coming but I still am angry about not getting a chance because it was only on the internet. And unfortunately I wasn't able to be on the internet much during that time.
Am waiting to hear from the events manager so I can find out what I will need interpreted. It is way to loud in that building to hear clearly and forget lipreading they way they mike the speakers. I tried last year and it was just an exercise in fustration
