Hi! I've just ventured over to this board to get some inspiration to get my butt in shape for our disney wedding in January. So far, I've done pretty good. I have lost 36 pounds since January, but would like to lose another 40 before we leave for disney on December 29th. I started out in a tight 28 and am now in a comfy 22 or snug 20.
That will still leave me about 30 pounds heavier than my final goal (my start weight was 276, goal weight is 170). I plan on spending all of 2008 dedicated to getting that last 30 pounds off and keeping it off. It also doesn't help that I am almost 35 and have been carrying the weight since I was about 20. So, I think I need a full two years to lose the weight, learn new habits, and relearn how to take care of myself.
I have the most success by watching my calories and portion control. I have done low fat, low carb, low this, low that, and would always lose a few pounds and then stall out. I seem to be able to lose steady if I eat a decent breakfast (usually low fat plain yougurt and frozen blueberries), south beach diet wrap and large salad for lunch, and then just whatever everyone else is having for supper, just eat it on a salad plate.
I also use rice cakes for snacks. I love the caramel ones.
What I really need is ideas on eating out. For instance, this evening, I am meeting an old friend for Mexican, what is healthy at a mexican restaurant????
So, anyway, that's my story!
