It's nice to have the tickets on your room key, but it's not that big of a deal to have them separate. You don't say when your trip is, but if it's more than a couple weeks away, you could look at ordering your tickets from Undercover Tourist. They have a slight discount, and if you sign up for the mousesavers.com newsletter, there is a link in the newsletter that gives you a further discount. You used to be able to have tickets purchased separately added to your room key, but I've heard reports that a change in WDW's computer system is creating problems with that.

If you are going to buy the tickets direct from Disney, you can call and have them added to your room to turn your room-only reservation into a package. Beware that the packages have different cancellation rules than room only reservations. Another option is to purchase the tickets from the resort concierge when you check in and they can be added to your room key right there. That would be better than waiting in line at a ticket booth at park opening.

I'm not sure why you posted this in the DISabilities forum. You will get more responses if you post in the Theme Parks forum.

Take a slow deep breath in then out. Repeat. Continue to repeat until your blood pressure drops.

If you're staying offsite or booking onsite with a room only reservation then it is cheapest to buy tickets in advance from Undercover Tourist using a link in the Mousesavers newsletter. UT is extremely reputable and is an authorized ticket seller. They will mail the tickets to you.

I specified offsite or room only reservation because if you've booked a WDW package then you have to purchase your tickets as part of your package and you will receive them when you check into your resort. They will be electronically coded to your KTTW (Key To The World) card which is also your room key.

I keep my tickets in my jewelry box. You just need to come up with a place that you know you can remember and then make sure others know where you've put them just incase you do forget. I have a spreadsheet with all sorts of planning worksheets, one of which is a packing list. Tickets are an item on the packing list. I do NOT cross off anything on my packing list until it is actually IN a carryon or suitcase, even if I know I have it put aside for the trip. This way I don't forget anything. Also, if I'm worried about forgetting where I've put things like tickets then the bottom of the packing list is where I put notes about where I have stuff for trip. By writing it down I don't need to worry about forgetting.

I booked room only for the cancellation policy and I will not be using the Dining plans, I just am freaking out today. I'm not much for winging it and with my ds and dh its impossible for me to relax:sad1:

With that much lead time, and since you aren't booking a package, I'd go to mousesavers.com and sign up for their newsletter. When you get your first newsletter, click on the link for the Undercover Tourist discounted tickets and order from there. UT will mail the tickets to you, then make sure you put the tickets in your carryon or write down to pack them on your packing list.

And take a deep breath, because the 2nd week of December is a long ways away and you will have plenty of more things to stress about in that time. :flower3:

I can TOTALLY understand where you're coming from. My DD13 has Asperger Syndrome so winging it doesn't work at all for us either. In case you didn't notice, the way I do things is highly structured. My planning spreadsheets are at this point a work of art and highly detailed with crowd levels by day, my own itenerary by day including ADRs and park hours as well as detailed touring plans per day. The touring plans even have breaks, down time and even "spontanious options" scheduled into the plan (that's in quotes because I don't tell DH that it's scheduled because he likes to be able to change some things up on the fly and this way he's convinced that he's getting to do this but I still get my structured schedule). Things that I worry I might forget are immediately entered into my spreadsheet because I'd be nervous wreck if I thought I might forget something.

I'd order tickets from Undercover Tourist. First subscribe to the Mousesavers monthly newsletter then order after you recieve that newsletter. The newsletter contains a link with even better discounts than what you see on the site. The savings aren't huge but they are savings.

If it causes you any anxiety though about possibly losing them, I suggest you just skip the discount and buy the tickets when you arrive. This way you still have a room only cancellation policy and you don't need to worry about losing anything. It's very easy to buy tickets when you're checking in if you want them attached to your KTTW card or at Guest Relations if you want them separate.

The first meltdown, never guessed it would be me!

Thanks for the help:love:

This is the perfect place for you to have your own meltdown. Embrace it!!! LOL

On TGM, I saw that you were given a great piece of advice that I totally missed. You want the room only reservation for the cancellation policy. Well, if you order tickets from UT like I had suggested then you're prepaying for that portion of your trip. Just get them at check-in or when you go to Guest Relations for your GAC (I'm assuming you're going to need some kind of GAC when dealing with severe autism and epilepsy even if it's just a stroller as a wheelchair tag). This way, if you do have to cancel then you haven't paid anything yet.

I will do that, it just seem the easier way. Thank you all

Once you have your tickets, in whatever form they may be, take a picture or photocopy of the back of each one so you have your ticket numbers and information. That way, even if you do lose all the tickets you can just stop by a ticket window and have them reprinted. It's quick and easy if you have the numbers, and even deactivates the old tickets in case someone tries to use them. :wizard:

My dh learned this from the DIS :thumbsup2

Have you all ever deactivated your cards? And if so what did you do?

You cannot "deactivate" your own card.

If you damage the magnetic stripe, at the windows we can still read either the bar code or the serial number and will reissue the ticket (keeping the old one).

If you lose your ticket, or forget it in your room, we have ways to locate the ticket in the Automated Ticketing System. If this happens we will reissue a new ticket with the same serial number and the rame history. At this point the old ticket is calcelled in the system and cannot be used.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #13, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

I tend to be forgetful and I have a hard time focusing on things. (Sometimes I think I have the ADD, instead of our oldest!) On our last trip, we left our room in such a hurry that I forgot half the tickets. It was a disaster. I didn't know where my husband and half the kids were, I only had two with me, it was 8:55 and the boys had haircuts at the barber shop at MK at 9. I panicked when I didn't have the tickets. I didn't need to worry though. The security guy sent me over to guest relations, they looked up my room number at BLT, reissued tickets for my boys and I, called Harmony barber shop to tell them we were there and would arrive at the barbershop soon, and they even through in a special yellow one time use fastpass certificate to help me have a more magical day. It was the best experience ever!!

So, OP, whatever you decide to do with your tickets, keep in mind that if you have the numbers, or if they are hooked up to your room key, guest relations can save you!

Good luck to you! :wizard:

I am so hoping for a magical time, but I am soooooooooooooo nervous:eek:
I'm doing my research:surfweb: Thank guys for being so helpful:love:
