Forgive me for my ignorace, but I'm a bit confused on most likely the simpliest part of planning a WDW trip! And that's where/how I go about buying the specific vacation package I want.

I know all the specifics:
Hotel: Five nights Wilderness Lodge
4-day MYW base ticket
Dining package

What I'm very confused about is how/where to do this. I know I can book the room through a myriad of places (Disney, AAA, online travel web sites, the numerous travel agents specially trained for Dinsey, etc.) - what I'm not sure about is how to book the MYW package with the dining option.

When I see the MYW tickets on web sites that sell them (won't list names so I don't break any rules), I never, ever see the Dining Package as an add-on, I just see the park hopper, water parks, etc.

Can you only purchase the dining package through Disney or a qualified Disney travel agency (Such as Small World Vacations)?

And if so, must I book the hotel through them as well, or can I book the hotel through an independent company and purchase the MYW/dining tickets through Disney?

I'm just so confused! Moderators, if this is the wrong board please feel free to move - I wasn't sure where exactly to pose questions like this.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm sure there may be cheaper places out there  , but I've always booked our entire package on line at disneyworld.com - hotel, park tickets & the dining plan.

You can't just add the dining option onto tickets - it's all part of a whole package deal, which would also include your room.

We booked our last trip through Dreams Unlimited Travel and were 110% satisfied with them! http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com You can also book from Disney's web site (or call CRO). If you simply go to the main DIS page (click Disney World Info above) you should also get some ideas on where to book your package.

Good luck - we LOVED the dining option! So much food, so little time....:goodvibes

As the OP said, dining is part of a package which must include resort stay, dining plan and at least a 1 day park pass. You can book with Disney, AAA or any travel agent. You can not however buy discounted tickets from a broker, as your tickets must be part of your room package

Happy travels
Sandy

OK, thanks for clearing that up for me everyone.

One more question (sorry for all the questions this early! ;) ), but I visited the wdwinfo.com (wow, I was unaware that existed - holy cow!) and followed some links and saw they are only offering the dining package to be either 3 nights/4 days or 6 nights/7 days. Can you get this custom-fit to your personal schedule? We'll be there for five nights (can't travel for any more) and can't book the full 6 night package - is it possible to adjust that package (not just the tickets, which I know you can) to be less nights?

Thanks again!
Chris

I would suggest since you are new and have questions to book straight through Disney by calling them. If you had a specific TA you liked/trusted, I would say go through them. But since you don't -- call the source directly -- Disney. that way you will get what you want, get the info, and have control over your trip.

You can book the package for as many nights as you want. What you see on the sites is sample pricing. Go to disneyworld.com, that is Disney's website for Disney World. There you will be able to put in your dates of travel, people going, ages, resort, and package options. They will price it out for you. Than if you feel better talking to someone on the phone, call Disney and give them all the information you decided on and they'll give you a price, make sure it's the same one you got from the website. They can book it for you. Or just book it yourself on the web. You can also call a travel agent, but make sure they have knowledge of Disney.

Yes you can custom fit this to exactly what you want. I suggest you go to http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and fill out a request for a package with everything you want. What will happen is that an agent will be in touch with you via email - they will prepare a no obligation quote for exactly what you requested. This will get you started and you can take if from there working with your agent to be sure it is just what you want before you purchase.

We booked with AAA, everything we did with them was perfect. But when I had ANY questions it was easier to call Disney direct! I now know it would have been just as easy to book with them!! If only we had hind sight!!!!

I have some questions about booking also and thank everyone in advance for answers. I'm leaning towards booking room only thru Disney right now because it allows me the flexibility to change if a better rate comes up. However, we do want the dining + park passes. Can we add these in at a later date and will we get them for the same price as offered in the package deal?

You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the information - you all are a great source of information. :)

Have a great Monday,
Chris

Tink Lover -- You would be going from a Room Only to a WDTC package. The packages, components and pricing are subject to availability. There probably will not be an issue. But just an FYI.
I think many believe they can just add on components to a Room Only res. But with that, most likely you are changing from CRO to WDTC.
On-line bookings and packages = WDTC
Room Only = CRO

And you may pay a higher room rate, depending on variables. (Not an expert in this area,) It really just depends on what WDTC packages are available for what suits your needs.

Thanks for the reply! I think I just really lucked out this morning and was able to book the whole package thru WDTC site in a family suite. I had been trying to get this for a while with no luck. Someone must have cancelled and it was my lucky day - Peak season, spring break!
