Hello Everyone I am new.

We are coming to Florida for a holiday with the kids to Walt Disney World..

This is a MASSIVE deal for us because we are a husband and wife travelling with 4 young children... BUT In addition to that we are travelling from Sydney to have 3 flights and lengthy stop overs to get there..

So we will be staying at Disneys Art of Animation. No problem there I figured out how to order the Disney Magic bracelet things.. But QUESTION.. Are they just the same as a "fast Pass" in regards to their use for rides? ( I know you can use it as your entry ticket, pictures and shopping etc)

Also I am in a wheelchair that I would not be able to push myself in all day and my husband wont be able too because we have our kids..

*I am aware that you can hire electric wheelchairs (scooters).. But I just wanted to know if anyone knows do they do a better price for hiring for like 7 days?
And
*if you needed or wanted to go from park to park on one day could you do that with a electric wheelchair? Easily?
*Is there a way to not have to get there early, line up and wait for a wheelchair(electric) like could you just keep it at your hotel each night?

Regarding Rides and being in a wheelchair.. I can move myself from my wheelchair to another chair or to briefly carefully stand so can go on most rides... What I wanted to know though is it seems that the electric wheelchair prob wouldnt fit into the lines...Nor would my normal manual wheelchair.. So how do we line up....? Because if it means we have to miss out I may as well just cancel the trip....

I am only asking because we have flown over before to go to Disneyland.. BUT i wasnt disabled then... And I know if I remember correctly that the lines are back and forth and some had steps throughout..
Do I need to get a ticket to line up elsewhere? Do I need to get something to say I am safe to ride on the rides?
Do my kids and hubby need to go on things while I do nothing all day?

Um also... If you didnt want to eat dinner at your hotel are places close enough by without a car that you could get some take away... It seems by google maps that places are all really far apart and a bus may be inconvenient? But Iv never been as I said so I have no idea.

Lastly.. I really like the outlets in Vegas... Is there anything like that here in Orlando? (or not a huge driving distance away... Less than 1 hr) I dont like spending full price and really like getting a good price.

I hope Iv not asked too many annoying NOOB questions... If anyone needs tips on things in Australia let me know maybe we can help each other.. lol:dance3:

Yes, your Magic Bands are used when you return for a fastpass selection. They are pretty much used for everything, your room key, your park ticket, purchasing items in stores, and for fastpass returns.

Also I am in a wheelchair that I would not be able to push myself in all day and my husband wont be able too because we have our kids..

I highly recommend you look into renting an electric wheel chair from an offsite company. You will be able to keep it with you at all times. You can take them on the buses. Since it will be yours for the week, you can also hop from park to park on the buses and not have to get a new wheel chair at each park. There are several vendors of electric wheel chairs that will deliver the chair right to your hotel and teach you how to use it. We rented one for my mother in law and it was great. Disney has configured all the rides so that you can take your wheel chair right up to the boarding area. You should not have any trouble in that regard. Sometimes you will use a different entrance, but there will be a cast member there to help. There are some rides that they have even designed special cars for that you can roll your wheel chair right onto, like Winnie the Pooh and It's a Small World, but there may be others. I honestly believe there is no easier place to travel with a disability than Disney. They make it very easy for you.

Disney provides buses to 'Downtown Disney' and there are a ton of restaurants there that you could eat. I'm not familiar with any public transportation options that lead off property though, I think taxis would be your best bet.

I think you are going to have a wonderful trip. What a big adventure for you!
