Here in Massachusetts we don't get paid for jury duty if our job pays for it.

Same here in NY. I served a few years ago and I remember filling out a form that asked if our employer paid us for jury service and for how many days. If you answered yes, you wouldn't get the jury duty pay (which I think was $40/day).

I actually didn't mind it - I served for 3 days and only had to go into the courtroom on the last day, and never even got called up for questioning. It was kind of boring but it could've been worse. On one of the days we got released early and I just went home instead of going in to work, oops. Hahaha. And I still have 4 more years before I can be called again. (Here its every 7 years.)

My son got $15 yesterday for doing jury duty, they say it's to help with lunch.

I guess Florida is not too bad. We get $15 a day, and they validate our parking.

Just recieved my big $5.00 check from the State on NJ for jury duty.
I think the paper plus postage probably cost more than the check.

I think I'll blow my budget and go get a Rita's gelato on this hot day.

In the county I live in the jury pay is $19/day plus validated parking.

This thread reminds me of a scene in one of my favorite movies "Trading Places".
It's the scene where Randolph Duke gives the butler $5 as a Christmas bonus and Randolph's brother, Mortimer, says "Half of that is from me". Then the butler replies - "Maybe I'll go to the movies.....by myself".

That's all fixed. Now that they aren't paying into the teachers' pension and the school lunch program the jurors will be all set...

I got my check for Jury duty today too! we get $10 a day and validated parking. My employer graciously told me to keep the cash and they paid me too! (thank goodness, $10/day doesn't buy groceries! LOL)

We get $7 per day here. Since my employer pays us for jury duty, we have to turn the checks over to them.

My last jury duty experience -about 3 years ago was a murder trial. I was the 1st alternate; had to sit through entire proceedings but couldn't vote. I was paid nothing but they did validate my parking as long as I parked in the proper lot. Interesting experience.
