Before I comment on this installment, let me pause to let you know, I got the reservation!!!!! Apparently when you call, it was still showing as no availability. I got one very unhelpful CM who tried to tell me that date hadn't even been released yet and to check back. So, between Jenn and I FBing about it, she found the one for 3. I was out all day and couldn't get it to work on my phone. I thought all was lost since I couldn't check again until the next day. And the 3 was still there! So I went ahead and booked it, but made my fake person a child, so the initial debit from my card would be less, and I will just have to remember to cancel. All that to say, I'll be there the 14th, too, along with my mama, who is a super fun Disney person. I can't believe we'll be missing each other that extra first night, but yay for a super fun evening of Wishes Dessert Partying!,

I have been following along on Twitter and Instagram and was so sad to hear about Snifter. I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a dear pet but at least she is not suffering any longer. That doesn't help much though
On a brighter note: you will be in Disney before you know it! For longer than you originally planned! And getting to stay at the wonderful BWV (unless your wait list comes through which would be super awesome too) So yay for the positive things going on I'm glad you have trip planning to provide you some distraction.

Haha, totally! It's not a terrible feeling. I like mornings where we explore other resorts, it's very relaxing!

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is but they were not feelin' it! But the Tonga Toast is worth going there alone!

We are going to MNSSHP on September 17th! We thought about doing it on the 13th, but decided we wanted to wait and do the party on our anniversary! But we will be at the Villains party on Friday the 13th, along with everyone else who is probably heading over there, haha. Yes, our company gives us unlimited vacation... isn't that insane?! It's obviously nothing you can abuse, but it's really awesome to have! And even better, they just announced that we are getting 3-day weekends for the month of August! Like, what company does that?! PAID FRIDAYS OFF, no big deal! I'm so excited though.

I HAVE SEEN THEM! I literally made a note on my calendar to buy the t-shirts for Matt and me on that specific day in August! Like, they're amazing. I can't wait to buy them!

Yeah, I heard that but I hope it's a totally false rumor. You can't get rid of The Muppets!

Before I continue with my TR...

I'm back! Sorry I went MIA there for a bit... like I said, my friend was visiting, and work got insane, so I haven't had much of any time to DIS. BUT I am back! And I kiiiind of have a fire lit under my butt to get this TR done, especially since we're only 48 DAYS away from our September trip. I can't EVEN believe it.

Speaking of which, some of you guys heard the news, but our waitlist for Wilderness Lodge came through! So we'll be staying there from Sept. 11th-15th, then switch over to Beach Club Villas from the 15th-22nd! We are super excited that our wait list came through, because it'll give us an extra night at Wilderness Lodge... and now we are DEFINITELY heading over to Magic Kingdom as soon as we throw our stuff in our room! I also did online check-in for our stay at Wilderness Lodge today, so we REALLY are super close to our trip!

AND in other awesome news? We are signing all of the paperwork for our DVC membership tomorrow! After we get that taken care of, I have to send everything into the OCC office in Florida, wait for them to record the new deed, then send it back to me, then I send EVERYTHING to DVC, where we then OFFICIALLY become DVC members! I'll keep you updated on when that happens, but tomorrow is the biggest step in all of this!

Okay, enough blabbering from me, onto the rest of our Day 8 on our lovely vacation!



Chapter Forty-Six: Momma Mia, Momma Mia!
Day 8: January 24th, 2013

Now, as I mentioned during a previous update, we were expecting a special guest for this evening... and that guest was... MY MOM! Or as I call her, Momma Mia.

My Mom travels for her a job A LOT, and just so happened to be lecturing in Tampa while we were in Disney World, so she decided to make a little trip over to Disney World to meet up with us for dinner and hanging out around Epcot!

My Mom actually had arrived at Epcot earlier, but since we were taking a mid-day break, we told her we'd meet up with her at around 4:30. Bruce, Amy, Matt and I all headed over to Epcot at around 4:30, but my Mom told me she had JUST gotten on Ellen's Energy Adventure.

OF ALL THE RIDES MY MOM COULD CHOOSE, she went with Ellen. HAHAHA, my Mom cracks me up.

Since we knew she'd be on that for a while, we headed over to Club Cool for some refreshing soda... and to give Amy and Bruce the Beverly treatment.

Here were both Matt and I, SO excited to laugh like little 5 year olds at their reactions...

And... nothing. THEY DIDN'T EVEN THINK IT WAS BAD. In fact, they thought it was a pretty nice palate cleanser.

I thought they were crazy... and both Matt and I were disappointed by the lack of a reaction, hahaha.

We left Club Cool and watched the beautiful fountain for a bit.. I love watching it!

But then we split up from Bruce and Amy, because they had their own ADR over at Teppan Edo. Since my Mom was still on Ellen, Matt and I went to MouseGear and bought a Mickey Mouse Premium Bar air freshener and a Brave pin...

buuut of course, I failed at capturing this purchase for some reason.

I stopped to take a few photos of the monorail/just Epcot in general, both of which I really liked.

But the next one was definitely my favorite.

After stopping for photos, we still had a bit more time to kill, and there was no line for Mexican Donald, so OBVIOUSLY I needed to meet him!

He was kind of adorable. And it worked out that I had my Donald headband/bow on today.. buuuut I forgot to show it to him! Wompwomp.

My Mom found us at 5:30, which was perfect timing for our reservation at San Angel Inn!

After giving my Mom hugs and catching up real quickly, we were seated in a great spot near the Volcano.

We put in our orders and were brought out the delicious chips and salsa... which always has a spicy kick to it!

Matt went with the Mole Poblano, which has Grilled chicken breast served over a bed of poblano rice, with the classic mole, made with nuts, spcies, chilies and a hint of cocoa

I decided to go with the Carne Asada, because I can never NOT get carne asada. This was New York strip served with cheese enchilada, black refried beans, red bell pepper, onion, Mexican rice and guacamole.

My photo of it was terrible because the lighting in this restaurant is basically non-existant, but this gives you an idea:

My Mom went with the Tortilla Soup, then decided to also get a quesadilla. She enjoyed her food, but I think she didn't love the sour cream because she wasn't really used to authentic Mexican sour cream, haha.

We ended our meal with the Helado de Dulce de Leche, which was basically caramel ice cream, while Matt went with the Crema Bavaria:

We caught up over a delicious dinner, which was really fantastic as always. San Angel is a total hidden gem, and reminds me a lot of the Blue Bayou in Disneyland with the ambience/setting. You have a ride that goes right past the restaurant, which is really neat to see.

After we paid for dinner, we headed outside and the moon was beautiful this night!

I think World Showcase is my favorite at night. It's no longer feeling like you are walking on the surface of the sun, the lights are all on, and there is a really awesome vibe to that area.

Luckily, Bruce and Amy had just finished their dinner, so they came over to Mexico to meet up with us.

Amy and I REALLY wanted to get margaritas, so we headed over there as a group, and then decided we needed some photos with our margaritas.

Amy was trying her darndest to keep that sombrero on, hahaha. You'll probably remember this from our trip video, as we shook maracas with our margaritas and over-sized sombreros.

We also grabbed a photo with my mom (aka, Momma Mia), with our lovely sombreros on, hahaha.

We continued on with our stroll around the world, stopping in Norway so Matt and Bruce could buy some Norwegian beer... and that obviously called for a BFF photo of the two of them. I love this photo!

After they grabbed their beers, we strolled on over to China to take a quick looksie around. I never realized how beautiful the China pavilion is at night!
