Is May 7-14 a good time for WDW???

Welcome! Is there ever a bad time to visit WDW? I think not. Your dates should be good since they're after the big kickoff on May 5th. The 7th and 8th probably will be crowded because it's the weekend following the kickoff, but after that I think it would calm down.

Hi Jimmytwotimes! Welcome to the DIS!

That better be a good date because that's when I'm going. The last time I went in May back in 2001, the crowds were pretty light (not empty, but not packed either). The weather was very good--perfect for swimming, but not so hot that it makes your head pound.

Plus, the Flower and Garden show is going on, which is pretty neat. The topiaries are awesome. They also have Flower Power concerts at Epcot. If you go to www.wdwinfo.com there is a great section on the Flower and Garden.

I think you will have good time on your visit.Arrive at parks early and use fast pass and you will be fine.Have a basic plan in place on what park you want to visit what day and a idea of when and where you would like to eat.

We're going the 8th - 14th, so yup, I'd say it's a great time!

yes the days you are going are just fine
Days to avoid if you don't like HUge crowds

Christmas .... practically the entire XMAs News Years school holiday calendar
4th of July
Memorial Day weekend
Thanksgiving week
Easter Break/ spring break

YOu can still have a great time during those times - as long as you are not scared to death of enormous crowds and as long as you realize you will get few rides in compared to less hectic times.

The time you have picked, however, should be great. Practically no school in the nation will be out for summer before the 15th of may. And then on the 15th to the 20th maybe only 7 % of the nation gets out
