I was trying to work out if I could get to the Northern meet, but I now somehow seem to be going to DLP! I gave the dates I wanted to try as after the weekend to try to make it but it seems to be fate as the date with the direct Eurostar was the very weekend.Next year I will be the first to book my flights and room for the NM and won't make this mistake again.

Mattie is very depressed at the moment and I asked him something that would really cheer him up and give him something to look forward to...he said DLP! So on the spur of the moment I called TC and they came back with a great quote, which I still get 20% off as I'm now on a 'nil hours contract'.This is I am technically still employed by TC (and get the benefits) and they can ask me to work the odd day or I can phone and say I've got these days free do you need me,this was the perfect answer as I was leaving to work in the school anyway and to keep my hand in I could have done some work in the school holidays.

ANYWAY! I am going for two nights to stay in The Newport Bay hotel, and I managed to get a direct Eurostar which I was very pleased about.I also booked the Wild West show for 9.30 on the eveing I arrive. But I know absolutely nothing about DLP as I never thought I'd be going there:rolleyes: I bought the Unofficial guide this afternoon then realsed it didn't even have any info on the new park in it which I needed to read about:mad:

I have never really been away on my own (pathetic) but I'm sure i'll be OK!If anyone has any advice or info I'd be very grateful.

I'm sure you'll have a great time! A good unofficial website is http://www.dlp-guidebook.de/index_e.htm THis has lots of guides for both parks, restarants, rides, etc, etc. The direct Eurostar service is very convenient - you will even have your luggage transferred to your hotel for you.

The new park, the Walt Disney Studios, is very small, but it does have a couple of great attractions. The Stunt Show should not be missed, and fans of the movies enjoy Cinemagique. However, you will probably want to spend more time in Disneyland, which has much more to offer at the moment.

Regards

Rob

Wow Karen,

Well done. I am sure we will forgive you;)

Have a brilliant time at DLP

NM or DLP??? Kazzie how could you . . . not go to DLP:) I'll forgive you, but would have enjoyed finally meeting you - there's always the next time.

Bet you and Mattie'll have a great old time. We'll be thinking of you up in freezing Gateshead:p

We'll miss you next week but it's great news that you are going to DLP!! I liked the Newport Bay very much - directly after you've checked in, go straight over to the concierge to get your breakfasts booked.
The back exit takes you out to Lake Disney and going to the left of the lake will bring you to Disney Village which you'll walk through to get to the park(s). I think this one of the great bonusses of staying on site. It's such an easy walk to the parks!
Plus, if you have passes for your entire stay, these should be issued on the train together with Disney Express tags for your luggage - your 'travel pack' will have instructions on how to use them but when you get off the train, you can take your luggage to a DLP hotels 'check-in' in the station, where they'll take your luggage to the resort for you, and you can head straight to the parks!! You can then stroll to the resort later or take one of the resort busses. Unless you get bad weather, you probably won't want to use the busses very much as it is easier and more pleasant to walk.
