Things have been so crazy  around here - I haven't even started planning for our vacation or how I'm going to handle having an infant on board. There is SO much stuff I have to do and I don't even know where to start. Not to mention that I still have DD's party to plan and graduation parties to attend and a house to scrub and, and, and....I feel so overwhelmed.

Where should I begin? Any one have any ideas to help me get things under control?

Hey, it's not just me. I've been griping about how slow my countdown timer was ticking, until this week. Now I'm trying to find a way to slow it down. :rotfl:

I'm not ready and there is something kind of sad in knowing this long awaited trip will be here and over soon.

Breathe in...Breathe out...Breathe in...Breathe out. Now doesn't that feel better.

Seriously, I'm a big list maker so I would make a list of what absolutely MUST go and check it off. Another thing that worked well for me was to start a "cruise box" where I could begin to collect the stuff that we were taking but that we wouldn't need before then. If I thought "I need to remember to pack...." then I got it right then and put it in the box. It made remembering the powerstrip, the alarm clock, the over the door shoe bag, the suction cup hooks, the clothespins, etc much easier.

You CAN do it. You're a Mom aren't you. My neighbor used to have a bumper sticker that read: "I have kids...I can handle any crisis".

Think of all the fun you'll have on the cruise and don't expect everything to be perfect.

I would suggest packing. I am always worried about getting the house clean before I go away. At some point, I realized that I could go away if the house was dirty, however, I could not go away if I was not packed. So I pack first, and guess what? The house always gets cleaned before we go. (Allright, almost always!!)

If it's too early to pack, at least make a list of what you are going to pack. I always feel better when it is on paper!

The party you are planning, is it before your cruise, or after? Is it really necessary to plan it before your trip?

Take a deep breath and set some priorities. I'm sure it will come together for you! Have a great cruise!!

Sit down...take a deep breath...and make a list. Here's a HUG to go with the DEEP BREATH too~

NOW...I was feeling similar anxieties prior to our cruise on the MAGIC last week. DD graduated only 3 days before we left. I was completely "overwhelmed" with things to do...and still am!! (*AS we are leaving again for another 8 weeks...next week!).

Just remember...once you board the SHIP, everything seems to SLIDE off your shoulders, and the RELAXING BEGINS!!! :goodvibes :cloud9: If your infant is over 3 mos of age, I highly recommend the babysitting available @$6 per hour...for a nice night in PALO w/DH! There are so many options available to you, which will make the cruise magical and memorable. Just make a list...and organize your thoughts. Do it while taking a nice bubble bath...no noice, just you and your thoughts. It's a cathartic form of meditation...and will help to alleviate the anxiety you are feeling.

Remember...nothing is EVER as bad, or overwhelming as we make them out to be in our minds!! I wish you a wonderful CRUISE!!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

P.S. forget about scrubbing the house, the dirt will be there when you return! ;)

I would suggest making a list of everything you need to get done in the order of importance for when they have to be done. Then just start one by one going down that list. You will find you will be checking things off in no time. Just take a deep breath relax and think soon we will be having the time of our lives. Fun Fun Fun.

I know the feeling. I feel like I'm living a that dream live! You know the one, where the ship is leaving but my nails aren't done. I forgot to pack my make up, our shorts and pants, the kids are on the ship, I have to go home to pack again. I booked 35 days prior to our 6/25/05 cruise so I feel like I am living in a cloud...a dream! I had to make myself a day to day chart! Luckilly, I saved all our prior cruise "stuff" in two boxes and have at least taken inventory. So, I'm trying to WAKE up! ALong with finals, graduation parties, baseball and work! ;) :earseek:

It's much better now that I have things charted out and written down!

The fun part about going on vacation IS the planning and anticipation! :earboy2:
