It's been two years since our last trip to the world. I caved and made reservations today for December.:rolleyes1 I couold try to play it off as an anniversary present but I already bought my husband tickets for an Indianpolis Colts game.

Maybe I can play it off an early Christmas present or a welcome home present to us. It doesn't help seeing all these trip reports and excitment for upcoming trips.

I'm going to break the news by email tonight. I know Matt won't be mad, we just hadn't discussed a trip.

So we are going to be WDW Dec 1-5th at Coronado.:cool1: :cool1: I'm planning to sell the trip with free food. Nothing speak to his pocket like the word free;)

We've never been at Christmas so that's my other selling point. Who has done the candlelight processional? Is it worth it? What about the Christmas Party?

BTW if you are on the fence about booking for December, the reservation lady today had to look hard to even find something avilable. They are almost booked solid for the month of December already.

The Candlelight Processional is by far my most favorite Disney show. VERY worth it!

You and your DH soooo deserve a trip to the World. No justification needed. Have a great time :)

I disagree. I honestly think that if you watch it from the back of the area you would be just fine. We were a few rows from the stage and it was too close/too loud.

We loved the Candlelight Processional, sat about halfway back.

I hope you have an incredible trip, Tina.

Free food? Wait a minute -- how did you score that? We get there the 5th.

You won't be getting any objection from us! :rotfl: Plus, like yeah, if anyone deserves a Disney trip, it's the two of you! Coronado is awesome and December sounds just perfect for an anniversary/welcome home celebration! :lovestruc

You are going at my FAVORITE time of the year in WDW!!!! You are going to LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes It's so beautiful at that time!

I'll be leaving in 10 days for our 20th anniversary - staying at Coronado too! :thumbsup2

Go and enjoy the Osbourne lites for me. I was so hoping to see them in Nov. (lol)-Samantha Brown did last year-she did a special for the 2nd week of NOv. This year they are not turning them on till after Thanksgiving.

Have a great time.

Thanks ya'll, I'm going to read up on the candlight thing and the Christmas party and make a decision after seeing what Matt is interested in.

Barb, I don't know if everyone got an email for free dinning but my husband did and I mentioned it when making a reservation. I didn't have the code or anything but she still booked with it. Lucky us.

Free Dinning was an offer with Disney Visa.
It was a great deal. I am happy you got it, Tina.

I loved the Candlelight Processional. It is free. However, with a paid for meal at certain places you can reserve seats in certain area 9not the "seats themselves". I think all the seats were good ones. I figure that you have to eat anyway so you might as well enjoy it sitting down.

The Osbourne lights are just something that makes your jaw drop. Do NOT miss seeing them.

The party, well, if you have the $, it is fun enough but it is an expensive add-on IMHO. They used to offer more with it and just like with other things, they've trimmed down what you get with it. So, if you want to do it to experience it, go for it. But I would not strap myself moneywise to do it. Yeah, I'm talking in circles.

I think the one thing that you MUST do is see the decorations at the Epcot resort area. The tree at the S/D is totally awesome. Eye-popping huge.
The Boardwalk check in area is so, so pretty. My mom liked it even better that the GF! Then walk over and through the YC and BC. Pretty stuff all the way through. The GF is something to see though. That gingerbread house and all of that...it is just WOW.

I love the parks at the holidays. heck, I just love the park anytime. I'm a bad one to ask. I'll be at the S/D next weekend for a few nights and I cannot wait to see all of it again. It is like coming home!!

When does matt get in? I am trying to talk mom into a short dec. trip for her b-day to see all the Christmas stuff. She's worried about the financial picture right now so as of tonight, she's not going anywhere in Dec.

Oh and I meant to ask, who is doing the reading during the time you are there? If it is Kirk Cameron, I say go for the CP. I saw him 2 years ago and he does a great job. He's a Christian so the whole reading is from his heart and has so much meaning to it. He said a few words afterward that were very heartfelt also. I really enjoyed him and the deaf interpreter's work. She almost danced as she signed--I could not take my eyes off her!

Yay!!! Go and have fun! I got the free dining email but alas, can't use it. :( Will you say hi to Mickey for me? I'll be thinking of you as I'm trying to get 7th graders to think of grammar instead of Christmas. :)

:yay: :yay: I am so happy for you!

I have to admit, I book vacations during deployments all the time. :thumbsup2

This whole site revolves around peer pressure! GO TO WDW!
My sister's wedding shower was this weekend and they are huge Dis-freaks. Anyway, one of the games was a finish the quote thing and one said- Love means...I wrote- never having to justify another trip to WDW!:rotfl2:

Have a wonderful trip! The holiday decorations are fun, though being from the north and going to Florida at that time of year, it's like they're pretending it's Christmas time. :lmao:

I guess Im getting the best of both worlds in December. Florida in December and then Michigan at Christmas. Almost like the pleasures before the pain:rotfl:

Ah Tina, you and Matt will have a wonderful time! This is the week that DH and I usually go, but he is also deployed now and will have his R&R in Feb, so I planned a trip for then! He had no objections!

We love Osbourne Lights. We only did the CP once and while we enjoyed it, we didn't really get "into" it. Neither of us are Christians, but if you are, I would highly recommend it. We saw Gary Sinese and he was fantastic.

We got to MVMCP every year and always love it. We primarily go for the shows and the parade- it was amazing. Also, we get to see everyone in their Christmas attire. If you can swing the cost I would go.

Don't miss going to EPCOT and touring all the countries. Each one has their own version of "santa" that is out and tells the story of Christmas in that country. It's very interesting and magical.

Have a wonderful trip!
