I am booked in CSR for our upcoming Sept. trip. We have a 7 yr old, 11 yr old and 14 yr old. Not sure if its too late to change, but I keep agonizing about our choice. I have been to CSR and POR and like them both, but this choice is driving me crazy!! Our family is divided down the middle about it.

CSR - Pros - Great pool and food at pool is convenient. Renovated rooms are great and we will appreciate the queen beds for an 11 night stay. Best bus system.

Cons - Big adult feeling resort (not as much disney). Got a little disappointed on my June trip when the front desk assured me they were giving us a renovated room and it was not. Pepper Market is very invonvenient for families. Not as much fun or as many choices for refillable mugs.

POR - Pros - Beautiful landscaping. Pretty pool. Boat to DTD. A little more of a disney feel, and my parents who are going with us will probably like it better.

Cons - Dirty dirty room last year. Very bad experiences at food court. Lousy bus experiences.

I am split even in my own mind :rotfl:. Is there any wisdom out there for someone who knows this much about the resorts and still can't decide?

Based on the information you provided I would choose CSR. I can deal with the cons you listed on that one better than those you listed for POR. Either way, enjoy your visit. Here's wishing you a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Well, you know where my heart lies as far as the CSR. I can say that, depending on when in September you go, most of the rooms will be completed.

You obviously have two rooms. If you aren't keen on CSR or POR, why don't you see if POFQ is available? That way you could use the pools at both resorts and still have the boat to DTD? It's also a smaller resort and more compact for your parents.

That's a good point about most of the rooms being completed in Sept. I think if I knew now that we were guaranteed a ren. room, I would be more content in our choice. As we get older, its a little harder for my DH and I to sleep comfortably in a double :goodvibes.

I don't think POFQ will work because the pool is somewhat small for my older kids although I think you're right in that my parents would like it - in fact, I'm probably being a little selfish in not booking us there :upsidedow. Its just not that convenient to travel to the other pool - I found it to be quite a walk after all the walking we do in the parks.

You're right. Although it was beautiful at POR, some of those issues were sort of unacceptable :headache:. I think just writing all this down here and getting a little advice is giving me more peace about our decision. My 14 yr old will be happy - she's never been to CSR and has been looking forward to it.

All rooms that are getting the queen beds now have them. There are only about 20 or so rooms with the double beds and those rooms are in the Casitas and are getting a new king bed.

Let us know what you decide.

Resort choice is something that we all seem to agonize far too much over. But it is hard with so many choices. Hey, at least you are down to two! I know some feel that CSR is not as Disney, but in my mind it has everything other Disney resorts have, including character statues/topiaries, etc, but you get queen beds in a recently refurbished resort. I'm sure your parents will appreciated the queen beds.

Stick with CSR!!!!

We love POR and CSR but chose CSR again for our upcoming trip partly because of the queen beds...as the kids get bigger the doubles seem cramped. The other reason is the pool...my kids love the large pool and hot tub and the water slide is one of the longest.

I would totally stay with CSR. The renovated rooms are really nice and the queen beds are great! We never used our refillable mugs in the PM-we used them in Cafe Rix mostly. Plus-the pool is pretty darn cool :)

yep, I'm convinced - we'll stick with CSR. I have some peace of mind about it. Its not my DH's first choice - he really likes POR, but since I do most of the planning...

Anyway, he's pretty easy going when it comes down to it.

I appreciate all the advice. I think I just needed some confirmation, and this isn't something I can obsess about with most of my friends :goodvibes. Guess all the incessant Disney talk gets boring real fast for "non-Disney" people.
