Our DD's DBF talked to DH and I yesterday about his intentions of proposing to our DD. They have been talking about this for awhile, but now it's becoming more "official." His idea of a proposal is to have his family and our family go down to DLR about a week before Christmas and he wants to propose to DD at DL in front of both families. :cloud9: We agreed to this plan, so now we're going down in December to witness this special occasion!! He's tossing around a couple of ideas as to how to do the actual proposal. I think DD suspects that he might propose down there based on some things he has been saying, but she doesn't know for sure and she wouldn't know how and when he's going to do it.

I'm a happy future "mother of the bride"!! :flower:

That is exciting! DH popped the question next to the castle at DL. We hadn't talked about marriage, so it was a total surprise (a total shock is more like it). I think it's sweet that your DD's DBF wants both families there. :thumbsup2 Break out the tissues & have fun!

How special! That is how my husband proposed. He surprised me while I was on a trip with my family at WDW. He proposed after a romantic dinner at California Grill. Disney proposals are the best. Have fun, and good luck keeping the secret!!!!

P.S. Congratulations!

Congratulations! :yay: That is so sweet that both families will be there. :grouphug: My husband and I cannot remember HOW he proposed!!! :worried: Isn't that crazy? But he must have I guess because next month will be our 30th wedding anniversary! So he must have asked and I must have said, "yes!"   I wish I could say our's happened at Disneyland, but THAT I would remember!

Congradulations!!! He sounds like a great guy!! To include both families is just so sweet.

Oh, that sounds like it will be such a special trip :goodvibes. What a thoughtful way to propose with both families there to celebrate!! :goodvibes

Thank you for the posts! It is exciting and it WILL be hard to keep it a secret for the next 6 months!! ;)

Congrats to your DD!! How fun!! What a wonderful way to get a proposal! :)

I proposed in front of Sleeping Beautys castle. I told my wife that we should take a photo infront of the castle. Before we did I whispered to the photo guy to "just keep snapping". Its cool because now I have like a sequence of photos of the proposal. Scariest part was carrying a $20,000 ring in my pocket the entire time. Also getting through securty at the airport without her seeing the ring was a challenge too!

Congratulations! He sounds like a great guy and a wonderful addition to your family!:lovestruc

Awww, how exciting!!! That is so great, especially that he is including both families. That just makes it even that much more meaningful. DH and I didn't get engaged at Disney, but we honeymooned there, does that count?:)

While I was a DL, I found a wonderful spot to "pop the question". On the storybook canal: there is a portion that goes through several rose covered archways while "A whole new world" was playing. It was so romantic!! You could arrange for a private boat, or your whole family could be in the same boat!!

How exciting!!! My DH proposed to me during Fantasmic. It was the part where the princesses are on the boats, and it was when snow white and her prince came around playing the song, "Someday my prince will come, someday will find ture love":lovestruc :lovestruc. That was even more special because we met at Disneyland too. The day after the wedding we went to Disneyland with both sides of the family and the wedding party.  .

I do know for a fact that if you contact Disney, and tell them of the plan they will help you come up with ideas and try to go out of their way to make it extra special.

I love hearing everyone's stories and ideas! I'll let DD's DBF know that he can contact a CM to help him carry out the proposal! :goodvibes

Best bets would to have him work with either City Hall or the hotel's Concierge desk (if you are staying on property) to finalize things. You can do either by phone ahead of time.

We were married at the GCH 12/23/01, so we know what a romantic place it can be!
