I'm redecorating my room and decided to take off the wallpaper on my walls. The wallpaper is peeling off really easily. Is this normal? Also....I think my wall is drywall. When you knock on it, it sounds hollow. Is this normal too? Please help me before I totally ruin my room. :(

Wallpaper, or wall coverings, can somethimes peel off very easily. That's great. Also, wallboard will sound hollow, yes.

It's a good thing if it comes off easy. When wallpaper is applied correctly it does, if not it takes part of the drywall with it and you have to fix the wall before painting. Just did that in the kitchen, not fun.

is wallboard/drywall normal? There would be a "real" wall behind the wallboard right?

Hello.
Wallboard/drywall is the normal wall. It's normal.
Most of the time, houses are studded, and then drywall or plaster/wallboard is then applied. That's it. It's normal, and easy to work with.
Love the Bruins logo!

Consider yourself lucky! Nothing like having to use a putty knife to peel wallpaper off the wall, a tedious task if there ever was one.

Don't forget the spray bottle, snoops....wet it, hang out and peel!!!! (gotta love old houses with plaster walls......)
