Ok, so my wife and I planning a trip to Universal Orlando. I'm staying onsite for 2 nights and have a 3 day pass with all the bells and whistles. total came out to 1477. We decided to cut it a day short and only do 2 days so I call them up and tell them I want to change it to A2 day ticket. I'm told its a $50 change fee. I tell them that's insane and ill just cancel the whole thing. So, the lady puts me on hold, comes back, changes it to a 2 day ticket and magically waves the $50 change fee for a new grand total of 1456! ?!?!??!?

So.......
1. The 1 day ticket for 2 people came to $20?? $10 each
2. Had they not waved the $50 change fee, after removing my 1 day ticket my new grand total would have been $1,500. lol

Tried explaining this to the lady and she seemed uninterested and told me to have a nice day.

They are having a promotion right now where the third day is free when you pay full price. They may have changed it to a slightly discounted two day ticket.

If you are going be going before April 12, the third day is free. If you are going to go after April 12, the third day costs $10. That is actually what the ticket prices are.

When you purchase a package, at WDW or Universal, there is a $50 change fee. That's why we don't generally recommend purchasing a package here on these boards.

Thanks!

OP is going in December, so the ticket wouldn't work for them anyways.

I saw right after I posted, haha.

Undercover Tourist is actually doing the same exact thing, but they've got no expiry date. I literally just called after seeing this post because I was worried about the May 31 date since we're going in September and they said that their version is different and is not the Universal Promo version. So, anyone could check them out instead. :) Our tickets were $400.24 (ETA: for two people). The price is going up very soon, though, probably in a day or two.

Yes. Those tickets are a great deal!

Yeah, I have been to Disney many times and call up with issues on occasion and its never a problem. I always feel like Disney goes above and beyond to help me and tells me to havea magical day. Not so much with universal. I am getting my Disney tickets through UT, they have a special right now with buy 4 plus a day, no expiration which im using in December as well.

Just feel like Universal is taking me for a fool. Not impressed at all. I dont think I'll go back, not that they will miss me or anything...

Are they really? *jumps, hops & skips over to UT*

ETA: Too bad it won't let me add the tickets to the cart. At all. :(

I tried it right now and it went through. However, I noticed that these are only for the PH's (so much for listening/reading) and we're doing PH w/ Water Park, so, boo. :[

Are you looking for Wet 'n Wild tickets? The only tickets at Universal that include Wet 'n Wild are the 14 day 3 park tickets and the Flex Ticket which is also for 14 days.

I'm going December 26. No more packages for me

Packages have restrictions that a la carte does not. Same with Disney.

It's too bad you went the package route with universal. Also too bad you didn't read the restrictions on changing before booking. :(

Disney now doesn't allow even dropping a day with room only at the same rate if those dates aren't available at the rate you had. Which means they rebook the whole thing when you think you're just dropping a day. So Disney has strong restrictions now. Just might not have experienced them.

I'm sad you dropped a day. Our first Uni trip (booked room only with tickets from Maple leaf tickets) was 3 nights onsite with 4 days of tickets and we didn't want to leave.

No, it's for Disney.

We already bought our tickets through Disney (we haven't finished paying off the amount cause we're keeping our reservation until the last minute in case our off-site resort falls through, sigh).
