Has anyone else been completly disturbed by those trash vaccum things in the MK. When we went in Dec., we had finished watching Spectromagic and were waiting for Wishes to start, We were in a nice quiet spot sitting on a brick wall to the left of the hub at the road into liberty square and were enjoying the perfect evening when all of the sudden the LOUD trash machine was in our area and drove around in there for a good 10 minutes. Now, I'm not complaining because I do appreciate the fact that there isn't trash everywhere but, is there no other way to pick it up while guests are in the park. That thing just sounded like a loud leaf blower and was totally taking away from the experience. Has anyone else noticed these? :confused3

I don't like them either, but they are necessary. I've seen them use them in the areas where people tend to drop a lot of popcorn. If they don't get it cleaned up, the birds will be everywhere.

I've noticed they tend do use it a bit after the parades because people leave stuff everywhere. The trash becomes a hazard. I was totally disgusted the last time I watched a parade at MK. I couldn't believe the trash people just left where they had been sitting. Trash cans everywhere and they don't use them.

You are SO right! People not picking up after themselves is a huge pet peeve for me! :sad2:

Ok people. 10 minutes of trash collecting is not something to complain even slightly about. There's got to be dozens of things worse than this...

LIKE I SAID.....I'm not complaing only asking if anyone else had noticed. Obviously you haven't so then there was no need for you to post your smart comment.....thanks.

Not a fan of the noise, but you gotta respect the people and the machines that keep that place as spotless as it always is. :earsboy:
BTW, not saying you DON'T respect them Mike. :earsboy:

Pet peeve here too. When I lock up the softball fields after a night of intramural games here, I go in and pick up in the dugouts. People leave water bottles, lineup cards, and other assorted trash. There is a trash can literally right outside the dugout. How hard is it to drop trash in there?

Maybe if people didn't just leave trash everywhere they wouldn't have to use those loud machines to clean it up. :confused3

Maybe they could hand out trash bags to everyone entering the park and then have you clean a four foot sq radius................ :confused3

I have seen them and no I have not been "completely disturbed" by them like the OP says. In fact, I don't mind them at all.

I seem to have read you were "completely disturbed" about this. Sounds like a complaint to me. You don't need to post any more things that disturb you either.

It's hard not to notice them, but when you consider why they are out...I think I can handle a few minutes or noise for cleanliness. I am personally impressed at how particular they are to keep the park clean. I love it!!!!

Those are kind of hard to miss, aren't they? I told my husband we needed to get one of those for our house. I'm sure if it can clean the trash left behind there it can get my kids toys off the floor :rotfl2:

Me too!! I have pointed it out to people leaving their trash behind. I say in a nice voice "excuse me but I think you forgot to pick up your trash". The nice voice doesn't give them too much room to get nasty and defensive with me. That usually works.

Myst

:rotfl: Wonder how it would work as far as picking up dog hair ... sweeping out the couch ... dust bunnies ... :rotfl2:

hi,
I really dont like them, the gas makes me sick so if im sitting or standing by one I have to leave,
Ive never seen one used during the day and ive been to WDW a lot, its my opinion that they just want to get the nightly cleaning done early not that they are worried about a bird eating popcorn at 10pm or worried someone is going to trip over a cup thats been there all day.
I think they at least wait till after wishes to use them, just my opinion

just trying to edit my post sorry if this is a duplicate :guilty:

I think they are the most effective, and efficient means to clean up. If they were to do it manually, ie: broom and dust pan, the place would be a wreck, they just wouldn't be able to keep up.
