I'm just not as savy! Help!

We've gone to WDW twice..... both times I paid full package rates. (yeah yeah... go ahead laugh at me.... get it out of your system! ) We had MYW hoppers + dining.
Assuming my son won't need surgery....we are planning on going in July 2007. I consider myself a pretty frugal person and I'm always looking for a bargain..... I just haven't figured out how to save any money at DisneyWorld!!!!

I saw a code watch thread for July 2007.... but I'm thinking none of that would apply to me since I'm not AP or DVC ?

So, if someone would kindly share their wisdom.... I would appreciate it!

From time to time, there are discount Codes anyone can use--just keep watching these boards. You'll see it. And there's always the AAA discount, 10% or 15% off the room price, depending on the season. Watch your seasons, there is a significant difference also in room prices depending on the season that you go: Value season, regular season, peak season, etc.

Sign up at www.mousesavers.com for the monthly newsletter, you will find out all types of ways to save. There is an example of packages vs room only. One of the biggest decisions you are going to have to make is if you want the dining plan or not...that will drive what you can do otherwise.

Are you committed to July, there are sometimes good discounts/packages for end of August. You should see what times you are able to travel and then check the historical information on discounts at mousesavers-and hope for the best.

I kinda had the same questionings as the OP. But what if.....you book rack rate with Disney, and a general code comes out? Will they apply it if you give them a call or will you have to cancel and re-book?

I just got back and am itching for a new ticker and was wondering if I should just wait it out and see. Either way, pretty sure we are returning...What should I do?

If you book it yourself, you must call and cancel and rebook under the new code. If you use Dreams Unlimited, they will try to rebook when the codes come out.
