Because almost everytime we do, we come home with MORE points than we started with.

Just got back from a 7-day cruise booked using DVC points.

While on board, added another 80 points to the "portfolio".

Base price on points is now $80, but if you buy VB points, they are discounted $15/point. Could NOT resist.

Bad Jim. Bad. Bad. Badbadbadbadbad.

I was just going to post this question when I saw your post. We are thinking about going on Dis 7-day cruise and using points to do so, my question is do you think using the points is worth it or would you pay for it next time and not use points? Either way we are going to have to pay for our 2 kids, we only have 220 total pts. plus having to use banked and borrowed pts. Just wondering your opinion or anyone else that used pts. to go on cruise.

LOL!!! When I read the subject I thought, "Oh no! Another
not-so-magical vacation." Wrong! The more points you have, the more vacation options you can enjoy! ENJOY!

We used points for the DW & I, paid $$$ for the kids. The cost was 224 pts/adult + approx $1500 for the 2 kids.

Yes it was (IMHO) worth it.

Yes we WILL do it again, but to build up some points (we had to use 2 years worth on this one) we will, most likely not cruise on points again for 2 years, but if possible, WILL cruise again prior to that.

Hey JimB

Thanks for the additional info. on pts. use on cruise. It's good to hear your opinion.

JimB,
My first thought......he must be dying!!!!!Glad to hear you're well and adding on more years of enjoyment!!

The sea air had the same effect on my DH, or maybe it was the Pina Coladas???;)

All I know is, we added on 150 VWL points. Talk about having a "Bon Voyage!":p :p :p :p

Suffering from "pointitis"?

Suffering from "pointitis"?

More likely from the condition, "pointitis acquiris", commonly diagnosed among, but not limited to, original DVC owners. It appears to be a malingering condition, not seemingly curable and sometimes, barely manageable. Recurrence rates are high.

Therapy requires frequent vacationing on said points, but initial studies seem to indicate that that often worsens the condition, with many DVCers returning home after purchasing even more points. Additional study is required.

Where do I sign up to become a test subject, and how many free points do I get for participating in the study ??
