I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

Oh, that pretzel looks so good! Not as good as the carrot cake cookie... but I digress. YUM!!

Ok I just read all of your posts and geez I'm having so much fun! It's like I'm right there with y'all! Your photo on dinosaur was awesome but I couldn't stop laughing at Matt's death stare at the Dino cam! Love it! You are so entertaining and you tell it like it is. Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to read more!

I have to say I haven't had one of those pretzels, and I'm hesitant with the jalapeno portion haha!

I have to say that I love Chefs, and Remy is absolutely adorable! I'm still baffled by the way they get him to work, haha...pure magic. All that food looks so good! Making me hungry!! I cannot wait for Disney food again!

OMG, they're SO good. You really can't taste the jalapeno that much and it's not even that spicy. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to spicy stuff, so that should tell you something, haha.

Haha I'm the same way. I want to know how he works, because he is so cute! And yeah, writing updates and looking at Disney food is kiiiiind of killin' me! I need to be back NOW!

First off, I am so jealous that you get to go to Disneyland!!! I've only been once, and I absolutely loved it, and I'm dying to go back, especially since Cars Land is now open.

Yay for more rides on EE!!!! I'd spend all day riding it if I could. Except I'd probably get sick. Just like Matt in the photo haha.

I would so love to be able to see Remy. Unfortunately, nothing at Les Chefs really appeals to me, so it seems a little silly to eat there just for Remy (though it's tempting). I'm curious to hear about Bruce and Amy's opinion of Biergarten. We went last trip, and were pretty disappointed. Not in the food, just the show. My family is in agreement that the show in Busch Gardens Williamsburg is better haha, because they have a German themed restaurant (though it serves American food).

Oh thank you! I can't wait to go back!! It's so amazing. And CarsLand was kind of mind-blowing, even though I don't like Cars. It's that awesome!

I love EE, soooo much. It's my favorite!

That's a bummer because Remy is so fantastic to see in person. The mac 'n cheese at Chefs is amazingly delicious! That's a bummer you guys didn't really like Biergarten; to be honest, we didn't get a FULL review of it from Bruce and Amy, but I will get to that when they go! Haha.

So jealous about your trip to Disneyland and getting to stay at the Grand Californian. I haven't been to DL in 6 years and would love to go back.

Aww, Remy is so cute. All the food looks really good too!

Aw thanks, we're so stinkin' excited to go back! It IS nice to only be like a 2 1/2 hour flight from a Disney park! I just wish we were sneaking in one more trip in May, but unfortunately we just couldn't fit it in our schedules!

Remy is adorable, and the food is wonderful there!

YUM YUM YUM!! I'm so close to just booking us at LC. I've put it off for all these years because I didn't think it would be too kid-friendly, but it always just looks so delicious...plus Remy himself should be enough kid entertainment, right??:confused3 There's just the issue of loving the QS and snack options all around Epcot. We don't seem to ever be too hungry because we can't keep from eating all day long! Plus, I think we're gonna walk over to Beaches and Cream one day, so that would take up a meal...hmmmm...decisions, decisions...

Biergarten sounds like a great place for the two of them to dine, assuming she felt better the next day!

I am really intrigued to see where that part of the title came from...and a little scared...:lmao:

Oh man, you should do it sometime! I always see families in there, so I think it'd be perfect for you guys. Plus, Remy would AMAZE all of the kiddos! But I totally know what you mean about the snacking around Epcot... There are so many amazing choices!

Yeah, it seemed right up their alley since they both love Germany!

Bahaha, it's coming up soon, and it was kind of horrifying.. but also hilarious. :rotfl:

Yay EE! I love the pics of you guys on there, you look so happy! Well except for the one where Matt looks sick! :rotfl2:

YUM Jalapeno pretzels!!! One of my favorite things at Animal Kingdom! I know they have them in other parks, but they are an AK snack to me! :cool1:

I've been to Les Chefs twice now, and both times I wanted to love it, and didn't! It's a beautiful restaurant, and it's good, but it's just not great like I'm expecting it to be! :confused3 But I agree, Remy is amazing, I love the fact that he comes to your table and squeaks at you, so cute! :thumbsup2

Aw thanks! I think Matt was just chatting about something to me, or something, who knows, hahaha.

YUP! So with you on that; we only get those pretzels in AK!! Best AK snack in my opinion!

That's such a bummer you're not loving Chefs! It's not the most amazing food, BUT I think it's pretty good and along with Remy, it makes it a fun dining experience!

I finally finally caught up yay!! It shouldn't have taken me this long but they've started to do this crazy thing where they expect me to do work at my office not catch up on the Disboards so I've been a lot more behind recently hahaha

Your trip video is so adorable and I love it! We wanted to do one from our last trip but I wasn't sure if it'd be weird without kids but yours is exactly what I would want ours to be!!!

I guess we just missed each other this January! We were there the 3-10! It totally was much more crowded January 13 than January 12.

Also, I can already tell we're gonna get along. Why? You have a GOONIES SHIRT on in your pictures! HEY YOU GUUYYYSSS! Ah love.

I can't wait until we're all there in September. A Dismeet is totally in order.

It's so awesome that you're going to DLR and staying at the Grand Californian too! Not gonna lie, I'm pretty jealous. I really wanna make a trip out to DLR but it is gonna be so much more expensive coming from the East Coast that I've decided when we do make it, I want it to be part of a long, huge California trip where we go for like three weeks and just hit up everything- DLR, Universal, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, Six Flags, the beach, the whole works. My logic is, if it's gonna be more expensive anyway, might as well make it an extra-expensive mega trip. That's totally justified right?

Anyway, your TR is amazing. There are so many other individual things from updates I wanted to comment on along the way but I didn't write them down and forgot.

YAY! So glad you're here and you caught up! Bahaha, welcome to my life at work! I keep trying to take breaks to catch up on the DIS but lately that is just NOT happening.

Thanks so much! That video took a while to put together but it was SO worth it. You should totally do one on your next trip, seriously! I'm making another one for sure. :)

We totally just missed you guys then! And yeah, the crowds were wwwwayyyyy higher than I thought they'd be!

HAHA I love the Goonies! Huge fan. Fun fact: Matt and I are going down to Cannon Beach in a few weeks... which is where the filmed the final scene of the movie with the huge rocks! We went last year, and it's one of our favorite mini-vacations to take!

Heck yes to the DISmeet, for sure! Can't wait! :yay:

I am SO beyond excited to stay there, I can't even explain. But I totally hear you on the whole making a huge west coast trip! It's pretty pricey for us to fly from Seattle to Orlando, but thankfully I have a companion fare that works out well and makes the price of flights not as bad. But that's why our Disney World trips are always 10 days!

Thank you again, I'm so glad you're here!! :goodvibes

Lovin how in the background of the "dorky Matt" pic, Pear White's making an appearance...

Pear White...hahah, see what I did there? :rotfl2:

Ughhhh I need to get to Chefs de France!

Bahaha, I love it, Pear White. :rotfl:

Yes you do! It's such a fun dining experience!!

Cute pics of Remy. :)

Thanks! It helps that he's so adorable, haha. :)

Great updates!! Dinosaur photo is absolute perfection! I was nearly in tears! :rotfl:

Les Chefs de France was on my ADR list last trip but somehow didn't end up happening. I am dying to interact with Remy and it will definately be a must do for our next trip.

LOVE your upcoming trips.... GCH will be amazing. So happy that you are returning to DL, since that TR is where I found you. ;)

Hahaha, glad you thought it was hysterical! OMG, we were dying!

Les Chefs is a must-do for you! It's just such a neat experience!!

I can't even begin to explain how excited I am for our upcoming trips. And to do Disneyland while staying at GCH. EEEEE I can't even wait!! :yay: Now let's just hope for less rain, hahaha.

You should have tried to sell a copy of the self portrait photo to that girl behind you. She'd never get that angle otherwise. You could have make some coin. :thumbsup2

I'm not normally a "fancy dinner' type", but interacting with Remy just looks like such a cool experience. Plus I think I could seriously live on strawberry shortcake. :goodvibes

Hahaha, it's so true!! It's kind of an awesome picture of her with her excitement! Though not sure how much she'd love our faces in it, hahaha.

Oh man, it IS such a cool experience! The food isn't that crazy fancy at lunch, which is why we've gone both times then! Makes it a more casual experience, and obviously Remy is the highlight!

Subbing!

I am love, love, loving this report so far :dance3:

Awesome, welcome! And I'm so so happy you have been enjoying my TR!! :)

Wow, you're staying a the Grand Californian?! That will be amazing! I live about 2.5 hours away from DL and stayed at the GC once- it was so fancy and neat. Are you guys flying in or driving? If you're driving, be aware that parking (Self-parking and valet) are both kinda pricey. Also, our hotel room was right above White Water Snacks so it was very easy (and too tempting) to pop down for some nachos, yum yum. :)

Yeah, I'm still pinching myself to check if this is real! Seriously! I am so excited about it. We are flying in, the drive would be a weebit too long for us from Seattle, haha. I think cheap to fly, too, believe it or not! So we don't have to worry too much about the parking stuff, which is good! We usually have a shuttle pick us up and drop us off at the airport.

I am really excited for White Water Snacks, believe it or not! I can't even wait to check out that hotel!!

All caught up!!
How awesome that you get to stay t the Grand Californian!! So fantastic!!!

So sad that Amy doesn't feel good now. What a bummer! But it looks like you had a great morning! And great job on getting Bruce and Amy the biergarten ADR!

YAY! So glad you're back! Your Hawaii photos were making me SO jealous! AHHH it looked so amazing.

I am beyond excited for GCH! It's going to be awesome.

Yeah, I felt so bad for her. Such a bummer. :( And thanks! I was glad it worked out for them, otherwise that would have been a waste of credits!

Ugh, poor sick Amy. It sucks to miss out on a trip.

I totally agree, Ratatouille doesn't get enough love! It's such a brilliant movie! It's one of my favorites by Pixar as well! Remy is the cutest!

Your desserts do look amazing, so pretty! Sounds like a great meal. UM... considering you're in the World Showcase, I think I know where this is going, as far as the title explanation goes. Yikes!!

It is the worst. :(

I'm glad you agree! Remy is seriously adorable. I am now in the mood to re-watch the movie!

They were so good! We love it there. Aaand yeah, I'm pretty sure you get what's going on, hahaha. Oh dear. :(

Oh, that pretzel looks so good! Not as good as the carrot cake cookie... but I digress. YUM!!

OMG, it really is SO good. I'm in love with those pretzels... BOTH are amazing. I could go for either right now!

Aww, this comment made me so happy! I'm so glad you've enjoyed reading my TR and feeling like you're on the trip! I aim to give that kind of experience, because I myself LOVE re-living our trip! Matt's death scare CRACKS ME UP! Like what was he thinking?! HAHAHAHA. So funny!!

Again, thanks for the wonderful comment and I'm so happy you joined in on the fun!

Chapter Twenty-Seven: The tale of getting pooped on... and not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Day 5: January 21st, 2013

So as we left off, we headed out of Chefs and Bruce mentioned he wanted to get some bread for Amy, since that tends to be something good for people with stomach bugs. So what better place to visit than the new French bakery, Les Halles?

Upon walking in, we were greeted by a way bigger space and TONS of amazing-looking pastries!

file_zps62ea9e87.jpg

Bruce lucked out, because they actually sold baguettes here! Matt decided he really wanted something for later, so he ended up getting a Sugar Brioche. It looked SO good.

file_zps579afd56.jpg

We paid and Bruce decided to head back to check on Amy and get her some food. He told us he'd be back in a bit, so Matt and I decided to explore World Showcase while we waited for him.

file_zps5c000b6d.jpg

As we started to head out of France, we saw a PhotoPass photographer near the fountain and decided to get some photos taken!

file_zps191fc9a0.jpg

file_zpsa9f74be6.jpg

How sweet, right? If I remember correctly, this photographer was quite a character and kept telling us really cheesy jokes. But! He totally knew what he was doing so that was definitely good.

We left France and decided to explore Morocco. We'd never REALLY looked at it in the past, and I'm so glad we took the time to go through it all! That pavilion is absolutely amazing.

file_zpsd5909a5d.jpg

file_zps0fd5dff3.jpg

We went back towards the Fez House and I was SO impressed.

file_zpse2b7e2e0.jpg

file_zps59829d36.jpg

file_zpsa47be83f.jpg

We explored some of the shops, which had these really pretty lamps and rugs.

file_zps4fc16c0c.jpg

We made our way over towards Marrakesh and took some photos in that area, as well.

file_zps21892056.jpg

We both REALLY fell in love with Morocco. Matt had never really spent much time exploring it when he grew up, since his family didn't do a ton of exploring World Showcase... So it was nice experiencing something new with him in Disney!

Anyway, Bruce still wasn't bad so we decided to just sit down and hang out in Japan... when this little guy came up to me in the zen garden!

file_zps5e6dceee.jpg

Little baby lizard!

So, while we are waiting, I get the brilliant idea that this would be a perfect time for me to go and get The American Dream! I'd never heard of it before until my friend Danni had posted about it on instagram and it looked SO good. So I was determined to try it during our trip!

I told Matt he could just hang back while I ran over to The American Adventure to grab my drink.

As I made my way over, I noticed an IMMENSE amount of seagulls hanging out in the area. I even remember as I was strolling over over thinking to myself, "Oh man, that would be terrible if one of those birds crapped on me."

So I continued on, and it was kind of like slow motion. The seagulls are started flying upwards, I was speedwalking, and I suddenly felt something sharply pelt my upper arm.

I knew. I knew I had been hit and I let out a slow-motion, "NOOOOOOOOOO!"

I looked down and yes, the stupid seagull pooped on me.

I was now one of those dorks walking around the park after being crapped on.

There were a ton of people around me and I started to basically RUN over to Fife and Drum Tavern, holding my arm out in disgust while hoping no one noticed this crazy woman running around with a huge bird turd on her arm. I'm sure it was comical for anyone who saw the whole thing go down.

There was a man at the ordering window but I immediately went around him, excused myself as I grabbed a ton of napkins and wiped off my shirt. It was pretty gross, but fortunately it didn't get on my actual skin, so that was at least good.

The old man walked away, and it was my turn to order. I was kind of still disturbed about my bird turd bombing, so the cast member threw me off when he asked, "How's it going?!"

I stopped for a second, looked at him and replied, "Um, well... Okay, except I just got crapped on by a seagull on my way over here."

The cast member sat there for a moment, trying to get a read as to whether or not I was really upset, then just busted out LAUGHING... which in turn, made me die laughing.

I'm honestly thankful he started laughing because it really was what I needed at that moment, to just laugh the whole thing off.

After we stopped giggling like 5 year olds, he asked me what I wanted to order.

"Well, the whole reason for me coming over here... I'd like an American Dream!"

The cast member looked at me, and without skipping a beat, replied, "Sure, though it looks like you already got the American Dream on your arm."

Cue the two of us DYING laughing for the next few minutes.

BAHAHAHA, it was such a perfect and hilarious response that we were both dying.

He went and got me my drink, I thanked him as I walked away laughing to myself. It was seriously so hysterical. At least I can now say I've joined the ranks of many Disney guests who have been crapped on by a bird in World Showcase, right?!

Anyway, I made my way back over to Matt while cautiously looking around for any rogue seagulls looking to drop another crap bomb on me.

As I approached, I was laughing and told Matt what had happened, and the whole interaction with the CM. He was laughing pretty hard while apologizing that I'd been pooped on.

So unfortunately, by the time I got back, my drink had gotten all melty so it wasn't nearly as pretty as it was when I initially got it. I still wanted to get a photo of it though!

file_zpsa8c30ea7.jpg

There is a strawberry slush on top, vanilla soft serve in the middle, and then blue raspberry slush on the bottom... So when not all melty, it looks like a nice little patriotic drink.

This was SO good and so perfect for a warm afternoon! It seriously hit the spot. I will definitely be getting this on our next trip in September!

While I sipped on my drink, Matt and I decided to go explore Japan a bit, and stopped by the koi pond.

file_zpse19f32f3.jpg

I'm always amazed at how huge those fish are!

file_zps679dc1a5.jpg

The drummers were out, so we stopped and watched them for a bit, as well.

file_zps4fd7c38d.jpg

Bruce finally made his way back (without Amy, wompwomp). We told him all about my poopageddon (let's see how many different names I have the poop incident in this update... and also, i've never written the word poop/crap so many times in an update), and he of course laughed.

With Bruce in tow, we continued on with our little trip around the world!

Continued in next post

I have yet to ever be in the France bakery! I’ll at least stop by next time to check it all out!

I LOVE THAT FOUNTAIN! Days when there’s a pp there, my life is made! I really want dance pictures there, it’s so pretty! Cuuuute pics! I need to take more pictures INSIDE the countries in WS…goal next trip!

Oh my gosh I’m glad that your getting pooped on adventure still had some hilarity to it! HA! Poopagedon! That’s gold.

:rotfl2: At least you were able to make light of the being pooped on thing...And it didn't get on your skin!!!!

AHHHAHAHAHAHA! I'm so sorry but that was too funny!

Now watch karma get me on my trip! I rebuke you poop karma!

I'm so happy about the new pastry shop in France. They DEFINITELY needed more space.

God Dani, in the photopass photo I can actually FEEL THE HAPPY!. :)

Ahhhh you got pooped on... That's what you get for showboatin'! ;)

I may have to try that drink in, I don't know, tomorrow! It looks delish. :thumbsup2

Another great update! (It would be so easy to make a poop joke, but I'lll refrain...)

Morocco is one of those amazing places at World Showcase. Our first time we were just blown away by how it totally made us feel like we were somewhere far from Florida, to the point of almost being uncomfortable, but still amazing... We have the American Dream on our September Snack list. It was on our list last time but we never got to it, we'll have to try harder this time, and definitely visit the French Bakery too.

Ah Remy, so adorable! Chefs is the only appropriate restaurant to see a rat while you eat and its ok. :rotfl:

I can't believe you got bombed by the seagull! Isn't that considered good luck though?! :thumbsup2

That American Dream drink sounds yummy! Last time I had the Doofenslurper so I could drink from an Erlenmeyer flask, because I'm a nerd. :rotfl:

WOW. Okay, so wow. I wasn't even planning on stopping by Les Halles to be honest. But after seeing these pictures... YUP, I'll make a stop there. Yup.

Morocco is so gorgeous, totally agree. :thumbsup2

OMG. Oh yuck yuck yuck!!! Poop is not a fun substance. But the good news is that you took it in stride and were able to laugh about it. Thank goodness for the CM making you laugh!

Last big trip we went on ... I think 2010?? I got pooped on - my right arm .... On the skin. Brett laughed at me and I stood there shocked and disgusted and speechless. Gross. After I sanitized my body and found words to express my emotions I eventually laughed too. But it's still gross and I swear I can still feel the exact spot on my arm where it happened. Eewwww

Oh noo I can't believe you got popped on! At least you got a CM who made the situation laughable! He coulda been totally awkward about it which would've made it worse!

At the American Dream looks really yummy! That's going on my list for September!

PS I totally stalked you on Instagram. I'm @RNCourtney over there!

Hey that's me! I'm super stoked you liked the American Dream. Is it bad that I'm contemplating driving to Orlando right now for one?!

And Morocco is more than likely my favorite pavilion in the WS. I just love the king's involvement and being so stoked to be a part Epcot that he sent his royal craftsmen to do the tile and art!

Is it SeptembMarch yet?

Trying to get caught up on everyone's TR's...so much happens around here in a week's time! Not only are you going back to DL, you also got pooped on in World Showcase!! :lmao: I'm glad the CM could make you laugh about it, because honestly I would have just dissolved into tears probably. I actually have been pooped on before on a school field trip (on my actual SKIN!) and it is horrifying!!

:woohoo: on going back to DL! And staying on-site! :yay::dance3: That's amazing! I am so jealous. :goodvibes

It's appropriate that I'm reading this entry today, because over the weekend I had a bird poop on my iPhone. Guess he was an Android fan.
