thanks for all the lovely comments!

so first day of Spring and we are back to being a winter wonderland here in Ch-town  yesh...after 2 days of no coats and playing outside. not fun at all.

Having a post St. Pat's dinner w/ friends today...so need to get moving on cleaning up and such. Plus crazy week ahead w/ dealing w/ the school event I chair and operation dishwasher push for my parents....:ssst: shh it's a secret.

Trying to get back to Disney planning and stuff...but too many other what-not's on the top of the list.

Hope all are well and sorry I have been behind in people's PTR's and TR's lately...but happy planning and can't wait to find a moment to catch up and read.

Happy Spring and Happy Disney!

J~

:rotfl: ok in the most unlikely way I had a Dis-Nerd moment for myself...

anyone ever make or prepare Amish Friendship bread? it's that crazy bread mix that sits in a zip-loc bag on your counter for 10 days till you make the bread but first scoop out 3 starters to give away?

well I got one and then today was the baking day and as I was preparing the bags for the 3 starters I labled each bag as Day 1) w/ the date...

 and do you know what I thought of?

ziploc bags of my travel days labeled w/ the clothes in them for packing...:sad2:

so bad....

Yes, I have made Amish Friendship Bread. I even blogged about it once. ;)

I love putting clothes in the ziploc bags and labeling them. One of my favorite Dis tips ever! :thumbsup2

June 10th!

Looks like June 10th is the date you'll be able to book airfare if you want to fly Southwest. :thumbsup2

I know I gave you an estimate of when I thought it would be way back a few months ago... Was it June?? Just curious how accurate I was. :confused3

The Disney LOGO shirt saga…

So do you remember back a month when I just happened to pull out the Disney shirts I had already bought eons ago for the trip and discovered I completely flaked on purchasing one for me? :headache:

I tried to find a Diser w/ one to loan meno luck

I tired to find one onlineno luck

Ordered a men’s small gray tankno for me and Amy it is a dress for Mae w/ huge arm holes

:rotfl:

Well that got me thinking maybe I had better try all these shirts on and see what fits, what may need a shrinking, etc. (I forget now, but someone posted they thought the shirts from Disneystore run small)

This was a good lesson in how Disneystore.com has changed their shirts in the last 2 yrs…the ringer tees I had bought in late August of 08 fit TOTALLY different than the shirts I ordered the end of last yr.

I took out the 24 shirts I had saved and a few out of the kids drawers….um yes that is crazy (sadly there are more :rolleyes1) and we had a Disney shirt fashion show:

1st up on the runway is the lovely almost 11 yr old Aldine modeling a bright purple Tink ringer shirt in a Ladies size XS.

Notes: fits real good if washing before trip, do on hand wash cold and line dry fearful of shrinking. Mae, Margaret, & Mom have matching shirts.

Next we have the sweet 7 yr Mae modeling her lilac Tink ringer shirt in a children’s size M.

Notes: this shirt fits great, follow washing guidelines above.

Coming up behind is Margaret (3 yrs old) in her matching Tink shirt in a child’s S

Notes: it’s a little long, so a slight shrinking wouldn’t hurt

Our lone male model Michael (almost 11 too) get’s in the act while posing like the characters…

Mickey:

Goofy:

Notes…you should be able to tell that the Mickey shirt has been worn already and washed several times…shrinkage alert!!! the Goofy one still new, is a bit big, but doable (both are a child’s size L)

Time for a wardrobe change:

From 2008 cotton tees to fashion forward 2009 “GREEN” tees….

Aldine and Mom have the same shirts:

Notes: As you can see this shirt is a bit thinner in fabric and longer this is a ladies S, a little shrinking may not hurt, but should be cool for FL heat.

Here is the back:

Mae and Margaret have other matching “green” tees:

Notes: Their shirts are a bit long, but OK maybe a summer growth spurt and we’ll be in business.

Michael is also sporting a new shirt for our green day….

Notes: He loves Wall-E and thinks this shirt is cool. Mom also bought Dad a new “green” organic Mickey shirt…this will be our AK ensemble this yr since 08 and 09 we basically wore the same green color.

Next up the LOGO shirts

Can this get any more comical? :rotfl2:

Aldine wearing a ladies S:

Which Mom then tired on and fits her, little tight at hips, but OK.

Mae tried on hers a child’s M:

Then Aldine tried it on:

And is was a little big on her…

Margaret tried on her child’s XS:

And then yep you guessed it, Mae tried it on:

Pretty good fit and a highly enthusiastic model on Mom’s hands…

Well Michael only had one option:

Shrink please! :laundy:

Dad tried on his (sorry he did not model his shirts for the camera) and it was ok, a wash wouldn’t hurt.

So where does that leave us?

Aldine waering Mae’s shirt

Mae wearing Margaret’s shirt

Margaret w/ no shirt?

Michael has one that needs major shrinking

And Mom can wear Aldine’s?

Well now back to the men’s tank top…so I asked my ever talented sister and she said yes she can cut out the logo part and surge stitch it on a plain shirt. So I just have to decide whu get’s it

Thinking I may try shrinking all the other shirts and give each girl their original one I had purchased and me get the tweaked one…since the logo is probably too wide for a toddler size shirt… I don't know what would you do? maybe surge the logo length wise down a shirt or dress for Maragret and only shrink (hopefully one shirt then)?

At least I sort of have a plan.

cont next post.

I then looked at the rest of the various shirts and clothes I was setting aside for the trip or the kids already had in their drawers to determine what could be worn prior to going in Nov and those to keep in the Disney box:

Margaret also tried on:

A shirt from Grandma last yr (b-day) in size 4T saving

Costume for either CRT or 1900 PF, this I had bought after Halloween in I think in 08 (nothing like planning ahead). I also have a 4-6X Cinderella costume, but it is a bit big on her now, so we’ll have to see come Nov.

I’d love for her to wear the SW dress for CRT and then have a Mary Poppins like outfit for 1900 PF since Mae will be wearing her Alice dress to that TS on her b-day and Alice and Mary will be there….

As well I had bought on sale at the store a size 4 cute Cinderella casual dress for Margaret…depending on weather she maybe able to wear this too.

Mae has a bunch of other Disney tees that Grandma had bought her too, but they a very long…very odd sizing on the mediums:

Not sure which one’s we’ll take w/ us.

I also bought her this cute LS shirt on sale to wear depending on weather, either way it will be saved for a present.

Plus I need to find her a Princess costume for CRT and BBB…I have Aldine’s old Belle dress from 08 I need to try on Mae and then I may hunt after Halloween for her.

Aldine also has this very cool shirt from Grandma again:

As well 2 weekends ago at the huge children’s clothing re-sale I go to every spring I got this cool Mickey shirt for her:

And I found this Tink shirt for Mae:

Plus for Michael I found this awesome classic WDW Mickey shirt:

Which he just loves.

He as well has 3 other shirts.

As well each twin will receive before we go as early Cmas presents new sweatshirts:

Michael’s is a design your own from disneystore.com which I got on sale (sorry the color on these pictures is a bit washed out w/ the camera flash) Donlad duck and initals NMW

And Aldine’s, a friend picked up for me at WDW last fall:

(This is one of few clothing items purchased not on sale) I plan to have my sister bling it up a bit, w/ adding her initals to the front under Tink (RAW) and then like my Mickey sweatshirt from WDW

We are going to look for some cool Tink fabric at the store for her to add a lining in the hood.

Have to decide what Aldine wants to do, the BBB or PL and what she will wear as well.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little fashion show of shirts and such…

Up NEXT: a peek inside the very full Disney box and everything I already have stashed for a trip still over 200 days away.
Thanks for reading,

Scrappie J~

WOW!! I love a good fashion show! LOL....my boys would have a FIT if I asked them to try on all those shirts. They HATE it when I make them try on clothes....you'd think I was killing them.

All the shirts are adorable....of course, I am partial to the Tink ones and especially to Margaret's Snow White dress! :lovestruc

I have no good ideas as far as the logo shirt goes. I don't sew at all so the thought of trying to piece one together freaks me out!! ;)

Great fashion show!! My kids would have been less than cooperative with the trying on part too, especially DS9!

Love the Tink shirts and sweatshrits, we are Tink fans here too. As for the logo Ts, if you want another kid size one they are available on eBay I think. Search for Disney Mickey Logo Shirt and there is a seller with some up.

Can't wait to see "the box"!

I love the shirts! :lovestruc Don't the unpredictable sizes just drive you crazy? It can be so hard to buy things for kids, especially as they are growing!

Funny you should post this... I was just thinking the other day, "Whatever happened with the logo shirt drama?"

Kathy

I love the fashion show!! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you got all the kids to cooperate like that! You guys have so many Disney shirts... :worship:

Great finds at the re-sale!! And I love that throw you have on the bed. :thumbsup2

Any chance you can find a matching logo shirt for Margaret? Did you look for her size when you on the hunt? I think that would be ideal... and save the tank for Michael or another year when everyone bumps up to the next size. :confused3
