I will be staying at POP Century in September. I have back problems and I need to use an inversion table. I am unable to take one on the plane because it is too big. I have tried calling several medical rental places near Disney with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas for me on how to get an inversion table in my room?

Thank You!

Would it be too expensive to ship ahead of time/can you do that without having it at home for a few days? Can you buy a cheap one in Orlando (I think Sam's/Costco had some for under $200--which is probably close to a rental price).

I can not ship from home. I called UPS and it would cost at least $100 each way! I thought about going to Walmart or something to buy one when I got there, and then retuning it at the end of our stay. The problems with that are we will not have a car, I don't know if it would even fit in a cab or something (or how expensive it would be to use a taxi), and it would take time out of our 1st and last day there going to the store.
I thought I could perhaps order one from QVC or something and return it. But I don't know if I would be responsible for getting it to UPS myself, or if they can pick up at POP.

Sorry I think you misunderstood me--buy one in Orlando and leave it or ship it home. Not use and return.

I was judging the $$ based on 7 days at about $30 per day would be about $210--if a table rental is the same then if you bought one for under $200 then you wouldn't be "out" any $$$. I have NO idea what a rental would be on the table but it is worth comparing if you find a company that rents one.

I'm also not sure a room at Pop would have enough space for one if it is that big.

If you buy from QVC or other online places then just enter Pop's address as the shipping adress with note to hold for xxxx arrving xxxx. You then have the problem of getting it home.

Good luck and let us know how this turns out.

Maybe you could find an alternative to an inversion table for when you travel.....something smaller that you could transport yourself and you could easily use in a hotel room.

My hubby uses this and says it actually works quite well:

We used Walker Medical & Mobility Care equipment last November. We needed to rent a motorized recliner for my father. All the infomation they needed was our arrival and depature dates(paid by credit card for the chair). They coordinated the delivery and pickup with housekeeping at the Poly. They were actually recommended to us by the manager at the Poly. Their number is 407-518-6000.

Give them a call and they will tell you everything.

Good Luck!!

If you go with Belle's idea of buying a cheap one, then passing it on to someone, or getting rid of it, WalMart and Target both sell them in their online shops. With a quick search I found Target's lowest price is ~$200 and WalMart's is ~$120 (don't know whether that includes shipping or not). As Belle said, you probably won't get a rental for much less than that.

Hope that helps a bit, and good luck with your search! :thumbsup2
