I cannot stand Idina Menzel's voice . Don't get me too wrong...I KNOW she is incredibly talented, with a powerful voice, but I just can't stand it. I think Let it Go is a mediocre song on its own (regardless of who sings it) though I haven't seen the movie, so I am sure context will help a bit, but as a standalone? Meh.

But Idina...like nails on a chalkboard to me . And now, the beatings may commence.

I agree that she wasn't so great in Frozen, however, I cannot say the same for Rent or Wicked where her voice really does shine. Let It Go is a mediocre song at best, with a boring verse and an average-at-best standard pop chorus. I think the last few notes are great, but you can't say a song is amazing based on that.

But I love Idina when it comes to her other roles...

She was in "Wicked" for a long time.

My husband complains every time I put on her version of the song. My daughter and I both like it. Just a whole different vibe than the Demi Lovato version, which we also like.

The song underwhelms me, too. I'm not familiar with her outside of Frozen, though. I prefer the Demi Lovato version. I think the song overall sounds better, not just the voice.

I feel the same way about Springsteen, sounds like he's constipated! and the fact that i'm from Jersey, i get alot of grief from everyone! they think because he's from here we are all supposed to love him. And i do love Indina have seen her in Rent and Wicked. but haven't heard the song from Frozen yet.

That being said, I love Idina as well as her voice, although I haven't heard her version of this song yet (haven't seen the movie yet)..

And I'm so sad about her break up with Taye.

Haven't seen Frozen and didn't know she was in it. Have you heard "Defying Gravity"? Can't imagine anyone singing it better than Idina.
