I'm kind of shy posting about this here, but I'd like opinions, so I'll bite the bullet ;)

While at work the other day, I was daydreaming about WDW as usual, and it occured to me that someone needs to write a guidebook geared towards those of us who have a few trips under our belts, and are looking for ways to spice up our trips, and other info that would be of interest such as quiet nooks in the parks, scavenger hunts, etc. I love all of my guidebooks, but they all have the same basic info that most of us know by heart now.

So, given that I've been interrested in a career in travel writing for years now, I've started to consider taking on the challenge of writing the book. I figure it will take me at least a couple of years of research and writing before I can even look into publishing- I want to be realistic- in which time I'd continue to work on getting some travel articles and photography published to build credibility.

So, anyway, do you think this sort of thing would actually go over well? If anyone has any suggestions about the sort of thing you'd like to see in guidebooks that you never do, I'd love you forever for any suggestions.

Feel free to tell me if you think its a silly idea, I want honest opinions!

Thanks!

I DO think it's a good idea - you could certainly give hints to most people on little known facts/places/shortcuts and perhaps slant their trip into a whole new direction. Let me know when it comes out and, if you need a field research agent, I'm your man (well, not really because I'm female, but you know) ... :)

PS - Can I get an autographed copy ?? :p

Sounds like a great idea!!! I would definitely buy one of those!!

What a fun thing to write about! Good luck!!

Thank you guys for all the support! (and Pop Daddy, darling you can *star* in the movie!)

I was thinking last night that I should include a section on solo travel. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, just my opinion, but I think the market on Disney World guides is saturated. I've found, and maybe others have too, that as I've become more "experienced" about WDW, that I get more tips and up to date information from the Internet. I still buy my two standbys-The official and unofficial guides, but that's more for fun.
