I feel blah about my scrapbooking. I have not done anything this month except for the 4 pages to finish my mom's album from our trip to WDW.
I spent so much time on our WDW 2004 trip that I don't know where to start now. I don't want to do another WDW album, I'm kind of cooked on those. I had thought about doing the boys school pages. I have pre-k done for all of them but I'm thinking of changing the books to 8x8 so I would have to tear apart the pages I did, which is no big deal but I don't even feel like doing that.
I've been organizing my stuff, my pics have been sorted and resorted. I don't know what to do now. Maybe I've been organizing too much?! I do feel however that if I'm not going to be doing much scrapping I may just pack up most of my stuff. I would keep out my tools, pics, and some paper but space is at a premium in this house and if I'm not actively using something then I really need to store it. I am trying to focus the rest of the year on staging the house to put it on the market.

Help motivate me!!

I hear you. I know I spend more time shopping and organizing than actually scrapping, and it's not always because of time. Sometimes it just seems too daunting to work on my own albums. They will never be done - no matter how caught up I might get (yeah, right - like that ever happens), there are always more pictures right around the corner.

My advice? Do a mini-album. Pick a topic, any topic, that might interest you and just do it start to finish. With a limited number of pages to do, you know you can finish it and it just might jumpstart your creative juices and lead you to whatever your next project might be.

I can't help you sister girl. I am in the same boat of funk myself.

Wow, the funk must be going around. I am not motivated either.

I have been working on smaller projects myself because it is hard to stay motivated on the big family album. I made four exploding boxes, a mini album for my sister and now I am working another mini album for my parents. Maybe a little porject is what you need to get you out of your funk!

I was thinking of doing our Dog's album. I want to find an album and some doggie paper first. Of course I need $$ too. LOL
I need to decide if I want to do 8x8 or 12x12. I have about 75 - 80 pics plus all his AKC papers. Doing the math I will probably do 8x8. Anybody see any good doggie paper packs in 8x8 out there??

I feel overwhelmed too. I have so many pictures, and so little time. Of course I get a complex when I read how many pages everyone is getting done on the monthly challenges. But then I have to tell myself I have 4 active kids, parents and an In-Law to take care of, and a DH that is gone 45 weeks a year. Which of course doesn't leave much time to scrap or do anything else for that matter.

Awwwwwwwww, a dog album would be sooooo cute!!! I saw some cute 12x12 paper at Mike's the other day. I have Cricut Paper Pups, so if there is something you want cut let me know...The Disney one has some cute doggie things too...and a small album with a different theme is a great place to start getting motivated again.

See what happens when you can't attend a workshop for a few months! :scared1: ;) We need a scrapbooking retreat!

You are probably feeling overwhelmed because you have so much on your plate. I went thru that over the winter. Use scrapbooking as your therapy, not as another thing you have to do. I am now back to doing a little scrapbooking here and there, not pressure or timelines to get a project done.

I think often we die hard traditional scrappers get so creative (not that I am anywhere near as creative as you) , we zap our creativity juices because we are putting so much time and energy into perfect layouts. Sometimes it is best to simplify.

I know of friend of yours who has a cricut cartridge that makes doggy bones ;) should you need some motivation. Is the General going to be home Sunday? We should plan a girl day.

My pages have been up to now all multiples of the same layout. For other people.

I've not really made anything for just me or the boys yet. I keep putting it off. I have no time, I need to finish these swaps first, I don't have the photos organized yet, my scrap space is a mess, I don't know what stuff I have. See, a ton of excuses, and no motivation.

Even my swaps were suffering the beginning of the year from lack of motivation. I'm in a funk with them right now. Now that the preschool pages are done, I'm hoping for the creativity I've had to come back. When was the last time I put fiber as a border? I haven't done that all year. I miss my fluffy elements.

I've got a packs of 12x12 paper in Doggie themes that I could cut down for you. Just tell me how many pages you need, if you mix them solids the book won't look so busy.

I definately agree that going with something smaller and more manageable is a good way to go. When I got frusterated last month I made a 6 x 6 album of a tea party from church and got back into the swing of things. I think I need another project like that now because I haven't been able to get myself to scrap this month.

I got stuck for quite a while earlier this year. Small projects are a great way to get yourself going again. I found some great ones with video instructions and printable instructions at the site below. Lots of fun ideas, just look under the archives.

wow this is exactly how i feel. just "funky". i have not had a minute to myself in i don't know how long. i am just rushed to do everything. i think i might take the advice to do a smaller project.
you're definitely not alone buffy. maybe it's the season?
and i'm off the the dr.'s this am. see rush, rush, rush everywhere i go its a rush to get there. never enought time.

I'm just so into my swaps I feel the albums are taking me away from them :lmao: I've got two mini albums to do which I'll probably get done in half term, as one is for father's day and one for MIL birthday (same day!) so i really need a bit of input from the kids, or its just me giving the gift.

I'm not so bad on my 2007 album as I have all my lovely swap stuff :goodvibes but I can't get back into the kids books - still stuck in 2001:rotfl:

Buffy, I am right there with ya! I haven't scrapped in months! Not even sure when! Life is just too busy and when I do have down time I just want to sit! So I don't know what hte answer is! I need to get moving. My DD leaves elementary school this year....my goal was to have her school book up to date...I haven't even started to scrap this year!

we have a birthday party on Sat and the General leaves on Sunday for Vegas. And no not to play either, to bad he could have won me some $$ for a Cricut. LOL He has the best luck on the slots!

I bought a new book last week called Clean and Simple Scrapbooking by Simple Scrapbooks. I went through it last night and tagged a bunch of pages. It is really simple stuff without looking to plain.

Thanks for all the offers for doggie stuff! But I just remembered that I was going to make DH an album for father's day. Can you believe he asked for one!! He wants to carry it in his suitcase. I bought the Basic Grey 6x6 album. That's what I had planned on doing it at your place Lisa. So I guess after I finish Patchchild's CJ I'll do that first. I have a month, that should be plenty of time.
Thanks for all the support, I'm glad I'm not the only one in a funk but I'm sorry ya'll are in one too.

I think a lot of it has to do with you trying to get your house ready to put on the market. I went thru this when we were selling our home. It's hard to get things done when your under that much stress of selling a house. I remember I boxed mine things up for that short time. And once I got into our new home I was so ready to start up again. Good luck on selling the house...and I bet once that's done you'll be back to normal again.

I know you put off this project for now, but I wanted to tell you that Walmart has some great pet embellishments, including 8x8 paper pads for both cats and dogs. And right now they're all on clearance! Next time you're there you might want to check it out!
My Walmart emptied the entire scrap section. Everything was gone! Those were the pads I was looking for. I need to head to Waterford today so I'm going to look at their Super Walmart to see what I can find. I think I'll hit Target too.

We have about 1 year before we actually sell, but I want to be ahead of the game. We are going through each room, painting decluttering, etc. We are also going to get a home inspection done so we can fix potential problems before hand.

We sold a 3000 sq ft house and bought this one which is 1100 sq ft and we threw nothing out. Not one thing! :scared: We have since gotten rid of 3 dumpsters full of things but the house is so small that if you lay a piece of paper down it looks cluttered. I am going through my unload it phase. DH and I will go through phases where we just toss huge amounts of stuff. And right now it's my turn. LOL
I need to get out of this funk!!!! Anyone want to come to the middle of no where CT and hang out????
OK off to do some retail therapy, well not really. I need to buy food for the kiddos but I guess it counts right??

Our Walmart cleared out it's scrapbook section too. Then they moved it and added a half section of all Disney items. The newer items. The tall castle, space Mickey those new ones. I don't remember pricing. I'll be checking that out after picking up the bigger guy from school later on today.

Right now I need to finish going through my Disney Jolees and seeing what I need more of to finish my swaps.
