I'm Not Old Enough to Drive to Disney World? May/June 2011 PTR**Back Home! 6/5**

Yea for pics!!!!

The kids are very cute. I can't wait to see them. I am so glad that your sister decided to do the trip after all. I am sure that when she is there she'll be glad that she went. :cool1::woohoo::banana:

I just saw that one of your son's birthdays is right before your trip. Can I ask when? (feel free to PM this info) Liam's birthday is right before are trip also and we added the celebration as well. Wouldn't it be funny if they shared the same B-day.:rotfl:

You have never been on TSM? It is a great ride. My advice is to head there first and get the FP. You can than go on the ride when ever you want. I have learned that even if you return after the window on the FP you can still use it. I have even heard of people using it the next day though I wouldn't depend on that.:thumbsup2

I agree my sister will be very glad that they've decided to go!

I think all of the kids will love TSM! The plan is to make rope drop, head straight to TSM, grab fast passes then all of us get in line to ride after we get the FPs. That way we can try to ride twice! Guess I'll see if that works out!

Sounds like a great plan to me.:woohoo::woohoo:

Saturdays and Sundays are usually my major trip planning days by default, but this weekend I haven't felt very well (getting a cold) and I've only kind of thought of my trip plans.

I feel a little better and my mind got into planning mode! Which isn't good since it needs to be in laundry mode since my kids go back to school tomorrow after being off all week for Spring Break and I didn't do ANY laundry all week!! :sad2:

But that actually got me thinking about the clothes we're taking on vacation. The past 2 years I took less clothing and mid week I did laundry. I HATE doing laundry on vacation but I was trying to keep my suitcase light to avoid a stupid baggage fee!! The cheapest flights have been on airlines other than Southwest and same goes for my flight this May. I'm trying to decide whether to go ahead and skip washing clothes this year, though I do like getting home with only a couple things dirty instead of the entire suitcase being full of dirty clothes!! Hmmm, what to do, what to do??

I discussed with my sister the possibility of her taking any of my souvenirs or items I don't trust in my luggage back in her vehicle and she's fine with that, but as I mentioned before, she doesn't have as much space as I thought she would.

I have started walking everyday for 30-45 minutes in preparation for our trip and I'm trying to get my sister to do the same. It just makes it much better for me! She's got very different hours than I do so she's gonna try walking during her breaks at work (they actually have a walking track around the building at her job!).

The other thing I'm really thinking about today is what snacks and food I want to have for in our rooms. We'll all have the QSDP but I like to have a fast breakfast in the room and then some snacks for at night or when we're relaxing or before/after a nap. I'm going to take what me and my kids like, but I'm not sure what my sister will be taking for her family. She doesn't usually think of taking much but Mikade is staying in my room so I don't want to only have snacks for my room and my sister not have much for Mikiah and Mikenna. I'm taking charge of the snacks and breakfast so that everyone is covered! Hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt!~ :rolleyes1

Next up will be an excited, yet exhausting task: Taking out my Disney Box from the closet!!!

Well I haven't attempted taking out my Disney Box from my closet yet.... I've been sick for a week and today was the first day I could finally breathe through my nose!! Anyway, between you and me....I don't know if my sister is gonna really end up going for sure. She's had what I can only refer to as a "strange" financial situation occur. She said she's still going but I guess it remains to be seen! She hasn't paid off her reservation yet.....she has til mid April to pay.

I've been stressing about our flight to MCO. Or rather, the plane change we have and the short window of time we have to get to the second plane! In the past, we've flown from Lubbock, TX to Dallas, then changed planes and went from Dallas to Orlando. I'm familiar with both Dallas airports and it's always been very easy getting from one gate to the other even if the layover was only an hour. But this year, we'll be flying out from Dallas. I thought it would end up being non-stop from Dallas to Orlando. No such luck! This year we'll fly from Dallas to Houston (George Bush Intercontinental Airport), where we have an hour to get to the next gate. I've had bad luck every time that I've had to change planes at George Bush Airport.... On 3 different occasions my plane has arrived on time but we sat on the tarmac not able to pull up to a gate and I had to RUN to the next gate and be the last person boarding the new plane!! :headache: That was when I was flying alone! I'm hoping that since we've got an early flight, everything will go smoothly and we will make our connecting flight without me running to the gate with 2 kids in tow! :upsidedow I'll be packing some extra pixie dust just in case!

I am also planning on bring some snacks for our trip and things for breakfast. I am trying to figure out what would be best and how best to pack them. I could pack them in my check in bag but worry about them getting squished or put them in my carry one and make sure that would be alright with the airport. I think I am leaning toward the carry on.

I am sorry that your sister still doesn't seem whole hearted into the trip. I guess not every one is so disney crazy (imagine that), I guess you will find out for sure in the next couple of weeks when the trip needs to be paid off.

I still owe a little bit (because of the upgrade to prefered room at Pop) and will pay it off when I get my next check next friday. I will relax a little easier when that happens.:thumbsup2

You can also have things shipped to your room. I don't know exactly how this it is done but I was thinking that might be another option on shipping some food.:confused3

I've never had problems in the past with my snacks/food getting squished in my checked luggage. I just worry about my bag weighing too much and getting charged extra on top of the regular (stupid) bag fee. I get some really large ziploc style storage bags from Dollar Tree put all the food in one in my checked bag just in case it gets smashed so that it doesn't make a mess. But my peanut butter crackers weren't even slightly broken, but you never know!

If my sister ends up not going, then I'll take muffins, the small bowl containers of cereal, pop tarts (I use the food court toaster), etc for breakfast and things like fruit snacks, cookies, crackers etc for extra snacks.

I've just gotta wait it out til the 15th to see what my sister will end up doing. I have to bug her about it before then actually cuz Mikade is on my reservation so his part is what's not paid for on my package/room and I don't want my entire reservation cancelled because of that. I thought of just paying it off because it's bothering me that my room still shows a balance due, but I'm worried that if I pay it, and she ends up going for sure, that she won't want to pay me back right away.

I have thought of shipping my snacks to myself at Pop but I'm not really going to have that much since we have the QSDP.

All I know is that we're hitting the 60 day mark and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :cheer2:

Just popping by (hehe get it POPping by:rotfl2:. Ok I know, I never claimed to be a comedian) to do the 2 month till Disney Dance.
:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::banana::dance3::love:

I'll probably come back tomarrow to do the 60 day dance, you can never have to many celebration dances.:lmao:

I will have to try to do that for our snacks also. I was going to get some poptarts (there is that word again POP:rotfl2:), some single serving cereal that DS likes, fruit snakes, liam wants some apples and bananas, and some cookies and crackers.

We'll see about the weight. Only doing one checked bag (hate bag fees:mad:) and liam will have a small suitcase for carry one.

I can't wait to pay off my vaca this weekend, it is driving me crazy. I hope your sister figures it out soon, I would definalty try to get here to make a decision by maybe the 12th or 13th so that you can change your reservation if you need to.

Talk to you soon,
Corrine:woohoo:

Wow! It's getting closer and closer!!! I've been busier than usual but this morning I got into super planning mode! The giant Disney box is out and I'm ready to start organizing what I plan to pack and how it will best fit in which bags. My sister's saying they are going no matter what, but I'll believe it when I see it! I'll have an update tomorrow at the latest with my day by day plans!

54 days to go!!! Woo hoo!!:cool1:

I was getting a little bit worried about you, hadn't seen you around for the last couple of days.:sad2:I am glad it was just because you were busy. Well, I am not glad that you are super busy, I am just glad nothing was wrong. . .Oh never mind:confused3:lmao:

Can't wait to see your day to day plans and see what you are planning to take. I am taking good care of your mickey bag and a little birdie told me that your boys might get a little surprise when they are at Disney.:rolleyes1

Hey! You're reading my mind!! Seems Liam may have a surprise waiting for him as well!! :rolleyes1

I can't wait to get that bag!!! I thought I'd be able to have an update the other day but no such luck! My nieces and nephew are spending the night with me tonight so I'll only be able to devote some time on the DIS after all the kids are asleep. Since my sister is still up in the air about if they are going or not, I am trying to keep Disney out of the kids' minds so they won't be reminded that they may not be going :sad2:

I guess you find out at the end of next week when the money is due. Keeping my fingers crossed.:thumbsup2

I have a little bit of sad new, but hopefully I can fix it. I accidently made flights for 7-11:30 PM instead of AM.:scared1: So that means we will definalty not be meeting on the ME that afternoon. There are two other flights that day that have over 9 open seats in each. One is 10:30-2pm, and the other is 3-6:30pm. They say I can go on standby for no extra cost (just changing it would be 200-300 dollars) I am hoping for the earlier one but wont no till that day. I am going to call the night before to see if there are opening in either flight and plan from there. I will text you when we get to Pop to let you know we are there (unless of course if it is past midnight.):confused3

Hey zianha,

My sister FINALLY paid her off her package today! :cool1: I'm so excited that my nieces and nephew are going to the World FOR SURE! YAY!! I was stalling and stalling on an update since my actual plans were partially contingent on knowing whether or not my sister's family were going or not.

Now, I'm trying really hard not to be too obsessive, but I really want my nieces and nephew to see and do as much as possible since they probably won't return to WDW for a while after this trip! Since they are only staying 5 nights and leaving early on Friday, I've got to make a Must Do list!

Ok, so me and my two kids will arrive at MCO at 11am on May 29th. (Side note: Corrine....after hearing about your issue, I've checked my flight details over and over!! :lmao: I'm still crossing my eyes, fingers and toes that you can get on an earlier flight!! ) I'm hoping we arrive to POP via Magical Express atleast by 2pm. My sister, her husband and their kids are driving from TX and hopefully they arrive between 3:00 and 4:00.

I know for sure me and my kids will be hitting the POP food court to eat as soon as we arrive and check in. Our flight leaves at 6am that morning and with only an hour to change planes in Houston, we will be just snacking until we reach POP. :scared1:

We'll explore the resort and hit the pool for a while until my sister arrives. Depending on what time they arrive, we'll explore and take pictures around POP for a bit then all try to rest and take a nap so that we can hit MK around 8:00 and stay for EMH that night. We'll see how that goes since I want to make rope drop at Epcot on Monday! :worship:

I was thinking about it and I don't think I've seen MK at night since my oldest was under a year old! :confused3 I could be wrong, but I usually go to Epcot or DHS after the sun sets.

Plan B incase we chicken out on EMH, we'll go to DTD and then atleast got to MK to watch Wishes.

I'm trying to focus on packing now! I can send my breakfast foods and most of my snacks with my sister! :cheer2:

I can safely make all the kids' goody bags now! I'm so sO SO excited right now!! My sister can't understand why I'm so excited! She called me a Dork! I corrected her.....I'm a Disney Dork!! :thumbsup2

Yea, I am so glad!!!!:cool1::woohoo:
I must admite that when I saw there was a post on your thread today that I was hoping for a final answer. Especially since it is due in just a couple of days. (Talk about cutting it close. But than again I just paid off mine as well because of the upgrades I made.)
I am glad that you double checked your flight info. That is one of the good things about my situation, at least we didn't find out when we showed up at 6 in the morning. Thank you for the body crossing, I really appriciate it.
So now do you thing you can convience her to do the photopass?:rotfl2:

Let the planning begin!!!:woohoo::dance3:

Ok Corrine 1973 (and you other kind souls who drift over to read every once in a while!!) I apologize that my PTR is so boring and not so cool! I will have a way better TR after my trip with pictures and details about our adventures!

So before I give my plans for my First full day at the World.....let me tell ya.... I REALLY wish my sister was staying til Sunday like I am. AND I wish this year was my coveted 10-14 day trip that I want to have in the next year or two!
I just keep remembering all of the things I still haven't done and would love to do while my nieces and nephew are there! As you all know, it's impossible to "do it all" in one trip unless you're there a few weeks.

My sister will arrive Sunday afternoon and leave early Friday morning! :scared1: I keep making a list of the Must Do's for them since, as I mentioned before, it may be their only trip to WDW for a while. Some of the things I have never done and wanted to take everyone to do/see are:

Boardwalk
Disney Quest
Characters in Flight
Any Fireworks Cruise
Typhoon Lagoon (I've done Blizzard Beach, the kids would love either!)
Any of the Tours at any park
Hoop De Do Revue

But we won't be doing any of this on this trip!! :( As it is, I'm kind of cramming the stuff I want to make sure they do into the 4 and a half-ish days they will be there.

So on our first Full Day- Monday- We'll do rope drop at Epcot! I want to hit as much as we can in FW and eat lunch at The Land. Then we'll check out as much as we can at WS before going back to the room for rest and pool time. We'll use our miniature golf vouchers to go to Winter Summerland mini golf and then we'll go back to Epcot after dinner to see Illuminations!

I'm so excited I can't see straight! My room is a bit of a mess right now as I have started deciding on what clothes to pack and going over my packing list to see what I still need to buy (like some Body Glide and moleskin!!). I've been walking every day to condition my self for the trip and to try to lose some more weight!

Ok, well I'm off to take care of real world stuff before I dive back in to my Disney preparations! Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!! :yay:

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Easter-snow-white.jpg

Hope you guys had a great Easter weekend. I am sorry that I have not been on here for a while, things have been crazy here. So excited that are trip is only 34 days away.:dance3::yay::woohoo:

I wish we were staying to Suday also, but at least we are taking a later flight on friday. The two flights earlier that day are still open so I am hoping for the one that arrives at 2:00 so that our boys can play at the pool for a while.:thumbsup2

Did you get more Mickey Mail today? We did, somehow it seems so much more real now that I have something physical in my hands.:woohoo:

Talk to you soon!:goodvibes

Our trip is getting closer and closer!! My sister asked me about my plans so that she can decide whether her and her family would rather do their own thing. She told me "You're kind of going crazy, aren't you?" I was like... :confused3 I mean, I have become more of a Commando when it comes to my WDW touring plan over the past several years, but I agreed to only be Commando for 1/2 of each day if she plans to hit the parks with us. If left up to my sister, we wouldn't even get all of our Must Dos done!

Anyway....for our second full day, Tuesday, we'll be at rope drop for Animal Kingdom! My sister and her husband booked a Tee time to play golf at Disney's Palm Golf Course. So after lunch, they will be headed there and me and the kids will either be meeting up with some other DISers or head back to Pop to swim or maybe even hit DTD. It will depend on what time everyone decides on for the DIS meet at AK!

I got Mickey Mail 3 times last week! On Tues I got a little booklet that basically said "Welcome Back!" and highlights where we are staying and the dining plan etc. Then on Saturday I got my itinerary and today I got my ME tags and info! :woohoo: :yay:

Yep, it makes it feel more real and me and my kids are getting super excited! My 8 year old told me just a while ago, "I wish we could stay for a month!" :thumbsup2 Awwww, me too, son. Me too!!
