I'm thinking this is a GOOD question about FP

I've noticed that the parks that have EMH in the mornings have some rides that are not part of the EMH. My question is ... can you still get FP's for those rides? For example I notice that at MK Splash Mountain is not an EMH ride...can you still get a FP for that ride when the parks do open really early in the morning? Or do you have to wait till that ride is officially open for the day?

You will have to wait until the park officially opens. The areas of the park not open for EMH will be roped off. You will not have access to those lands until rope drop.

Someone else can correct me, but I "believe" that the FP machines for those rides that aren't officially opened are indeed covered over with big, locked cover "bags" and you cannot use them. Again, I believe I am correct in saying that part of opening a ride for the day entails opening up the FP kiosks, and sometimes they are not opened right away in the morning even IF the ride itself is open....

I think your best plan is to assume that you cannot grab FPs for rides that aren't opened, and then be pleasantly surprised if you discover one is open....

Further, I believe all of Frontierland is NOT open at EMH (again, I could certainly be wrong) -- in any case, when Frontierland opens later than the rest of the park (which is sometimes the case) you cannot even get over to the rides....

Many FP distribution machines are not open (covered up and inoperative) in the mornings (even if the ride happens to be open). Many times they don't uncover the FP machines until it starts getting busier.

Also, areas of the parks not "open" during EMH will be roped-off until the "regular" opening time.

As a specific to SPLASH (andf BTMRR), if you ride when it/they first open (first hour or so) you'll have no trouble... as the lines don't form very quickly early-on.

And that was one of the BEST FP questions, EVER!! :thumbsup2

Frontierland is not a MORNING EMH area.
But Frontierland DOES open at the "regular" park opening time, every day.
(Except for Tom Sawyer's Island... which I alway's consider its own "land" anyway.)

Its Mickey's Toontown Fair and (very occationally) a few rides in ADVENTURELAND that don't open with the "regular" park opening.
But these should be open by about an hour after the rest of the park.

Oh, OK -- I just guess they are a little slower in opening it, or maybe at "off peak" seasons it opens slightly later? I just know that more than once we have been "held" at the ropes across the gateway between Fantasyland and Frontierland b/c Frontierland hadn't opened yet, and I would have sworn that we'd already hit rides in Tomorrowland beforehand (but hey, I'm 44, so my memory may be hazy!)....
