I'm so out of the loop - Who can explain 420?

DD is 14 and in middle school and she told me about this the other day, 4-19. She didn't know why they call it 420 but knew it was a day for kids who smoke pot. She also said in her school if you wear green that day your letting the other students know you do smoke pot. That was the first I ever heard of this.

Apparently it's a pretty big thing at DD's school. A kid from down the street who used to hang out with DD a little while back, was one of the arrested kids. I was a bit shocked, but then again, nothing should shock me anymore.

4:20 as I know it is international weed smoking time. It's referred to a lot in movies. It's a stupid pothead thing, if they happen to see a clock at 4:20 they can say 4:20, time to smoke.

I went from 4:20 guy to an it's 5 o'clock somewhere guy. I must be getting old.

When I went to school during the era where every teen had a beeper, 420 was also the code someone would use when they wanted to buy pot from someone. I.E. they'd page the dealer with 420 and the dealer would call back asking how much they wanted and where to meet up.

wow, I really do feel old now. I graduated in the 80's and never heard of anything like this. Nice to know about this though since I have twin teenaged boys. I'll sure remember this next year.

Waco and OKC were 4/19. Columbine was 4/20. April 20 is also Hitler's birthday and there are some wackos who like to celebrate that.

Didn't have any idea about the marijuana connection.
