How do you find out if a wait list request does come through? Do they call ?

you look online and see your new reservation.

if you look online and see your old reservation, then the waitlist has not come through.

they used to call but i don't think they do any more.

It was posted recently that someone received an e-mail confirmation when their waitlist came through.

But otherwise, check your member site to see what's up.

I'm trying very hard not to bring in my opinions of how Disney runs the waitlist system.

That's my understanding too, if you got an email verification initially you'll get an email when you WL comes through. But I like to check my account on the MS website from time to time.

When we had a waitlist come through last year, we received a new confirmation in the mail about a week after we noticed the change online. It does seem that DVC may be using e-mail more than they used to. I don't remember received online confirmations at all previously, but we did received an online confirmation for a reservation we just made.

Definitely make sure you check the member website. I recently had a waitlist come through and I did not receive an email confirmation.

I'd actually call MS regularly to check. Twice we've had wait lists miraculously come through at the very time I called. I suspect that if you call they do a manual search and if the days are available you get it. No one seems to really know how the automated system works, but it looks like it does not run continuously. It appears that if you happen to ask for the days before the automated system runs on all the wait lists, you get the days. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like too much of a coincidence that twice I would have called right as the wait list came through. May be I'm too suspicious (like Michael Banks).

They send an email notification about your reservation. I've gotten 2 waitlists in the past month so I've received it twice.

We had a waitlist for Thanksgiving weekend. I checked online every couple days and sometimes daily for over a month. We went out of town and I did not check several days but got an email comfirmation. I had kinda given up hope but am very excited!
