Yeah, I know whatcha mean. My lips do that sometimes in dry weather and, I used to be on medicine because, I used to have horrible acne, and I had to take medicine from my dermatologist,...It made my lips do that for like, 2 years.

If people criticize you again, just shrug it off. Most of the time, if they see that their remarks don't affect you, they lose the fun of it and stop. Their probably the kind of people that always see the faults in things and not how truly beautiful things are. In fact, if you think about it, It's actually quite sad; They will probably go through life only seeing faults, not beauty.

Sometimes, I have people talk about me behind my back, or I have friends that, if you don't look a certain way they'll just say it in front of a crowd but, you know what? I believe in myself and no-matter how bad I may look sometimes, I know that I am a beautiful on the inside and that's what really matters. By the way, you've posted on these boards for quite some time now, and from what I have gathered from your posts is that you are a nice, friendly, caring, thoughtful person and, I bet you have a beautiful soul.

And if you are sick and tired of being criticized like I am sometimes, and you just can't seem to shrug it off, come right back and them and let them know that you are not a person to be messed with.
If they say stuff about your size, say hey you know what, I may be tiny, but you're just ugly and I can gain weight. (no offense to anyone here on the boards and no, I've never said these things to people )

Things could always be a lot worse...We could look like this guy...umm....girl....ummm.....person?

i will have boyfriend, but not right now. i find at the moment, going to a k-8 school, there isn't a variety. there's only close to fifteen guys in my class. but when you get to high school there are new people, more chances, and a lot of people who you've been going to school with for years, go to a different school or move away.
i keep track of every convo i have with my 'crush'. the other day he said he loved my laugh because it was hilarious & weird. and different. a lot of people hate my laugh because it's so loud and annoying. he's so nice to everyone, unlike his friends who are right snotty. i might see him as perfect, and he might think snotty things about others, but he doesn't say anything about it.

I have a very similar problem.

My BF is really sweet and we talk for hours on the phone almost every night but, at school he's really tense around me and he doesn't really make an effort to talk. I'm really quiet so, between the 2 of us at school we don't say much. You'd never know that if you heard us talk on the phone. Night before last, we talked on the phone for 2 hours and we were laughing, singing, talking, and just hanging out! But, some of my friends, like when we're around everyone else, they remark about how quiet we are and they say stuff that I think makes him even more nervous. I don't know what to do, though.....he's really sweet but, I mean, he's just....so.....closed and, I always feel like I have to make the 1st move. It's really awkward. I guess only time will tell though,..... right?

Congrats! My advice: don't blow it. I liked someone back in 6th Grade and I acted like I was so cool and all-that. Didn't work. She thought I was such an idiot. Just act like yourself and maybe it'll work out. Did for me! Oh BTW about the did for me, yeah well....somebody likes me now too.
