Retail store puts a camera in a backroom where product may or may not be moving in and out..

Don't see a problem with that.. For the OP, you are WAY out of line.. Are you doing something that you need to worry about? <--- This part is key.. If a public space like that (ie storeroom) retail companies sure should put a camera or three out there.. It just seems odd the OP is so worried. What is he/she up to?

If not, who cares where the camera is as long as it is in a public area (ie not in bathrooms or what not)

Please go back and read my first post. We are used to being on camera. It is the sudden appearance of this camera, and the fact that it is pointed at our work area, that I find offensive. And product moves out of this stockroom by 4 different axcess points. So if management was worried about theft, they would have cameras at all of those points. But they don't.

And I find your post very offensive, btw. Why do you assume because I don't want a camera watching me while I am on the phone or computer that I am a crook? I'm also not worried. I am pissed!

Now Im super curious as to who you work for. This is not normal for a large company. A store manager can not put a single camera wherever he chooses. Store Ops would have it chainwide. And as I said in a previous post, it would have to be budgeted last year to be implemented this year.

Does your store begin with an H or B by any chance?
