I felt that way with the two previous inagurals. What I did was change the channel. I managed to completely avoid both events

Living in NY and having been affected by 9/11, your post is truly sad. Not agreeing with the policies of the president is one thing, but condescendingly counting on another terrorist attack just so you can say "I told you so" is SICK. Do you really care so little for America? I'm sorry that Obama wasn't your candidate but having so little support for the safety of our nation is truly disrespectful not only to the country, but to it's people.

Anyway, I think it's a good thing that you can turn on the TV and see the president, and so many people who support and love our country. Isn't it a good thing that so many people are getting involved, and that the spotlight's on our nation's leader rather than Britney Spears?! At least this is something of substance that actually matters.

I'm not counting on another terrorist attack so I can say I told you so. Not at all. I really feel as if it's going to happen. We've been safe since 9-11 because of Bush's willingness to fight back, so to speak. BHO doesn't have that same willingness.

I pray that we won't get attacked on our soil, but even our own VP promised we'd be attacked.

I DO support this country's safety, absolutely. If I didn't, I wouldn't be retired Navy.

DVDs work great too. I have managed to avoid the TV channels completely today.

I feel the same way about all the hype surrounding football, the Super Bowl, baseball, the World Series, tennis tournaments, basketball tournements, etc.. How do I avoid it? Turn off the television.. Pretty easy..

It's an unusually momentous occasion, so I would expect quite a bit of coverage..

His inauguration is proof positive that anyone can suceed in this country if they work hard, regardless of race, creed, culture, religion (did I miss anything?).

Yep the one that is still left gender. That one still needs to happen. But I do wish our new president well.

I am hoping for selective failure there are many things that he wants to do that I absolutely disagree with and I hope that he is unsuccesfull in implementing those things. That doesn't mean I want the country to fail, it means that I don't believe that success follows the same path that he does.

As I said earlier in this thread, my sister is an Obama supporter (well....more of a Democrat supporter) and a HUGE Bush hater. I have told her many times I hope Obama proves me wrong. I will gladly listen to her telling me, "I told you so", because I don't want to be right about the fears I have.
