I'm thankful for...MICKEY!!! My Thanksgiving '08 TR!: TR Update, Last Day!

Hi Julie- I loved WP (even though it's in DD) the best I think and I've only eaten at Sci-Fi in DHS. I tried to get into Boma and can't, I'm so bummed! I've heard so many good things about it from everyone.

I have some questions! I am going to make a couple more ADRs and I have to decide where to make them.

1. What is your favorite TS restaurant at WDW?
2. What is your favorite TS at DHS?

Thanks!

1. 1900 Park Fare for dinner, Boma for dinner and the Kona Cafe for lunch
2. Sci-Fi Dine In - that place was so much fun and the food was great!

Hey everyone! Life got really busy for me for a while there. We had a house full of visitors last weekend (mother in law, DH's grandparents, and brother in law). Then work has been crazy this week. And this weekend, I'm going "home" to Chicago to see my family, see my friend's new baby, and help my cousin shop for a wedding gown.

Included in the weekend plans is a Disney meeting in which we will make decisions on ADRs. Thank you for all of your suggestions...I will ask my family about all those places.

1. I LOVE 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. I'm trying dinner next month. Kona is great. I love Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill. And I do love Cinderella's Royal Table.

2. I've only been to 50s Prime Time Cafe. We love it. The s'mores dessert is great. We're trying Brown Derby in August.

I'm so interested in Brown Derby, but it's so expensive. Everyone who has written about it has loved it, so it must be good!

A s'mores dessert sounds delicious!

Favorite TS: Boma (of course) and Teppan Edo.

Favorite TS at DHS: Sci-Fi -- stick with burgers, fries, and milkshakes, but the atmosphere and cheesy science fiction film clips from the 1950's are a hoot!

Boma is already on our list. Yummy!

I'm going to lobby hard for Teppan Edo. It sounds so good!

1. California Grill, Flying Fish or Jiko.
2. Prime Time or Brown Derby.

Another one for Brown Derby. Hmmm....

1. Crystal Palace
2. Brown Derby

Brown Derby sounded so good in your TR...

That's one of the ADRs we had scheduled on our last trip. We ended up canceling, though, because we didn't want to use up our time in a restaurant. So non-commital!

Er, considering I have very little experience in the ways of TS at WDW (read: not enough for a fair comparison, which will be rectified the next time around:thumbsup2 ) I'm sitting this one out. :sad1: Sorry!

I'm hoping to have a few more reviews under my belt this time as well.

My favorite is Boma but you are already eating there. If price doesn't really matter DH and I love Jiko and will be eating there again in Oct. I also really like Le Cellier and Kona Cafe was yummy. Oh and so was Grand Floridian Cafe. Those are now our must do's on upcoming trips. I have GF Cafe twice and both times the food and service was excellent and so was the dessert!

I actually have never eaten a TS at DHS; none of the menus or ambiance appeals to me or DH.

Keep us updated on what you choose!!!

I've been to Jiko and Le Cellier. Both delicious, but I would like to try new things.

Kona always looks wonderful in TRs.

And Grand Floridian Cafe...I haven't even thought about that.

DH and I had a date night at the Yatchman Steakhouse - it was yummy.
50's PTC is great!

I am a plain Jane meat & potatoes kind of eater so those are my recommendations - but I think you might be a little more adventurous.

50s Prime time has a lot of votes...

WP does sounds good. I'm not sure if we'll be visiting DTD this trip.

Bummer about Boma. I love that place!

1. 1900 Park Fare for dinner, Boma for dinner and the Kona Cafe for lunch
2. Sci-Fi Dine In - that place was so much fun and the food was great!

Another one for 1900 Park Fare. I have to read up on that place.

What did you eat at Sci Fi?

Have you made any additional ADRs?

Not yet!

Yay! I'm finally caught up! I guess there are some good things about having a work computer that has the bare amount of RAM required to run graphics-intense software. Lots of time to kill while I'm waiting for files to open/close/save/whatever. :headache:

I must say I have trip envy! Greece is now on my must-visit list, and I'd already been thinking of setting my next novel in Vegas, so I think a "research" trip is in order! The increased veracity will make me more likely to get published, right? :rotfl:

Here she goes - on the road again! Have lots of fun with your family. You get to see a new baby! That'll be fun! ADR planning will be, as well.

I'm insisting on Boma for next summer's trip. I keep saying it, and everyone keeps ignoring me, but maybe if I ask for it to be my birthday dinner they'll give in. I think they're just afraid that it is too exotic, but I am looking very forward to trying out some new and different food items.

Hope you have a great trip home to Chicago!

I also think you should really look into GF Cafe menu...it had yummy desserts. :goodvibes

Hi Julie! I'm just checking in to say I hope you're having a great time in Chicago!

Hi everyone!

I'm here! I had a wonderful weekend in Chicago. I shopped for wedding gowns with my cousin, I saw my friend's brand new baby, and I got to see tons of my friends and family. It was perfect.

I returned Sunday night and I've had a busy week which has left me very little time for the DIS. :sad2:

Hopefully, I'll get back to my regularly scheduled DISing this weekend.

For now, though, here's a pic of my new hair!

Old hair:

New hair:

Before you look at the pic, keep in mind that it was humid and we had been outside playing beanbags, so my hair style was messed up. The color is what I want to be on display here! Oh, and I was laughing when the pic was taken. I'm sorry that I had to crop out the beautiful baby!

Okay, here's the pic

How do you like the darker color?!?

This weekend, I will post an update on ADRs (after I call to make our new ones!)

p.s. I'm going to San Diego in two weeks for my first 29th birthday!!! (I'm sure I will have MANY more 29th birthdays. My mom had me convinced until I was about 11 years old that she was still 29. Too bad she was 36 when I was born!)

I love the darker color on you! I think it looks great.:goodvibes

Happy to hear you had a good time and that you're back and ready to DIS...at least until your next trip! This seems like a great travel year for you, I'm a little jealous. How wonderful to go all these different places, and I get to live vicariously through by reading all about it here! Ah, I love the DIS!:goodvibes

Welcome back - until you take off again, that is!

So when November rolls around and we're having our big meet, should we be looking for a blonde, a brunette, a redhead....maybe pitch black with a purple or red streak?

I'd say if that is what it looks like when it's messed up, you're certainly doing okay!

Glad you got to see the new baby. We'll look forward to hearing about your ADR selections. Have a good Friday!

Hi! Welcome back - I'm glad you had a great time! I love your new hair color!

Hello!

New subscriber alert! I found your report this morning and have read ALL 59 pages over the course of my morning at work. I have been doing a REALLY boring job and it hasn't been half as bad as I've been able to sneakily read your report every 5mins or so!

Your plans sound amazing - if it helps, I have these dining tips...

CS restaurant in MK - def. recommend Pecos Bills or Columbia Harbour House. I had THE most delicious pulled pork sandwich at Pecos Bills and the Fixins Bar is cool too! We did the 'Keys to the Kingdom' tour one morning and lunch at CHH was included - it was so tasty. I'm English, and yes, I do love fish and chips - believe me, these were yummy!!!

TS restaurants - we did Sci Fi at HS, the food was ok, not bad at all, just ok, but with the atmosphere, it was very worthwhile.
We also did Le Cellier at Epcot, one of the best meals of our trip!!! We ate at Jiko too as we stayed at the AKL - again one of the best meals of the trip.

My hubby sounds like yours - he likes Disney holidays but isn't fanatical about them. He's happy to go, but wouldn't go as often as I would (if I could!). He also thinks it just costs way too much to go (especially as we live in England). He seems to think there is more to Orlando and Florida than Disney - he's crazy I know!!!

Anyway, I can't wait to read more!

xxx
