It wasn't so funny earlier.

Well, I finally got my pop-up today. I went to Giant Recreation World in Ormond, and they walked me through everything to know. Grrreat!!:cool1: SO they tell me they're going to deliver...Grrreat!:cool1:

Took em forever, but they finally showed up and hour and a half later. This old gentlemen driving a big honkin pick up is pullin my pretty new pop-up. YIPPEE!! I tell him I would like him to park it on our extra car port off to the side. He is hesitant, as we have some soft sand in the yard next to car port. We both take a loook and he decides he should be able to do it. I think so too as long as the wheels to pop-up don't go off carport. I tell him this. SO what does he do??? :rolleyes1 You got it! He drives that puppy right off the car port and into the dirt/sand...with his big honkin truck. He goes to back er up...no can do, he is in a big honkin truck with bald tires...whizzzzzzzz....get the picture??:3dglasses
Oh yeah!!

My neighbor comes over, (hubby is on the road) shovel in hand as well as wood. An hour later, he has seemingly become a permanant lawn fixture, or so it seems. He decides it's time to get off work. He calls his wife who live in the same neighborhood. She comes and gets him, and leaves the truck!!! Giant Rec is closed, so I guess they have to come get it while I'm at work tomorow.

I can only hope and pray that my new yard decoration is gone when I get home tomorow.. here's hopin.:sad2:

Oh by the way, my neighbor, his wife and I managed to get my pop-up pushed onto the car port. I'll be payin for that tomorow you can bet.

That was my fun for the day. How about y'all??:yay:

Blessings,
Winnie:banana:

Ya know, I used to wonder why folks in neighboring campsites used to watch us pull into a campsite on a Friday night, back our pop-up in, and unpack. :happytv:

Watching people park the camper in the carport/garage/campsite is fun because it seldom ever goes as planned (I speak from personal experience!). Setting up is even more fun (although not so fun for the hybrid and TT folks because they get done too fast). The set-up is even MORE fun....

It's like watching a car crash in slo-mo. :scared1: You can't bear to watch so you put your hands over your eyes but you end up opening your fingers a crack to see what happens......

is watching people back-in and un-pack. it doesn't matter what they are pulling, driving or unpacking.:rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about the delivery problem. At least the RV was in your yard when all the problems happened and not at the side of the road some where between the dealer and your house.

I think watching people launching their boat at a lake is more fun than watching the parking and setting up a RV. We saw a guy get hyper because he was drifting away from the dock and decided to start the engine and put it in forward and then ran the boat up on to shore. How about backing the boat into a 25 foot wide launch ramp with plenty of room to maneuver the tow vehicle and the trailer and still wind up taking 15 minutes to get it done while other boaters are waiting.

Well, I just got a call this morning from "Bob", the guy with the truck (yard decoration). He said there'll be a tow truck at my house at 8AM. I told him we got the pop-up on the car port and he couldn't believe it! He apologized quite a bit. He said he shouldn't have let the PU wheels leave the pavement....Uhhhhh....yeah!!:rotfl:

Anyway, the yard deco should be gone when I get home. And I never realize what a spectator sport this could be. My husband drives an 18 wheeler for a living. I can't wait to see how he does. He's been in truck rodeo's and placed well. We'll see how he places in the Pop-Up Rodeo!!:rolleyes1 hehehe!!

Have a great day everyone!!
Blessings,
Winnie

congrats on the new camper (we love our pop up) and for getting your lawn decoration removed.

i have to laugh at all the posters saying they love watching others try to park/put up their camper.....we give you so little to look at. we have use that pop up so many times, we have gotten it down to a science.

We actually have had fellow campers pass by while/after we were setting up and commented that we work like a well oiled machine.

i do have to admit that FW can be a tight parking squeeze if you are trying to back in and all the sites across the way from you are full. they have narrow trails there. We usually know when we approach if it is going to be way too tight and just unhook and hand push that sucker into place. Much easier now that the boy is a strapping pre-teen and can lend a hand also.
