I'm so torn- trying to nail down which resort

we have never stayed in anything but a value. We are planning a trip for March and trying to decide between Art of Animation (nemo suite) or a regular room at Beach Club. We love Epcot so I would love to be that close, but BC doesn't have a good selection of quick breakfast items. We love Art of Animations food court because it's easy with kids. My parents will be with us and helping with the costs, so that's not a huge concern. Help me decide!

I would go beach club bc its close to Epcot and also their pool is the most amazing pool on Disney property! That alone is a winner in my book!

Your husband is a grown up. He can wait until you get into the park and get something then!

Kids tend to be the problem point. You wouldn't like my youngest before breakfast. I predict she'll be a coffee fiend by 12.

Beach Club, best resort we have stayed at! Your husband can walk over to Boardwalk and find something to his liking if he can't find anything to his liking at BC.

Beach Club hands down! The pool is amazing.

I actually thought the Beach Club was pretty ok for a good breakfast. He can get a bounty platter or a breakfast sandwich. They also have bagels and pastries. He would just have to get down there a bit early because they aren't the fastest.

Probably an unpopular opinion but we didn't like BC. One of many reasons being the lack of QS choices. We tried getting something at the outdoor bar area where we were attacked by birds and one of them even bit my hand trying to get my food. :crazy2: We thought the pool seemed "dirty" because of the sandy bottom. Having to walk across hot concrete to get from one area to another was a major foot owie.

Call us crazy but we actually prefer the Pop over BC. That particular trip we did a split stay between the two resorts. We even stayed CL at BC. The only thing we liked about BC over Pop was that the beds were more comfortable.

Another one for BC. First, I would not pay deluxe prices for a value resort, which is what you are doing with AoA suites. As far as the QS options, there are breakfast options there, or you can wander over to BW or you can wander over to Swan/Dolphin. All within a quick walking distance and it's a really nice walk. Of course, you also have Epcot at the your back door, which means you can wait until 9 when it opens and go to Sunshine Seasons or France or Norway or Mexico.

Would y'all get 2 rooms at BC and just the suite at AofA?

I ask b/c although it looks neat I'm not sure the fold down bed would be comparable to a regular bed comfort wise. If you were going to get 2 rooms at BC and a suite plus a Little Mermaid room (still think BC would be more $$ that way), I'm going to swim against the tide of public opinion and say AofA.

1) they have a great pool too and it's not as confusing (SAB has twists and turns and sometimes hard to find people...I'm the odd man out but do not like this pool)

2) food court

3) if one were to have a suite and a standard room--3 bathrooms. Can you ever have too many bathrooms? I think not.

Beach Club. We've stayed at BC many times and AOA once. The overall atmosphere at BC creates an entirely different vacation, in our experience. As for quick service, we've stayed at nearly all the Disney resorts (some known for their quick service options) but find that more than two days of the same place for breakfast gets boring anyway - whether it's a value food court, Captain Cooks, Roaring Forks, etc. The benefit of the Epcot area resorts is the variety. If we want quick cereal or pastries etc., BC Marketplace has a whole variety of grocery and bakery items. If you'd like more, BC Marketplace now serves Mickey waffles in addition to the bounty platter, oatmeal, grits and the breakfast sandwich. (The same # of options that are available at Captain Cooks.) Or you can walk over to the Boardwalk Bakery. With park admission, you can grab breakfast at all the places loves to dive mentioned. And the Picabu at the Dolphin (a 9 minute walk) has a full breakfast menu.

BC is my favorite resort so I am definitely biased. Having admitted that, I would say if your only chance to stay in the BC because of cost will be this opportunity, then go for it. The resort is beautiful, the pool is amazing and the location can't be beat. You can walk to 2 parks and you have the Boardwalk across the lake for night time entertainment.
I would never pick a resort for its food options unless it is the only place I'd be able to eat during my stay. Since your dh will be able to find plenty of options for breakfast on WDW property a quick coffee and pastry can hold him over until he gets there.

BC would be my choice for location and comfort, but we don't usually get breakfast before the day starts, so that doesn't factor into our needs.

I would go Beach Club for the pool and the proximity to Epcot. There is just something so awesome about being able to walk to a resort at the start of a day and not have to wait on that transportation.

The pool at AoA is nice and all but as other have said, you are paying Deluxe prices to stay in a suite at AoA most times. The Little Mermaid rooms are also quite small (if you were planning on 2 of those instead of one suite).

Beach Club!!! Not having to deal with 2 bus rides (Epcot & studios) is worth it alone. If you don't like any of the breakfast items at BC, the Boardwalk bakery also has some good choices.

Our choice for September would have been BC but we decided late and couldn't get a regular room. Only club was available so the next cheapest was actually GF so we took that. I like being close to two parks. There is some limited Qs but the store gives some choices or the pool dining. I love the Yacht Club and Cape May Cafe. Captains Grille almost always has availability with nearly the same menu as Yacht Club. Beaches and Cream is fun but now takes reservations so it's harder to get in to. And ESPN Club is a short walk down the Boardwalk where you have a couple other dining choices and a bakery for some morning sweets a coffee. I like seeing Illumnations and being a five minute walk from my room. And lastly the pool is fun especially the shallow side for little ones. Bus service tends to be decent as well. AofA is nice (well be there one night in Sept.) but you won't go back after you stay at BC.

I don't think you'll find many people who'd pick a Value over a Deluxe given the choice! We did BC when my mom went with us because we could split the cost and make it more affordable to stay. Since you have that opportunity as well and can try a Deluxe for the first time, I would definitely pick BC! I know people complain about the QS options, but for breakfast the Marketplace was fine for us. We are not big QS breakfast eaters however. They have the same waffle/egg platter options that I've seen at other resorts. I'm not a fan of those. If it were me, I'd stock up on yogurt, granola or plan to walk to the Boardwalk Bakery or else wait to eat in the parks. Also, in terms of convenience with children...NOT having to load a bus with kids to get to Epcot or DHS is a huge convenience and would far outweigh the food court issue.
