Okay, so Photoshop World is an embarrassment of riches, quite honestly. There's so much information, learning, and fun jammed into three days that you can and probably will come out of it with your head swimming with excitement. This was my eighth Photoshop World, and as always, I couldn't wait to try out some of what I learned.
I got to go to classes where I spent an hour just a few feet away from Scott Kelby, Joe MacNally, Ben Willmore, Deke McClelland, Dave Black, Katrin Eismann, Moose Peterson, Kevin Ames, and more.
As Scott Kelby noted in his blog at
http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2011/archives/18090, Dave Black's appearance at the conference wrap-up was particularly inspiring even in a conference top-heavy with inspiration. I had gone to Dave's class on sports photography because it is something I'd like to return to doing, so I had already heard the story he told at the wrap-up -- but I still got choked-up, and I think there were a lot of eyes that didn't stay dry, including a lot of the other instructors.
If you can swing it, go. You'll learn more than you can imagine -- if you don't, you're either not actually alive, not at all interested, or you should be there teaching a class yourself. The emphasis on photography has increased over the years to the point it makes up a substantial percentage of the classes. There are also several classes on Lightroom, Dreamweaver, and even InDesign.
If there is a fault, it is that you'll likely find times when you want to go to two (or more) different classes at once. This is a good problem to have, and the show workbook has notes from the other classes as well as the ones you actually attend.
This was my eighth trip to Photoshop World, as I said, and I'd gladly make the ninth next year if I am able.
