I'm Ordering a big BLT for Thanksgiving 2010 NEW 12/3 started TR! see link

The other 3 Lists….

Naomi-Ruth:

3) Play with Mickey…(well who wouldn’t want to do that let’s have a meet and greet w/ the Big Cheese for some face to face play time shall we…options in park or at our Chef Mickey’s breakfast) Here is Mickey playing w/ Naomi-Ruth last yr and her blankie…

Matt:

And for a sneaky write in: sneak into old river country….um the bail money was spent on a new watch for your wife….hehehe…he actually found a thread all about this once on the Disboards about some person or CM who walked all around old River Country just documenting how basically its all still there just nature run amuck over it…

Julie:

2) Try new snacks and drinks…(don’t worry this will have a whole post just dedicated to it…but a few that stick out…the Butterfinger cupcake at SRC in DHS and my first ever Dole Whip plus CP has me enticed by her drinks from World Showcase…where to start?) here's my favorite...

mickeyricekrispie.jpg

4) Have some awesome DISmeets! ..(I know irishdancer and her family we’ll try to meet up once or twice while we are there and jillyb and her family we are going to try and work out one meet as well, plus it would be super cool if Becky and I might be able to work out a visit too during our last two days and her 1st two depending on their arrival…now I have tried in the past like meet Carissa at Sci-Fi but we both forgot the #’s duh)

:disrocks:

I love that picture of Naomi-Ruth with Mickey!!

I have read that River Country thread... it's really cool!! My one and only Disney waterpark experience was at River Country when I was 9 with my family. We camped at Fort Wilderness. The lifeguard had to pull my mother & brother out of the water at the bottom of a waterslide! :headache:

I'm with you on trying new foods... I too have yet to try a Dole Whip! :rolleyes1 And I'm not a big drinker, but I'm tempted to try something new at Epcot - all of those yummie slushie drink pictures floating around look so good! :thumbsup2

(2012 could be interesting... a couple of lightweights running around sampling slushies! :rotfl:)

And DIS-meets are always good! :goodvibes

Oh, I love reading about the top 5 choices of things you all want to do.

Thanks Marsha...

I had to laugh at the "one-ride" night. I don't think I could go into MK and just do 1 ride ... but I like the idea of just going and doing 3 or 4 rides and relaxing in the park for a night.

I know it's kind of crazy, but I guess because he can he just wants to say he did...

I love that picture of Naomi-Ruth with Mickey!!

I know it was one of the best moments from the trip last yr...

the pictures were cool but weird at the same time...everything is just so and pristine at Disney hard to believe they'd let something go like that :confused3

I know there is so much I get distracted by the regualr fare or what meals are at hand...need to concentrate this time

oh yeah....good thing we won't be driving...:rolleyes1

Yes I am really looking forward to having a "real" one or more this trip...

Love Naomi-Ruth's list -- so cute that she wants to ride the train, play with Mickey, and have a picnic! You must have a Grey Goose Slushie in France -- they are wonderful -- kind of like lemonade! :thumbsup2

WOW!! Look at all of those lists!! Impressive for sure!! I'm hoping Spectro is back as well--LOVE it!! And that family pic with Mickey is just precious!! Yes, the TS photo ops are a lot of fun!! And I also hope we can meetup!! As soon as we find out if there will be a deal for Nov/Dec, then I'll know our exact dates!! :goodvibes

Looks like some great lists and must dos! :cool1: Every time I see Naomi-Ruth, I get a huge smile on my face. :goodvibes

Love the rest of the lists. That pic of Naomi-Ruth and Mickey is TOO cute!! I want one of those Butterfinger cupcakes too!

I still need to get my family to do their top 5 lists, we haven't sat down to dinner together in forever - too much going on! We're off to the Dells next week though so we'll have some time together to talk.

Oh have fun at the Dells where do you stay? we have not been up there since the winter of 08...:sad1: we love the Wilderness resort and eating at Monks...the dive in downtown though just feels so much cooler than the big restaurant...

HAPPY PRE-4TH OF JULY ALL.... pixiedust: pixiedust:

no huge plans here...my folks are out of town till tomorrow night, Matt's are in MI at the lake house, and most of our friends are busy (but we have a weekend w/ them the following one) the fireworks by us are tonight and I plan to make my usual red, white and blue rice krispies...

post pictures later plus a fairy village...:tinker:

Our Disney Budget: :teacher:

You know I had a bit of a panic earlier in the planning process when it dawned on me how much this trip actually would be costing and that was just the big stuff of park tickets and dining plan costs…

Once over the intial shock and realization this family of an official "Disney" 6 w/ 4 “adults” I breathed and kept planning….all I can say…go lots and lots when they can be free and under 10!

I had a basic budget in mind for airfare and the other misc items like souvenirs, gifts, OOP food and extra’s but w/ under 5 months out I figured I had better see what was left, what still needs to be saved and what money do we have…

Here is a look (and yes it’s scary…):

4 park passes for the kids (2 A and 2 C) we bought 7 day PH through UT using mousesavors additional discount = $1069.81 (paid through savings)

2 AP’s for Matt and I = $778 (w/ DVC discount) will purchase at WDW have $ set aside

DDP regular plan for 6 people (4 A and 2 C) for 8 nights = $1535.52 (will pay at checkin for w/ $ set aside)

Tip money (this covers airport, bell services, mousekeeping, TS restaurants, BBB, PL, DME, & a taxi) = $107 (need to save up still)

OOP food cost (this covers our Day 1 expenses B at airport, L & D at Disney and some drinks for B on Day 2 and drinks and food at airport on way home) = $140 (need to save up still)

Garden Grocer order (includes fee of $12 and food for 6 B, 1 L, and 1 D) = approx $110 (need to save up still)

BBB 3 appointments (w/ approx tax) = $162 (need to save up still)

PL 1 appointment (w/ approx tax) = $34 need to save up still

Pressed Penny Money (I want to have at least enough for 20 pennies) = $10.20 (have all the change already)

Souvenir Budget this is so hard to come up w/ a figure for so for now I’m shooting for $400 some of this will roll over into B-day presents for girls and maybe below… (need to save up still)

Christmas Shopping Budget (for us, kids, and 1 small thing per extended family) = $250 (already saved)

2 rooms at POP for 1 night = $258.74 paid

Parking for the van at airport for 9 nights approx = $90 (need to save up still)

Airfare for 6 roundtrip = $3134.40 paid-charge

I almost forgot this, will need to adjust my total yet again :headache:small custom cake for Rachel’s b-day (not doing one for Naomi because of her allergies) let’s say $40 for now (need to save up still)

Oh and as in any good budget there is always a few surprises and things you don’t exactly plan for…

Totaling up to $8119.67… :scared:

Holy carp buckets….um and this is why the next family trip isn’t till 2013

of the money left to be saved most will be sifened from Matt's pay each of his next paydays...and then I will get some more through a toy garage sale and selling of some more of Naomi-Ruth's and Nathan's to small clothes...plus if I fin a p/t job my money covers debt and savings which includes trips...

Coming Up NEXT: some crafty things for the trip thanks to some great ideas on the boards and the DISigns...plus start talking about DHS...:3dglasses

thanks for reading as always,

J~

Happy 4th of July, Julie!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family!!

WOW!!! That's a lot of money! But I have to keep in mind that you have 2 more kids than I do!! :goodvibes It's good that you're planning out your budget!!

Now the bookkeeper in me wants you to add in your fixed cost for the DVC room. Did you ever do an amortization schedule over the 40 something years that you will own it?? :rotfl:

Just checking in while I wait for some water to boil...

Hope you have a great 4th of a July!!

thank you, you too!

thanks and back to you!

Yes it's harsh...but I know you guys understnad and I don't have to justify the ends...and now that 2 kids are paying adult prices it's tough

Now the bookkeeper in me wants you to add in your fixed cost for the DVC room. Did you ever do an amortization schedule over the 40 something years that you will own it?? :rotfl:

 very cute...

I made a Disney budget chart this week too. It just makes it easier. We're a party of 5 adults and 2 children (6 and 2) and it gets expensive. I'm happy my nephews are still considered children by Disney. I wish they'd raise the age of a child to 12.

Is the Christmas shopping budget to buy gifts for each person at WDW? Or for gifts to buy at home to take to WDW?

OK all I can say is that budget scared me! :scared1:

The scariest part is that it is accurate! :headache:

Wow! That budget is pricey!

I like how detailed it is, though, and how you have a plan for everything. I agree completely about the traveling lots and lots when the kids are under 10. I wish we had done more of that beforehand. Now, both Chelsea and Connor are considered adults by Disney, and we sure can feel the difference in the price!

Have a great Fourth of July!

Happy 4th Julie and family!!

Hmm, thinking I'm not going to add up our budget. ;) We are one less kid than you, it's those darn 10yr old 'adults'. :rotfl: Actually come to think of it we're almost done with any kids as Deirdre will turn 10 next August - ugh! Good thing our 2011 trip will be in June. :lmao:

As for the Dells, we're staying at the Kalahari. That's where the competition is being held. Kind of wishing we were going to be somewhere else but she'll be happier being with all her friends at the Kalahari. I've read about Monks, will have to check it out. Have only been to the Dells once in Nov. 2000 for two nights. Open to any tips/suggestions you have!

Hope everyone is having a good 4th...

sharing some pic's on the bottom

It does make it easier...just one thing sep doesn't seem so bad but you do need to keep tabs on it all...and I agree 12 would be a better fit to increase...

Is the Christmas shopping budget to buy gifts for each person at WDW? Or for gifts to buy at home to take to WDW?

It's actually for presents once home...I figure we'll buy a gift per child for under the tree and then little things for our family...I mean why wouldn't we so close to the Holiday and not buy something...

we are having a pre-Christmas celebration just for our 6 as several things I have already bought for the trip also are Christmas presents and as much as I hint to the kids don't expect much under the tree as Disney is Christmas in a way...its a hard concept to get...

OK all I can say is that budget scared me! :scared1:

The scariest part is that it is accurate! :headache:

thanks...glad someone doesn't thinks it's all :scared1:

Wow! That budget is pricey!

I agree but only a small portion is actually extra...I am trying to see where I can snip corners too...probably in the OOP food/groceries and sad to say souviners

I like how detailed it is, though, and how you have a plan for everything. I agree completely about the traveling lots and lots when the kids are under 10. I wish we had done more of that beforehand. thanks only way to stay on top of it...I now it's rough but we love it and for us the price justifies the time we have and the memories too...but I know all of you agree...

Have a great Fourth of July!

thanks...you too

Happy 4th Julie and family!!

thank you! you too....hope the rain hoilds out for fireworks...Sat night was great over by us for the DuPage Co. ones:thumbsup2

Yes it was great for us to squeeze in last march's trip before the twins turned 10 too

Dells...

Monks is a great burger dive. like I had said the orginal location is in the strip in town vs the "resturant" next to the Wilderness resort...

we have not done much there mainly staying at the resort to swim and we usally always go off season so lots of things are closed...

we did do Ripley museum once...it was cute for younger kids and did see the ski show...very classic dells. The duck boats is great, the scenery is very spectacular I highly recommend that if you do one thing...there is a great candy store in town too (hopefully) the amusement park looks cool too...but haven't been yet.

Now a little life report...

Bekah got her hair cut 2 weeks ago because she wanted to donate it

before

We found "big baby a home"

110_6075.jpg

our very own "big baby" it's actually an old doll of Rachel's she carried around constantly between the ages of 2-4...well now "big baby" has been w/ Rachel non-stop when she was found in the outside toy shed

Here is a special fairy village that the older girls and I made last week:

Great pictures... looks like you have been busy this weekend! I love Bekah's hair - it looks so cute! And good for her wanting to donate it! :thumbsup2

That is a great family picture of all of you. You look cute in your red, white & blue theme. Love the fairy garden too. And :lmao: about Big Baby!

PS - I have that same magnet on my minivan! ;) Hope your air gets fixed! I just got a nice check from Kia for all the trouble I had with my van leaking... it's paying for my girls weekend trip!
