And why not all of you cause you will understand....

Construction started on Wednesday on our basement and MY SCRAPBOOK ROOM!!!!!!!

I am soooooo excited. I couldn't wait to go home on Wednesday to see what they had done and I got home and all of the framing (well most of it) was done. So I actually got to see my room as it will be - well kinda sorta. So them my daughter and I were going back and forth - this will go here, this can go there, this might have room here. It was too funny!!!!

I'm taking pictures from start to finish so I can scrap the scrapbook space.

Thanks for letting me share.

Good for you. I would love to have my own scrap space.....one of these day.

Woohoo!!!

Congrats! I have my "room" thats got my movies and my stuff and I love it- course I still scrapbook on the floor... but its all good :) -em

Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got mine the week before christmas. You will be amazed how much more room you will need once you have more room. You will probably spend the first month rearranging it over and over. I have finally really started up again. I am done rearranging. Have fun and take lots of pictires of the work in progress. I had also drawn up plans of how it would look finshed but mine looks nothing like what I drew. Post photos when it is done.:goodvibes :cool1:

That's so awesome!! I can't wait to see your photos when it's done. I wish that were me getting a scrap room.

I am so jealous!!!! That is awesome! Make sure you show us pictures when it is all done!

You lucky dog!! I am envious! I have to use the dining room table, and I waste more time getting stuff out and putting it away. How wonderful it must be to have a space that's all yours. Enjoy!!

How wonderful! My DH just finished making me my own scrap/craft room out of one of our unoccupied bedrooms. I just love it. He bought me cabinets and made me a counter that is six feet long, and also hung cabinets on the wall. It's still needs a few finishing touches, and when they're done I'll post some pictures.:D

YEA! I know I love having a work room. I can just walk away and close the door. I do share it a little with DH - he has the closet for storage, and the piano is in there which DS uses to work on his music for voice lessons.

But it is still mainly mine and I can leave stuff out that is in progress.

One idea if there is room. It just evolved that the back wall in my room was "pre-established" with a hideabed sofa. We NEVER use the bed part and usually half the sofa is covered with "stuff" as it is at the end of the table I use. But it is where my kids (both teens) will wander in and park while I'm scrapping. Very laid back and casual but it opens up some conversation opportunity. Because I'm scrapping and they are just "hanging" it isn't so intense.

If your kids are younger it may not be something you want to encourage though! :p

YEA!! for you!! I have a designated area in the basement since christmas and it has already made a difference in my productivity! ENJOY!

That is so wonderful. My DH suprised me with my own "scrap room" in the basement of our house when we finished off our basement. To say the least...I LOVE IT!!!

I have a "corner" in the playroom/computer room and I LOVE IT!! I have my own desk and shelves. I have four DDs and they know that no one goes near mommies desk and no one touches her stuff. My DD13 and DD15 are really into scrapbooking now, so I have to keep a CLOSE eye!!!

Have a great time in your new room!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well I haven't had any time to do any updates and I don't have pics to post yet but I wanted to tell you it is really shaping up nicely. The drywall was done last week, the painter came yesterday, and today they hung the baseboard/trim and the doors. It really is shaping into a great place. Now what's left is the ceiling (doing that on Tuesday), the light fixtures (sometime next week also) and then the carpet which won't happen until May 3 or 4 as we have to have the basement steps totally redone (taken out and new put in) and the carpet can't go in until the stairs are done.

So no moving into the room until probably Mother's Day weekend or after, which is fine with me. It will give me a bit of time to think about shelving I may want and the sponge painting that I want to do. DD has ideas for her room too which is next to mine and I'm guessing that will be a bit of a higher priority so we can get her junk out of the family room.

The color we chose is a light blue. It looks real nice with the white trim and doors. Looks crisp and clean. And the sun shows nicely through the two windows we have....I can't wait until it's done. A few more weeks.
