My Plans have changed so many times I'm pulling my hair out. I plan on going NOW from Dec. 20 to Jan. 5. Which is peak season to value. Will they be able to apply the Value Season rate to all of my dates. Thanks

no, in fact you will be charged holiday rate the ENTIRE stay, You are charged the rate (from check in day) for your entire stay.

Is there any way you could check in on the 19th to catch value season for your entire stay???

If not then try to break up your trip into two separate reservations so your value days are not charge holiday rate.

Any chance you can get an AP. From what I have read here the AP rates for starting before Christmas until the 26th are Holiday rates but as low as AP value rates. (Would quickly pay for at least one AP if they weren't in the plan) Don't know if you can get all your dates, I think they have some blackout dates but, it would be worth calling and asking about some different combinations. If that doesn't work just break up your reservation into two, peak and value.

You should have your reservation split into peak and value reservations. Then on the day of the value rates you will need to check out and then check back in. If you mention this when you change the reservation chances are you won't need to change rooms. We have stayed at the resorts on the first day of a new rate and the lines were long as people were checking out and back in again.

This is the only way you are going to get a break on the rates unless you try some other discount.

If you do get 2 separate reservations, to be able to take advantage of value season rates, be sure CRO links the 2 ressies together. Also mention it at check-in. They won't guarantee that you won't have to change rooms, but it seems to very rarely happen.

This info might not be necessary for you--see if you can call reservations and ask what their current policy is.

We just stayed at All Star Movies when the rates changes from summer to the cheap fall ones. I added an extra day on the front not realizing that I would have to pay the expensive rate the whole time. Someone here mentioned asking about coming back and checking in and out so the rates would change when I was checking in. Check-in turned out to be a 45 minute nightmare and there was no way I wanted to repeat it--even to save some money--and I'm a pretty thrifty gal! Needless to say, I was shocked and surprised when I went to check out and they gave me a slip of the credit that they had put back on my Mastercard to make up the difference that they had overcharged me after the rates changed. I had not asked about this at all and they acted like it was standard procedure. So they may have changed their policy.

Advice from Mousesavers.
If your stay STARTS in a particular season, but runs into the next season, your room rate will be based on the season in effect when you check in. For instance, if you check in to your hotel for a one week stay on February 14 (Value Season), even though Peak Season starts on February 15 you will be charged for the entire stay at the Value Season rates.

Keep in mind that this can work against you if, for instance, you check in during Peak Season and the rate drops to Regular Season during your stay. If you want to avoid paying the higher rate for your entire stay, you can make two reservations and split your stay when the season changes. You will have to check in and check out on paper, settle up any charges to your room and get new keys.

There is a slight possibility you may have to change rooms if you split your stay. But this may be worth it if you save $50 a night! If you make two reservations, it's a good idea to point out to the front desk on arrival that you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room. This usually works.

Be aware that when the season changes, there can be a long line at check-in with guests taking advantage of the lower rate. Either do the check-out/check-back-in process early, before you go to the parks, or call the front desk and ask if you can do it later.
