Please don't think I am stOOpid. I'm really not, I swear!

But...i'm having serious issues understand the dining plan. We chose the "magic your way plus disney dining plan". And I DON'T GET IT.

Does it apply to room service? Is quick service like a buffet? Table service is sit down right?

HELP ME. :headache:

Table Service is considered a buffet or a sit-down type meal. Think of Chef Mickey's at Contemporary.

Quick Service is like walking up to a cast member, ordering your food, waiting for it, and taking it to a table (like at a fast food restaurant). The Disney Website has a link where you can get all the restuarants, and compare table service vs. quick service. With table service, you need to tip, but not with quick service.

It's not a stupid question at all.

thank you!

if we use all of our daily meals/snacks, we just pay out of pocket, right?

is room service part of the dining plan? or is it just charged to our room?

okay, here's my disney dining plan primer...
once you check in, all of your dining credits are tossed in a pool... there is no "daily" limit, there is a "vacation" limit, based on your number of nights... so, if you are 4 people staying 7 nights, you will have 28 Table Service* meals in your bucket; 28 Counter aka Quick Service** meals in your bucket; and 28 snacks*** in your bucket... you can use them any time, any day, in any order that you wish... however, they expire at midnight on the day you check out...

*Table Service meal... any place you are seated and tended to by a wait staff (menu restaurant, buffet, family style, etc) is a Table Service meal... and most TS meals "cost" one Table Service or Sit Down credit per person (there are some exceptions like the dinner shows and high-end aka Signature Restaurants)...

**Counter aka Quick Serve meal... fancy names for food court meals... if you carry your own tray (in 99% of the cases) and scramble for your own table and have to clean up after yourself, it's a QS meal...

***Snacks... pretty self-explanatory... ice cream, soda, water, popcorn, pretzel, fruit, etc type food... single serving only... typically under $4... it's a Snack...

Room Service... ahhh, Room Service... category all its own, but can use some of those Table Service credits... however, each meal "costs" TWO of those TS credits and the allotments are similar to those at TS restaurants (i.e. entree, dessert, non-alcoholic bev)...

Pizza Delivery is also considered "Room Service" and costs TWO ADULT credits (no matter who is eating it) and comes w/soda and dessert...

Now, once you have used all your credits, you may pay out of pocket or charge to your room... if you want Room Service and don't think it's worth the two credits, then you can pay or charge as well, even if you have credits available...

It's somewhat flexible and easy to use, once you wrap your head around it... keep asking if it's still not clear! :)

i think i'm getting it! thank you, that was a good way to explain it to me, and a good plan.

i think i'm starting to understand everything...

what's the deal w/ pizza delivery...is it single slices or like, an actual pie that comes in a box? is it tasty? lol :confused3

that comes in a box but I don't think I've ever heard it discribed as tasty!!:rotfl:

Does it apply to room service?

Yes, if you are staying at a resort that has room service. 2 TS credits per meal.

Is quick service like a buffet?

Buffets are table service. Table service is any meal where you have a server at the table (this includes buffets). Counter service is ordering food from a cashier.

Be cautious about the pizza. If you are ordering pizza in a resort that has room service, it is considered a room service meal for two. That means it's 4 TS credits per pizza, because room service is 2 TS credits per meal. There's not really any doubt that using 4 TS credits for a pizza is not a good value. Only in resorts that do not have room service can you get a pizza delivered for 2 TS credits per pizza.

At your resort food court, you can also get a large pizza (the whole pie - taste is OK - I'm from NY so I'm picky about pizza - it's not great, but OK) plus 2 drinks and 2 desserts - all for 2 COUNTER SERVICE credits (instead of the TS credits like room service would cost) - all you have to do is order it and pick it up yourself instead of having it delivered. We always do this for our meal on the first night while the kids unwind after a day of plane rides in the pool - just grab a pizza and hang out and eat. AND we all eat dinner for 2 CS used total.

whew! thanks for all the info, guys. i think i'm starting to really get it now. oh, and the info about the food court pizza was GREAT, thank you for that.

geez am i the only one who had an issue understanding this? LMAO.
