My goodness, I had no idea that my post about theatre would spawn such a huge reaction! I'm thinking maybe I should've kept quiet about it. I swear I'm not the whimp I made myself out to be! That guestbook entry just opened the floodgates for all the anxieties I've had all along and the stress of finals and graduation and moving out on my own, and I was only looking for some encouragement. I'm not very good at taking advice, however.

I never had any real intention of giving up. If anyone knows all about rejection, it's me. If I was a quitter, I never would've been in my high school's musical, Rags, my senior year. I auditioned for every single production that school did until I graduated and only got to do that one show. Sure, I get more upset than I should at times, but I've always bounced back.

My plans for Florida are already set, and if I'm a fur character for a while, then I'm a fur character for a while. I still have plenty of money in my college account to afford to do that for at least the summer; I'm just going to have fun and go to as many auditions as I can. (and hey, being a character will help me lose weight) Disney is a great place to network.

That's the spirit! Glad to see you happy again. The upcoming months will really be exciting for you. ((HUGS)) Take care, Angie.

Angie I am sure you will do wonderful at whatever task you are given at WDW!:) Just don't forget all of your good buddies here on the DIS. I expect: 1-to hear all about your WDW experiences here on the DIS, 2-an occasional email, and 3- now that you have my address an occasional letter:D. And then one day I can go to a broadway play and go backstage and get the star's (and guess who that will be:) ) autograph. Good luck Angie in all you undertake!

I just have to add something- Please don't use my website's guestbook as a message board, especially if you're not even going to leave your name. The guestbook is really for the site itself, not for advising or criticising me. And whoever quoted that passage from my wdwcp journal in my guestbook, that was unneccessary. I'm fully aware of what I wrote reguarding the face character auditions I attended, and I remember exactly what happened. I know that I'm not ideally the type they usually choose for face characters- but the hieght ranges for the princesses have recently changed to include my height and once I've lost a little weight, I'm going to try again anyway, even if it's a long shot. I'd rather find out for myself. You know, I didn't even cry when I was turned down last time.

Hang in the AB...you never know unless you try. Give it your all :)

I listened to you sing on your website and you have a lovely voice. Pursue your dreams... never give up! :D

Angie,
I actually think being a fur character would be neat. And you would really develop some non verbal communication skills that most of us don't have. I mean I am AMAZED at how much those characters can communicate considering they can't talk and thier face expression are molded in place! I guess it might not pay as much as face characters (never thougth about it, but it would pay something!)

I have not seen the guestbook entry, but I know that your chosen field is tough and people feel the urge to critque even if they don't have any quals. I am just impressed that you are going out there and trying. I have a 40 something year old friend who "claims" he is an "actor" in NY. Of course as I have pointed out in the 20 years since he moved to NY he has done about 3 auditions! At this rate he will retire before he gets a role. I think he thinks he is Lana Turner and someone will discover him in his waiting job! LOL!

Right now, I think by reading this, I am proud of you. It seems like you are putting this past you, and I commend you for it. All you need to do is take things one day at a time. I know you can do it.

Oh, and as for that second post... ...CRACK DAT WHIP! LOL Seriously, but you look like you're about ready to layeth the smackethdown on ALLLLLLLL the nay-sayers! Kinda turns me on, hehehehehe.

Don't worry, you'll make it someday. As I said, It'll take a while, but the wait will be worth it. I will stand behind you all the way.

Angie, I just wanted to wish you all the best. No matter what you do, I am sure you will do great! Oh and when you find out what you will be doing as a job, do let me know. I'll be down at the end of May and would love to hunt you down :)
