We're headed to WDW this fall and we are a group of super duper picky eaters! Me not so much, but my hubby and son are very picky. We would never benefit from the DDP because of the pickiness.

However, I do want one special meal and since we're going to wait until the kids are older for a character meal, I want to do Biergarten. From what I've read the atmosphere is wonderful. Plus, DH spent time in Germany and I think he'd love to "go back" by visiting Germany at Epcot.

But, when I told him I wanted to make a reservation for Biergarten and that it was a buffet, he said to me, "Okay, I'll have fries." Uhhh, this ain't counter service buddy!

So, my question is will my french-fry-lovin' husband be able to eat anything at all at Biergarten? Or will we just be wasting our money?

Germany is awesome! We go all the time and just went again last month. There is a lot of food to choose from.

If your group is super picky why not go for a character breakfast instead?

Biergarten in amazing!

The atmosphere is incredible & there is food there for even the pickiest of eaters. The chicken schnitzel is essentially breaded chicken breast tenders (different from regular WDW chicken strips)...The spaetzel is wonderful too! There are salads, yummy pretzel bread and great meatballs.

I used to think German food was pretty scary, but after going to Biergarten, we now regularly visit local German restaurants here at home! :)

BTW: If you go, be sure to try the Bavarian Cheesecake & they have a drink (alcoholic) called the Apple Streudel that is to die for!

This restaurant is very ethnic with their food.... and if your husband is seriously hmmming and hawing (even though he did spend time in Germany) and saying he'll have the fries.... then I wouldn't choose this restaurant. It's nice- and fun, but the food is something totally different. I am not a picky eater, but when we ate here, I did not find anything I enjoyed.

Does he like Mexican food? San Angel is a beautiful restaurant in EPCOT (Mexico). The lighting is wonderful and the food is good. I like their lucnch menu best. There is also a ride inside that you can take the kids on.

Are you going to MGM?? Why don't you try the Sci-Fi or Primtime Cafe? These places serve "American" food and have very fun atmospheres.

Other then that, I would highly suggest a character meal with your kids. WHile I can see they're young, they would just be so cute at a character meal right now!

No.

My french-fry-lovin' DD didn't eat a thing!

I'd suggest looking at the menus on allears.net and sharing them with DH so you can find a restaurant that you both will be able to find something you like. There are hundreds of places to eat at WDW, you'll find something that makes everybody happy.

The food at Biergarten is VERY good - if you like German food. If you want something more "american" then you should go elsewhere. Like others have suggested a Character buffet dinner would probably work - Crystal Palace Chef Mickey's etc. or perhaps an American restaurant like Sci-Fi or the Rainforest Cafe?

I'd have your husband look at the menu, and if he still thinks he won't like it, book Le Cellier or something along those lines. I'd say he'd be okay, but there's different kinds of picky. Nobody here can say for sure.

a breakfast as well....no way to go wrong there. Unless he doesn't like standard breakfast fare either...then I can't help ya.

DH and I just dined at Biergarten on 5-12-07. We both love it there, but we are adventurous eaters and we love German Food. I don't think a picky eater would be very happy. However, is your DH a beer drinker? If he is, that may be enough to get him in the door. After a few German brews, the food might look ok to him???? :rotfl:
