I'm Ordering a big BLT for Thanksgiving 2010 NEW 12/3 started TR! see link

Hi Julie! I hope you and the kids are enjoying your spring break.

I'm so glad that your mom and dad enjoyed their time at Epcot. So sorry to hear about Michael's problems at school. Here's hoping his IEP finally gets approved at your meeting next week. The educational system's "red tape" is so frustrating.

Wearing blue today in honor of Michael, Aldine, Billy, Alex and Zach and all those touched by autism. Thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2

Aw, shucks, Julie! You know I could probably fit all that stuff in my Disney Bag! ;)

Thanks for the shout-out to Billy! And hugs to Matt... Hope he doesn't need surgery.

Sending a monorail full of pixiedust for Michael's IEP eligibility meeting...

Kathy

thank you Kathy...

got a call from Matt...little distracted from the kids in the background...but surgery is on the table for sure now...not sure when, but it will happen. It requires weeks off of work and recovery...nothing like scheduling that into your calendar...

I may need to borrow your super sized bag...

Sorry Matt is still dealing with pain. :sad1:

I completely understand the frustration with the school. You already know part of my decision to homeschool again was because of their refusal to test and help Sully with his issues (undiagnosed dysgraphia). Hope the meeting goes well.

I don't know if you remember a couple of years back I was looking into Aspergers with Connor. He had the horrible constipation (that finally stopped after an in-hospital clean out) and many of the signs for Aspergers. He has changed so much in that time and most of the issues have disappeared. But, every once in a while I still think about it and wonder.

Thanks Carissa,

no I did not know that...I am glad for the most part he is doing well :thumbsup2

It is hard to help our kids when don't quite know what is wrong or when we don't get the support w/ suspect. I am glad your boys are thriving.

Michael does well in school I am nervous for the switch to Middle School in late August...but he really needs a more firm social component of structure and suppot at school as as more regular system of accomadtion/modification going from 1 teacher to 6 is going to be  w/out an IEP in place that everyone can work w/.

And thanks for the concern for Matt...one more doc visit on Monday and then we'll see how close surgery may be.

So I have some time to burn here while I await some loaves of Amish Friendship bread to finish baking before I retreat to the basement and work on the custom Disney album... I'd thought I'd start that

Special creative and custom purchases post I had hinted too...

Last weekend I had my laptop out and was sitting on the couch and browsed through the gazillion DISisgns out there and decided on several I really liked. Some that I could add my own touches too and others I asked for personalization to be added too.

I really like Marion's (RustFanMan) work...I haven't created anything yet...but here are my thoughts:

(Please bear in my the DISigners really ask that you don't qoute their work unless it is a finished item you have done something w/...

so for now bear w/ my descriptions and thoughts*** oh after thought included links to her posts w/ my personalized designs...yes the names on them are my kids)

link to DISigns for me to create with

You may or may not know, but one of my very BFF's is taking her children to WDW for their first time (she has been more times than me) in June to celebrate her son's 3rd b-day and her DD will be jusy shy of 1 yr.

I am creating the Child's First Memory books for each child...the boy version is done and you can see it on my BLOG.

I want to give them some little pre-trip trinkets to go w/ the books and as their b-day presents...so I thought why not custom tote bags to put everything in.

Marion had some really cute First trip DISigns and she added their names to them for me and I will print them out on iron on transfer paper and put on a plain tote bag.

Post pic's when done!

Now to my stuff:

For Michael I had her modify this Donald Survivor ribbon picture. It now has Donald leaning against an autistic ribbon w/ his name under it.

I really like it. :thumbsup2 My two thoughts are 1) to print on iron transfer paper and put on his “travel bag” or 2) just print it and laminate it to add as an id tag at the bottom of his pin lanyard.

other link to designs

For the little girls I want to do some special b-day items. I had Marion add to a cute “happy b-day to me” design their names. Now what to do w/ it?

DH thinks I have too many “Disney Shirts” already...

ok maybe I do :rolleyes1...but how often to you celebrate your b-day at WDW? They both will be wearing special costumes on their b-day and the other for the 2 character meals but they will have to change eventually?

What do you all think?

Should I create new shirts for them or what?:confused3

I also had her do these b-day age circles that have their new age 8 and 4 on them and they say "I'm __ today."

I hope to turn them into buttons or some type of “pin” to wear not just the “Disney free pin”

Here is the link to the page that the buttons are shown...ignore the Disneydafty?

button idea

As well I had her add to a BLT design “Our first trip Home” I am going to just print this and laminate it to make a sign to post on our door at BLT...

is that cool? I know many people decorate their exterior door/window but do you can you in the interior hallway entry style resorts?

Plus I saved some other images to use for various things which I will share later as I make them up.

I want to find a cool design to have Marion personalize for Aldine and Matt liked the idea of customizing a tote bag for his Mom to carry around while we are there.

Now on to some special custom orders...

This is not something I have done before but think it will *** those extra special touches and these item count toward b-day and Christmas...

first custom hair clippies from our very own Diser Becky (ladybugmom) you can see her stuff on her upcoming website allybugbowtique.com

I haven't decided on what I want yet...but will soon.

I am thinking coordinating “princess” clips for each girl and their costumes at CRT and I just love the Turkey clips for Thanksgiving

second is some custom homemade clothes...

I have been browsing various sellers on Esty and have found the most beautiful “grown-up” girl Princess inspired dresses for Aldine. She has decided she wants to dress up for BBB and CRT but doesn't really want the typical “little-girl” costume...and I don't really want to spend $ on a costume dress she'll never wear again. The Belle dress I bought on an after Halloween Sale for our 08 trip she only wore at Disney and refused to wear for Halloween that yr.

Take a look at the dress..she likes the “Belle” one:

=tags&includes[]=title] Belle inspired sundress

What do you think?

Then for Margaret I have her Princess gown for BBB and CRT and then Mae has her Alice dress for the Supercalifraglistic Bfst w/ Alice and Mary Poppins so I really thought wouldn't it be cute if we found a Mary Poppins inspired dress...

I think a dress w/ some Mary on it vs a costume would be nice as seriously we have a gazillion dress up gowns already. I have not looked on Ebay but custom Jolly Holiday dresses are way to much for me to spend to be “cute”

so I found this what do you think?

=tags&includes[]=title] Custom little girl Mary Poppins Jumper

And while I was searching for Margaret I found this for me:

=tags&includes[]=title] Ladies M Poppins shirt

So I haven't ordered anything yet..but will soon. Do you think I should send an interest inquiry to make sure the sellers would still make in a few months? I am not sure how long they keep various items available to order...

Well all my bread is out of the oven and only one minor burnt corner and 1 minor cave in on a mini loaf...but all in all...YUM-O

Be back soon w/ more planning things and Disney What nots...

Have a wonderful Easter and thanks for reading,

Scrappie J~

Hey all...

most of you know that I have posted not the names of my kids but their middle names...

my middle name game is just too confusing now for my crossover friends from the Dis and vica versa ...

TO make it easier and less confusing for myself (DH is ok w/ this) I will now refer to my kiddos by their actual names...

I know

I am not planning to go through and change every post but updated their names on my first post...

so Michael is Nathan

Aldine is Rebekah or Bekah

Mae is Rachel

and Margaret is Naomi-Ruth or Naomi she says "no-me"

each new post from here out will be the first names...hope you catch on quick and now Heidi doesn't have to be my name police when I slipped up...

Oh wow! I had no idea you were using middle names all of this time! They all have such great first AND middle names. :thumbsup2

The designs are so cute!
And I love the dress choices for your oldest daughter. Beautiful!
The Mary Poppins t-shirt is adorable.

Those dresses from Etsy are too cute. I love all the fabrics she uses. And I didn't know that about your kids' names, either!

hehehehe......

It's funny because when I would read their middle names on the DIS I would "translate" them in my mind as I was reading to their first names....so thanks, you've saved a couple of my brain cells!

I love love love the dress for Rebeka...prefect for a girl her age that still wants to dress up in Disney!

And I say Yes to making the little girls t-shirts for their birthdays for when they want to change out of their costumes...they will get lots of Birthday Wishes that way :thumbsup2

Great family photo!!

I hope everyone had a nice first day back to school today. :goodvibes

I love all of the DISigns you chose....the BLT one is my favorite, I think. Cute idea to get buttons for the girls' birthdays!

And I adore the Mary Poppins items! So cute! The Belle dress for Bekah is perfect...not too little girl, but still very princess.

I'm kinda glad you decided to use the kids' first names...I was constantly getting confused between here and your emails and facebook! :rolleyes1 And I was worried about slipping up too!

You have a beautiful family and the Easter picture is wonderful! Did Nathan grump about having to pose for pics before changing out of his "church" clothes? My boys did...lots of groaning and eye rolls, but I don't care! The girls' Easter hats are great! I wish I had a little girl to dress up in her Easter best. :cutie:

Thanks Missy...

I am looking forward to start creating some things and order up some of the customs...

I think the dress for Bekah is divine too princess:

I love dressing the kids up for Easter (especially the girls) what a treat to find these marvolous (msp?) matching dresses for them...I have a feeling this may be the last yr of this kinda of stuff...so it was fun!

Nathan is ok about the clothes...the sweater was bugging him more than anything, he wore the same outfit to my brother's wedding and after I washed it it stretched out...:headache:

he is not a big fan of pictures...though so I'm glad we got done first thing before grumps and stains...like Rachel dribbling chocolate ice cream all over herself.
