I'm going to Europe for my graduation trip/present (summer 2008) and I was wondering...

-DL Paris is a bit out of my way, and with limited time is it worth missing other places in Europe (such as Scottlad/Irleand, The English countryside etc.)

- For those who have been there how does it compare to DL California or WDW?

- How much French must I know, will there be enough people who speak English to compensate for my limited French skills?

-What’s your must see part of the parks, what can you not not do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This trip originally started out as a tour with several people from my school (EF Tours) but I want to extend my stay in Europe by about one week, and I have always wanted to go to DL Paris. I would also appreciate other recommendations for other things to do in Europe.

Are you planning on spending anytime in Paris? Obviously DLRP is really easy to do from there as a day trip.

If you are staying near London in the UK it is also very easy to pop over on the Eurostar, alternatively there are budget airlines that offer cheap flights from various airports around the UK.

It's similar in size to DLC.

You don't need to know any French, although saying Bonjour, Merci etc etc goes a long way! :goodvibes

We have a very unique resident, a dragon under the Castle!
Don't know much about DLC but because they are newer some rides are better than at WDW, namely BTM, Space Mountain, POTC, Buzz, Peter Pan. Also, the architecture at DLRP is especially beautiful.

If you were able to squeeze at least one day in Paris into your schedule I'm sure you wouldn't regret it. :)

If you are in the area, you should go to DL paris, cause it's a lot different from WDW ( i haven't been to DL calif.) But you might be disappointed when you see it. I know some who been to WDW first and then DL paris afterwards and they said it wasn't worth the trip.
Frence have another mentality then US. They can seem a bit snobbish. They are very friendly in DL but nothing like WDW. They can speak english but they do prefer if you speak french. One CM refused to speak english to me once.
But there are a couple of things that's better in DLP then in WDW:
- The castle is better looking on the inside with nice glaspics and a dragon in the cellar.
- The Pirates-ride is a lot longer and there is more story to it
- If you stay at a Disney hotel at the lake, you can walk to the parks in no time.

A lot of the rides are the same as in WDW. and everything is a lot smaller
But i would say, if you are a disney freak you should go there, just to see it for yourself, but if not, then spend your time on some of the other great things Europe have to offer!
:goodvibes

All of you make it sound so interesting. We are going for the day in June. I have been to DLC once and WDW many times so I am looking forward to seeing yet another Disney Park. My cousin's grandaughter (3) will be with us and she is crazy about about the princesses. I getting so excited, just 3 months!

:goodvibes Thank you for all of your wonderful help, I think I probably will just have to go to DL Paris. If anyone has any more advice on the things to do in DL Paris (or Paris in general) please share, I'm sure everyone considering a trip to DL Paris would be grateful (epically me). :goodvibes

There is a LOT to do in Paris - I'm heading there again next month. I plan to do the Fat Tires bike tours of Versailles, and the night bike tour. I also hadn't realized there was an American Cemetary in Paris, so I plan to do that. I love just walking in Paris!
